Chapter sixteen

Emma's pov
"What are you doing here?" I asked him. He didn't reply me for a moment, I could feel his eyes wander round my body. Is he checking me out? "Hi Lucas. Please come inside",Joan said. "Thank you, Joan",he replied her with a smile. "Do you want anything to drink? Juice? Water? Wine?",Joan asked him. " No, I'm okay thank you",he replied. " I will leave you two to it then",She said and went to her room.

I was left with Lucas, I didn't look at him. I concentrated on the movie I was watching instead. "How are you feeling now?",he asked and I rolled my eyes. Why is he acting like he cares about me after telling me to stay out of his life yesterday?

"I'm talking to you, Emma. Don't ignore me",he said. I looked at him, his hair was messy as always, his eyebrows thick and his lips pink and soft. What? Did I just think about that? "Emma...",he said again this time sounding frustrated. I didn't reply, I just kept staring at him. "Talk to me, am not here for your childish banter",he said in a stern voice this time. " You told me not to talk to you yesterday and I'm obeying your wish so why do you have a problem with that?" I replied harshly.

" I'm not here because I care about you. I'm here on behalf of Eva and the head teacher. The head teacher gave me your address , she wants to know how you feel",he explained. " I'm fine, tell her that. So please leave", I said feeling angry already. " You know you do have issues right? That's one reason why I will never like you. You are so arrogant and you think the whole world resolves around you",he expressed.

" Who cares if you don't like me? Please get out of my house", I yelled at him. He sat on the couch without moving. " I said get out now",I yelled again. "I'm not going anywhere because I'm here to talk to you",he said. "Well, I'm not interested so leave",I countered. "I'm not leaving, we have to talk about our project",he protested. I stood up and grabbed him by his arm to pull him up but I couldn't.

I tried with full force but I failed, I ended up tripping and he caught me in his arms. The moment happened so fast that our lips almost touched. I pushed him away and stood up from his laps immediately. What if I didn't push him? We would have kissed and I will really blame myself if that happened. "See what you just caused. You are too stubborn",he said with his face flushed as he rolled this eyes. Is that a blush or what?

"You are stressing me out please leave this house",I whined with my face flushed as well. "This is my phone number, call me when you are ready to talk about our project. Nothing more",he gave me a piece of paper with his phone number on it.

He walked towards the door, we exchanged looks for a moment. He shook his head, he was about to open the door when Zoe opened the door and bumped into his chest. "Oh! I'm so sorry",Zoe apologised with a smile. "It's fine",Lucas replied her. "My name is Zoe, I'm Emma's cousin",Zoe said. "I'm Lucas, Emma's classmate",he stated. "Nice to meet you, Lucas",she grinned and they shook hands.

" Enough, Lucas please leave",I said feeling irritated by their conversation, Lucas left. "Who is that guy? He is cute",Zoe said as she winked. "He is not cute",I snapped. "What is wrong with you girl? Chill",she raised a brow. " How was school today?" I asked her.

"It was okay but really boring. What about you? Hope you feel good now?" She asked and I nodded. " Emma seriously tell me, who is that guy? Is he your boyfriend or fuck buddy?",she teased. "Eeew, no. We are enemies, we don't like each other", I said. "Wait! Don't tell me you are still a virgin. Girl, you are nineteen years old. Loosen up a bit and enjoy life",she advised and I rolled my eyes.

" I'm keeping myself for the perfect guy. I'm not ready to give my v.card to anyone",I uttered." Nonsense, anyways I think I'm interested in Lucas. He is so cute",she winked and I choked on the water I was drinking. "Dude! You just met him. How can you be interested in him so soon?",I yelled. " It doesn't matter, he is cute and I will get him soon",she said and went to her room. This girl has lost it, she is not in her right senses. Interested in Lucas?

"Seems like someone else knows the worth of Lucas ", Joan's voice pulled me out of my little world. " What do you mean?",I asked her. "I heard all the conversation.. Zoe is interested in Lucas? Pretty interesting right?" She said. " Well I don't care",I shrugged." Are you sure?" She asked me and I nodded. " I will be in my room",I said and went to my room. I picked up my phone and saw a text from Eva, she asked about how I was feeling and I replied.

Lucas is really confusing, he told me to stay out of his life yesterday and he showed up at my door today. We almost kissed today well it's not the first time our lips will be touching but this time I am conscious and the yesterday was a CPR to save my life.

Who the hell is this Lucas? Ever since he joined my school everything in my life changed. My boring life changed and I now have people to talk to.i have Eva, Chris and him as we even though all we do is fight. But what about Astrid? Astrid said all sorts of bad things about him but I know deep down that they are not true even Eva confirmed it. I need to stay away from Astrid, he is definitely up to something.

Lucas wouldn't have saved my life if he truly has any bad intention towards me. Should I follow Joan's advice and try to be his friend? "No, he will reject me and insult me. I don't want that for myself", I said to no one. But Zoe? She is interested in him, I won't allow that to happen. Never! My cousin can never be with lucas, it will be like an eyesore for me.

I searched my shorts for the piece of paper where he wrote his number but I couldn't find it. I went to the sitting room to search for it. "Looking for something?" Joan asked. "A piece of paper with a number on it",I replied. "Oh, Zoe just came here and she saw the paper. She was excited and she took it with her into her room", Joan said and I groaned. Now she has his number, ugh! Zoe!!
