Chapter twenty nine

Lucas's pov
The moment Emma asked me who I am my heart skipped a beat. I didn't know what to tell her but I had no choice. I had to say something so I lied and told her I am a prince. She is worried and I understand her.

She is confused about everything happening. Especially between Astrid and i. What Chris said also triggered the worries but everything is under control. The only issue at hand is that Astrid visited Emma's mother.

I do not know her mother but I hope Astrid didn't go there to hurt her. I heard a knock on my door and I sighed. I'm not in the mood to talk to anyone right now but I have no choice. "Come in",I said and the door opened gently. It was Chris.

"Hey", he said and sat on a couch beside my bed. "What's it?"I raised a curious brow. "I'm sorry about what happened earlier. Eva is just immature and she doesn't understand what's really going on",he apologized.

"I understand, she is your mate and the urge to always protect you will be there",I said. " So how's Emma?"he asked and I sighed. " She asked questions. She asked about who I am and I told her am a prince",I said.

" Oh, did she ask where you are from?"he asked and I nodded. "Damn! I'm sorry, I caused all these",he blamed himself and i cut him off. " You didn't, she was just curious and it's normal of her to be. She doesn't know anything about us",I said.

" Okay. Where is she now? Is she home now?" He asked me. " She went to the hospital to visit my mom. I even gave her my car but I will go to her house to get my car back later in the day. Astrid visited her mom yesterday",I stated and Chris frowned.

" He did what? How did he know her mom?" He asked and I shrugged. " I don't know how he did. I just hope her mom is okay. I don't trust that guy",I replied." Many things are going on at time",he sighed. "It's destiny, we are destined for this",I said.

" So what do we do about this Astrid guy? You can't let everything he says get to you. You will end up hurting yourself",he advised.

" I know but the moment he said he was going to take Emma from me. I just lost control of myself",I said. " This means your wolf is awake but he is still inactive",he said and I nodded. " I have to protect Emma with everything I have in me. This girl is my mate, she is my life, she is my future. Our future in blackwood pack. Without her by my side, we are ruined", I muttered.

" I know, Lucas and we are also trying our best. We will protect our future Luna with everything we have. All you have to do is make her love you. The faster, the better",he said.

" I will try my best and she is warming up to me already. I just want to keep her away from that Astrid guy. I'm sure he will be planning something bad by now",I groaned.

" Can't we just kill him? Ugh! I know that's not possible. He cannot be killed, if we do that. The two pack will clash and a lot of lives will go for it",he said. " We can't risk the lives of our people, we just have to best smart with what we are doing",I added.

" And we have to be fast with it. When Emma falls in love with you then we can tell her about our true identity and am sure she will accept us",he said. " Yeah, I hope so",I shrugged and checked the time.

Emma has left this place for the past two hours and she hasn't called me. "Are you okay?" Chris asked. "I need to go check on Emma. I have this weird feeling that something is wrong with her",I replied.

" How do you intend to go? There's no car",he said. " You can turn into a wolf and take me there",I suggested and he gasped. " Do you think that's safe? What if people see us?"he asked. " Nobody can see us. You will be fast with it, you will go from rooftops to rooftops. Her house is not far from here",I assured him.

" I will go shift in the sitting room then",he said and I nodded. As he left, i quickly changed my clothes to fresh ones and grabbed my phone. Chris has shifted by the time I got to the sitting room. Eva was just looking to his wolf form in awe.

"We have to go now. Your mate will join you soon but please you have to make sure you lock the door as we leave now",I said and she nodded. I touched Chris's fur and he let out a growl. I climbed on him and he ran immediately.

He climbed on rooftops, from rooftops to rooftops on full speed. I was feeling dizzy but the experience was fun. When we got to Emma's house. He stopped at the roof top and I managed to jump down without hurting myself.

Chris ran back to avoid been seen. I walked slowly to the door and I began to hear voices. Emma was yelling at someone. I rushed inside immediately.

I saw Astrid standing in her sitting room and my mind went blank. What the fuck is he doing here? Why can't he even get away from her for a second? "Lucas",Emma ran towards me and gave me a hug.

"I wrapped my arms round her and gave Astrid a glare." What are you doing here?" I asked him and his face was also red. It was obvious that he is so angry. "What am doing here is none of your concern",he snapped.

Emma raised her head and looked up to me. " Did he touch you?" I asked her and she shook her head. "Astrid, leave this house this minute before I do something you will regret",I warned. He hissed and walked out of the house. How did he even know her house? She is not safe here anymore.

I was lost in thoughts but was pulled out of it when Emma attacked me with a kiss.
