Ashina POV

The park wolves ran to call estel while I waited for her, there were over a hundred wolves before me, their eyes glued to the podium where I sat.
Everyday brought its challenge,and today of all days was the worst. It was bad enough having to beat the pain while I was inside. Now I had to smile , while holding the tears from falling down my cheeks, my eyes occasionally glancing at the roof.

I wanted to suck the tears back in, but each attempt was futile , I began fanning myself, when the guards asked why?I told them it was because of the crowded space and possibly an allergy but I was dying inside. I wanted to fall to the floor because my bones felt like it was constantly being slammed on metal.
‘Maybe I should beg him to reject me, I would pretend to be his wife, but I can’t… I can’t’ these thought and many more crossed my mind, but I knew deep down that I could not accomplish anyone, I wasn’t bold enough to look him in the eye and beg him to cause me more pain by rejecting me, I could not beg him to stop.
“Luna” estel said as she ran towards my direction, I rose from my seat then pulled her in for a hug, my heavy tears dropped on the fabric over her shoulders, I dare no make a sound, but I could tell she felt my pain, her hands wrapped tightly around my back she squeezed a little bit harder.
“Please” I begged.

She nodded in response, then pulled the scarf over her shoulder, she cleaned my face with it then wrapped it around my face.
“ It is laced with soothing herb oil, it will ease the pain” she said .
“Thank you” I said. She nodded then walked out of the compartment.
Now I was stuck in a crowd, totally unwilling to say a word, but I was given a microphone, and a chair.
“Welcome everyone” I said in a tone far from what my voice would usually sound like, I spoke few words through but wrenching pain, and when I could not, I took a break then walked out out of the compartment, leaving the people in suspense, I was already hearing curious whispers.
“Luna,” a guard said.
“Speak”
“The alpha, he demands your present, now”
“What?”
Confused, why would Lobo want to see me, fear engulfed my heart, does he know about Estel?no it can't be possible, it was too early to catch Estel, maybe I was just overreacting, he must want to caution me because I organised a park meeting but maybe if I explained to him. The importance he would listen to me and won't make a fuss out of it.
“Fine, I would be there in a minute”

“No Luna, the alpha made it clear you should see him with immediate effect”
“Well,” a long sigh escaped my lips as I stood up from where I sat, most time I forget how heartless lobo could be, he knew how weak i would be after he had just defiled our bond, he was aware I would be outside the park house in pain yet he behaved like I was completely made of steel.

I wanted to say how much I hated him, but I could not, I could not get myself to hate him.
I followed the guards to the park house, then I was led through the path leading to the park dungeon.
The more I proceeded inside, I got a clearer image of what I should be expecting.

I tried to mind link with Estel but I could not sense her anywhere, rather the cohesive scent of rusted metal filed its way through my nose.
The scent of wolfsbane made my belly knot in disgust.

“Do you have an idea why the Alpha called me?” I asked the guards, but he gave no response. I might be the Luna, but I was above everybody but the Alpha, so my question was invalid if the Alpha had commanded him to stay mute.

My hopes fell right through, I just had to hope for the best and expect the worst.
Maybe he wanted to show me a criminal, or maybe something that had to do with my park, maybe…
The last turn led me straight to where Lobo stood, at the sight of him standing feet away, I felt my entire body freeze in fear, I stopped at a spot, and my body jittered in sheer anticipation.
His glare expelled menace, whatever it was that he wanted to show me seemed like it could kill me, I didn't want to move any further I wanted to run away, but the palace guard shoved me.
“Hey!” I shoved him back.

“Ashina!” Lobo sparked furiously, the whole cell shook in terror.
“Come here now!” he commanded, using his Alpha command, he compelled me to approach him. Reluctantly I moved a step further, I felt my life seep away from me with each step I took.
Tears trickling down my eyes, my lips trembled in fright, I muttered the words please.

I feared he would hit me, I feared it might be an allegation, and worse of all, I haven't gotten any news from estel.
“Leave” he told all the guards in our presence,my fear worsened. The only time he didn't like to have anyone around us was when he wanted to hit me or abuse me.
My suspicions were right, it wasn’t a peace offering. The guards left, and I was left alone with him and whatever he wanted to show me.
As I approached him, he pulled me by my hands, and soon his strong fist was wrapped around my neck.

“You bitch! So you have your servant spying on me now huh!” He pushed me, my head hit the iron gate of the cell.
“You think you are smart right?!” He pulled me by my hair again, his hands wrapped around my neck.
“I will show you how I treat people who disobey me”
