Chapter twenty six

Lucas's pov
"Finally, the queen bee of Mark's college is now my Friend",I teased and we both laughed. It's nice spending time with Emma. She is actually a cool person and she opened up to me about her sickness. Astrid is persistent and I will teach him a lesson. He needs to stay away from Emma, she is mine and mine alone. "Let's go to the cafe to have lunch. It's time already",I said to Emma.

"That's necessary,I'm really hungry",she replied with a frown on her face. " Do you need any help?" I asked and she shook her head. " I can stand on my own. I feel better now",she said and stood up from the bed. I carried her bag and we both walked out of the private room.

On our way to the cafeteria, we got stared from people and I wonder why. "Hey guys!" Eva yelled and urged us to come join her and Chris on the table. Emma and I walked towards them and I helped Emma with the chair to sit. "Hi Eva, hi Chris",Emma said with a smile. "How are you? And where are you two coming from?" Eva winked and I rolled my eyes. " She needs rest, Eva. Don't stress her",I warned Eva and she pouted.

" Don't talk to my girl like that",Chris said as he rolled his eyes in a joking manner and we all chuckled. "Emma, what do you want? So that I can go get it for you",I asked. Eva grinned and I sighed. What's wrong with this girl? She's so dramatic.

"A sandwich is fine, a turkey sandwich and a bottle of juice,apple juice",Emma said. "Okay, I will get it for you",I said and pulled Chris up." Bro, what? ",He groaned. "You are becoming so lazy. You are always around Eva",I complained. " It's not my fault, I just want to be with my mate always",he said and I sighed. On our way towards the counter, Astrid bumped into me on purpose.

"Dude, what the fuck is wrong with you?", I asked angrily, my rage was boiling. This guy needs to be put in his place. "You are my problem. I will take her away from you. I promise you",he whispered into my ear and I lost it.

I pulled him closer and punched his face. He countered me with a swift kick on my stomach and I groaned. I stumbled back, gasping for breath. On the other hand, I saw Chris fighting Astrid and he was winning him. "Lucas!! Are you okay?" Emma said as she held my arm. I groaned and saw that the guy who follows Astrid around is beating Chris. "Please leave this cafe this minute",I said to Emma. "No, I won't. You are hurt and we have to stop them from fighting",she said. " Go now!" I yelled at her and she shook in fear. I watched her leave the cafe with Eva.

Everyone in the cafe was recording a video of us. Astrid charged towards me ready to attack me. I hit him on his crotch and he clutched it in pain. "Chris, let's go",I said and pulled Chris up. We ran out of the cafe and walked outside ready to leave the school before the school authorities intervene. "Oh my goodness, my baby",Eva cried when she saw Chris as we entered the car.

"You must be so hurt. Come here",Eva said and pulled Chris closer to her. I drove out of the school compound with Emma by my side on the passenger's seat while Eva and Chris sat at the back. "Are you okay?" Emma asked with worry in her voice and I nodded.

We all alighted from the car and entered my house. "Lucas, why did you do that? Why did you start a fight?" Eva yelled at me."You don't understand so keep quiet",I said. " Make me understand, you are not hurt. Chris is injured instead. Why does he have to suffer for your mistakes?! ",She yelled at me. I was getting angry again but I didn't say anything. "Eva, please calm down",Emma said.

"No, I won't calm down. Talk to him, he should stop doing things that will hurt Chris. Look at him, look at my baby's face and look at Lucas. Standing there looking cute when he was the one who started the fight",Eva snapped.

" Eva, that's enough. I won't watch you and insult him. You know who he is and you know who I am to him. My job is to protect him so keep shut", Chris yelled at Eva. " But babe, I'm trying to stand in for you. You don't have to suffer for his mistakes",she said. " I said keep quiet, Eva and stop acting like a little child", Chris cautioned. Emma frowned and I know she has a lot of questions in her mind to ask.

I know am wrong but Eva doesn't have to act like this not at this present situation with Emma here with us. "I'm sorry, Chris. You don't have to fight your woman because of me",I apologised to Chris. " It's fine, I know that bastard provoked you that's why you reacted like that",he said.

Eva bit her lip and I know she was feeling guilty for accusing me. "I'm sorry for yelling at you, Lucas. I was just angry to see Chris hurt",she said and I nodded. I walked to my room and sat on the couch with many thoughts on my head. I need to get rid of Astrid so fast. He is stressing the hell out of my life. The moment he said he was going to take Emma away from me. I couldn't think about anything else but to kill him. I heard the click of the door and Emma walked in.

"Hey",she said as sat beside me. "Hi",I said in a low voice. "Are you okay?",she asked and I shook my head. "You saw the way Eva yelled at me",I muttered and she nodded. " I'm sorry about that and she apologised already. She was just caring for her man",she said and I nodded.

"I understand",I said. " Why did you fight Astrid? I know you don't like him but hitting him? That's extreme",she raised a curious brow." He said something that fueled the anger in me",I said." What's that? ",She asked." It's fine, let's forget about it",I cut her off. I can't tell her that I fought with Astrid because of her. "Chris said something earlier. He said his job is to protect you. I thought you guys are friends why does he protect you as his job? Who are you, Lucas? Where did you come from?" Emma asked and my heart hammared against my chest.

What am I going to tell her? Oh no..!
