Chapter twenty four

Lucas's pov
"Mate mate mate",I heard the voice in my head say. " Blue, is that you?" I said but I didn't receive a response. I don't know if I should be happy or sad. I have finally found my mate and my mate is Emma. My head was full with many thoughts as I drove back home. "Hey man",Chris said as he opened the door for me. "Hi lucas",Eva said. I stared at them and they looked at me confusingly.

"Emma is my mate",I blurted out and Eva jumped up with excitement. " Wow! Congratulations man",Chris gave me a hug. " I'm so happy for you. Emma is the perfect girl for you", Eva gave me a hug.

" She doesn't like me. How will she like me? Do you think she will accept me?" I asked feeling sad. " Yes, she will. You guys kissed right here earlier. You shouldn't be bothered about that. You should be happy",Chris replied with a smile. " I agree. You just have to stop fighting her, buy her gifts and give her attention. With time she will definitely like you",Eva advised.

" Our Luna is a powerful being. The moon goddess is so kind to us", Chris grinned and I rolled my eyes. " I don't know why you are not happy, Lucas. Today should be the happiest day of your life. You know who your mate is now",he said.

" I'm happy that I found my mate but I don't know how to feel when my mate is Emma. It's a lot",I sighed. " It's nothing so tell me how did you find out that she is your mate",Eva smirked. " When I dropped her off, she gave me a peck on my lips. I entered my car and heard a voice in my head saying mate mate mate",I explained and she squealed with excitement. "I think she is starting to like you already",Chris winked.

" I doubt that, she said she kissed me not because she likes me",I said. " It doesn't matter. She just said it and she is trying to play hard to get",Eva said. " What will be their ship name?" Chris asked Eva.

" Lumma?" Eva said and they both giggled. I rolled my eyes at their childish behavior. Now I see why they are soulmates. They are both childish and immature. I walked to my room and called my dad to tell him the news. "Hi Dad",I said. "Hey son, how are you?" my dad asked. " I'm fine, dad. Emma is my mate",I said and he yelled with excitement. " What?! Oh my goodness, I'm so happy",he said.

" Your mate is a very special girl. You are so lucky, Lucas. Infact we are lucky to have her as our future Luna in our pack",he said. " But dad, this girl and I are not friends. She doesn't like me",I complained and he sighed.

" That's not a problem, get her to like you. She is your mate and you have to claim her as soon as possible before anyone does. Buy her gifts, take her out, show her love and care. I'm sure she will feel the mate bond somehow",he advised." Alright dad, thanks",I said and ended the call. I sighed and laid on my bed. I closed my eyes and I started thinking about her. Will she like me? Will I like her eventually? What about Astrid and his threat? Will he take her away from me? All these questions ran through my mind till I fell asleep.

"Lucas! Lucas!" I heard a voice from my sleep. "Who is there? ",I asked in a tired and sleepy voice." It's Chris, you have to prepare. We will be late for school in the next thirty minutes",he said and my eyes widened. I stood up and went to the bathroom to do my early morning routine. After that I wore a black sweatpants and a white hoodie. I used a black base ball cap and wore my air Force Jordans.

"Good morning",I said to Eva and Chris. "Good morning Lucas",Eva replied with a smile as she gave me my breakfast which consists of bacon and eggs. "Thank you",I said and she smiled. "We have to go now. You can eat in the car, I will drive", Chris suggested, we agreed with him and left for the car.

The ride was silent,I guess everyone is not a morning person including myself. I ate my food and I was nervous about seeing Emma today. The way I see her is now different. She is my mate and she needs to be treated like a queen. "Bye guys",Eva said to us as we entered the school building. She has a different schedule so we don't share any classes together. "Be nice to her",Chris whispered into my ear and walked away from me.

"Hi",I heard a voice behind me and it was Emma's. I was so nervous to turn. "Lucas, are you okay?",she asked. I turned to her and the moment I did. I was lost into her eyes that shined bright. How did I just realise how beautiful she is?

"Hey!" she pouted like a baby and I snapped out of my little world. "Are you checking me out?",she said in a teasing manner. " You wish",I said and rolled my eyes. "Bully",she muttered and walked away. I felt guilty but I was only joking. I ran after her and held her arm. "What do you want?",she whined like a child. "I was just joking, don't take it seriously",I said and she smiled.

"How are you today?" I asked. "Since when did you care about my well-being",she raised a curious brow. " Since the day I saved your life",I said and she giggled. We walked into the class together, calculus class.

We sat beside each other. We were both on our phones because the professor wasn't around yet."Hi Emma", someone said and I recognise that voice. It was Astrid holding a bouquet of roses with a smile on his face. "Astrid? Hi",Emma replied simply. "I'm here to give you these",He said with a smile and handed her the bouquet of roses. "Thanks?"she said. "I hope you like the flowers?" Astrid asked and she nodded.

I gave him a deep glare and he returned it. Why is he here giving her flowers?! "So I was hoping if you will like to...", Astrid was saying but I cut him off. " About the kiss we had yesterday, Emma",I said and Emma's face flushed. Astrid's eyes widened in shock.
