Chapter ten

Lucas's pov
"Finally, we have time to talk",Chris said as he and Eva entered the back seat of the car. I drove from the school and packed the car in front of a store. "I don't understand the concept of Noah being a werewolf", I sighed. " He is a werewolf, he scratched Eva when he hit her. Look at her face and she said she has been seeing signs whenever they are together", Chris explained. " How did you know anything about were wolves, Eva?" I raised a curious brow.

" I once had a friend who was a werewolf when I was in highschool but she died. She was killed",she said sadly. I exchanged looks with Chris. We have to tell her the truth about our identity."Eva, Chris and I are werewolves",I dropped the bombshell and she gasped in shock." Are you serious? Or is this a joke?" She whispered. " It's not a joke, Eva. But I promise we won't hurt you",Chris assured her.

" I know you can't hurt me Chris. I'm just surprised",she said. I think this girl likes Chris though. "Do you still want to be friends with Lucas and I?" he asked as he scratched his head. " Yes, you guys protected me from Noah today. So why won't I be friends with you?",she smiled and Chris sighed in relief. "You have to come stay with us. Chris said your parents are not always around and you live alone so it is not safe for you to stay in that house",I suggested.

" Really? Thank you so much",she squealed with excitement and gave Chris a hug. " You guys are the best", She added. "We will do anything to keep you safe, Eva",Chris smiled at her. I rolled my eyes and drove the car to Eva's house as i was instructed to do by Chris and his mate. "I want to take a stroll down the street",I said to Chris." Do you think it is safe for you to go outside alone? It is dark already",Chris asked.

" I will be fine",I assured him. " Lucas, it is dark already please don't go outside. Something bad can happen",he protested worriedly. " Chris, I am not a baby. I will be back",I said and he nodded. I walked towards a certain direction, it was as if I was not in control of my body. There is this thing pushing me to just walk to where I don't know. After walking for like fifteen minutes, I used my phone's flashlight to see because it was dark. I heard a growl, a familiar growl like that of a werewolf.

A werewolf? In the middle of the streets in the city? What's going on? I followed the sound and fear gripped my heart when I heard a scream. Did the wolf kill the person? I rushed to the place where the sound was coming from. I saw the werewolf near a body, the wolf was sniffing the body. Who is this wolf and it is from which pack? "Leave the body alone",I said. I have to protect that human on the floor. As an Alpha, that's my job to protect. The werewolf turned to me and growled in readiness to attack me.

I can't change to my wolf form so this means there's a high chance that I will get hurt. My father must not hear about this but I feel the urge to help the Human laying on the floor. The big black wolf walked towards me and his red eyes didn't leave my body. I ran towards the other direction and the wolf growled loudly. I closed my eyes trying to mindlink for help. I could feel the wolf near me.

All of a sudden, I heard a car sound and it was my car. Thank goodness! Chris is here. Chris walked out of the car and changed into his wolf form. His wolf was also big and his green eyes glowed in the dark. I could hear Eva's squeals in the car. The other wolf turned to Chris's wolf (Ken) and they attacked each other. I searched around and I saw a big rod of iron. I lifted it and hit the rod on the other wolf's head with full force multiple times.

The wolf growled in pain and passed out on the floor. "Is it dead?", Eva asked as she came out of the car. "Go back in there, Eva", I yelled and she obeyed. Chris shifted back into human, he was naked. I helped him to pick up his clothes beside the car. "What the fuck just happened?",he half yelled at me. "I don't know. I don't know how this wolf got here",I said. " Lucas, I told you not to go out alone but you didn't listen now we are in this mess!!",he yelled angrily. " Chris, calm down. The wolf wanted to hurt someone and I tried to help",I explained.

"You could have died! What if I didn't hear your voice huh? This thing would have killed you and the whole pack will be in jeopardy", Chris yelled again. I said nothing because I knew he was saying the truth. I was directed here by voice in my head. "Call elder Ava", I ordered Chris. He gave me a glare and dialed her number. I walked towards the body laying on the floor and gasped. "Emma!" I yelled in shock. "What? That is Emma?" Eva yelled from the car and rushed towards me.

"Is she dead? Did that thing kill her?" she asked me as tears rolled down her cheeks. I placed my head on Emma's chest. "She is breathing but her breaths are unsteady. She needs medical attention", I replied Emma. " Let's take her to the hospital then",Eva said. " No, they will ask us questions about what happened to her so it's not safe. I know a lot of things about medical health so let's take her home",I suggested instead.

" Are you sure? Will she be okay if we take her home?" She asked me and I nodded. " Lucas, take Emma and Eva to the house. I will have to wait here with this wolf for elder Ava",Chris said. " No! We can't leave you here all by yourself. What if the thing wakes up and hurt you",Eva asked worriedly. " I promise , I will be okay", he assured her. " He will be fine. Let's go Eva", I said to her. I carried Emma in my arms while Eva carried her school bag. Even though, Emma and i are enemies. I can't afford to see her in this condition. I'm not heartless.

"Lucas, thank you. If not for you, am sure that wolf would have killed her",Eva said to me. I gave Eva a tight lipped smile and placed Emma carefully on the backseat. I drove fast to my house. I carried her out of the car and took her to my room. Her face was pale and her lips were parted slightly. I took the first aid box in the closet. "What are we going to do?",Eva asked me. "We need to do a CPR for her so that she can have enough oxygen",I replied. I placed my hands interlaced on her chest, I pushed down of her chest repeatedly.

"Eva, put your mouth on hers and breath into her mouth", I said. " No I can't do that", she shook her head. " Why?" I asked with a frown. "Because I don't know how to do that",she shrugged and I sighed in frustration. " It's a simple thing. It's just to breath into her mouth so that there will be enough air",I said. " Do it",she shook her head.

I feel so weird doing this. It's more or less like I'm going to kiss her but I have to save her life. I placed my mouth softly on hers, her lips was so soft. I erased that thought from my head. I breath in her mouth for like three minutes. "She is opening her eyes slowly",Eva whispered with excitement." What the fuck is happening? Are you out of your mind?" Emma said weakly and raised her hand. She gave me a weak slap on my face and pushed me away from her.
