The Burden of Leadership

Alpha Lobo POV


Her question had me in a haze for a second. Meera wasn’t the type to be easily convinced, she wanted to have this child so bad, I knew she wanted to take Ashina place, but I had a feeling she was still alive, and Meera was a deadbeat to me, she didn’t fit to be my Luna, u had driven this park so far to leave it in the hands of a careless teenager.


“I know you are worried, but the people only listen to you. No matter what you do they will always be sired to you and that’s it, so cheer up” she coaxed me with her hands, gently patting my head, as I stared at her in contempt, the last thing I wanted was her, but I could not push her away.


I was too focused on Sabrina’s threat, and how much of a failure I would become in days from now, having to call the tumult in the park about Meera pregnancy after days of Anishas disappearance, the park would have so much to say, I needed their loyalty, I could not risk it.



“Remove it”


“What!, you must be out of your mind!”


“Meera I can’t afford to have another child, see it from my point of view, Anisha just left days ago, we can’t talk about a child or a wedding, what would your parents think of me”



“They don’t care about my sister, you know that,”


True…


“But they care about your reputation, no one will regard you if they knew you stepped in so fast, so why don’t you do something for the work members, and gain their trust, it won’t be hard since you are the sister to the past Luna”



“You are a cunny bastard!” She yelled as she tossed the pillows at me.


“First you maltreat my sister, then you want to do the same to me, if you miss her that much why don’t you go search for her huh?Why are you comparing me to her! I never want to be like her never!” She continued.


“Well, that’s all I can say for now, I am not comparing you to her, I am just saying you should be sensible about this situation”


“So I am now senseless right?, you are calling me dumb right!” She shoved me violently, it was taking me all I had not to pin her to the floor and smack the hell out of her, but her petite figure acted like a thorn in my flesh, she wasn’t as strong as Anisha, she would die.


“Meera…”


“DON’T!” She shoved me again, this time even proceeding to destroy the room, I watched her act mad, in regret. Ever since Anisha left she had been dramatic. Maybe she wanted to get on my nerves but whatever she was up to, it was certain she had attained it.

Too weak to argue I just lay down on my bed, thinking about how I had let everything fall apart, I could now feel the poison move in my body, it was spreading and for the first time in a long while I actually felt feverish.


What if Sabrina tells everyone she gave me powers, what if zeeb takes control, and I became totally powerless, the thought had me clenching my hands.


“Lobo” meera fell on my body again she began to cry, “you are keeping me quiet because you don’t want to change your mind, you don’t love me, you don’t love me at all”


A long sigh escaped my lips as I pulled her away from body, “can you please leave me alone, for a day”


“No!, I am pregnant for your child!I am pregnant for your heir, and you think I would leave?No, you have to declare to the park that you want to start a relationship with me. Yesterday the servants didn’t respect me,and I could not retaliate because I am not their Luna, I am powerless” she continued crying.


“It’s too early”


“Then if you are so afraid or the peasants I will tell them!, then I will tell then how you killed Estel, and how you beat the Luna they fell in love with, and you dare, you can kill me too, I want to see how they would serve you win out a doubt in the park, I will destroy everything you ever have even if it takes my life!!”


In a haste I jerked from my bed, rushing her I closed her mouth with my hands, stopping her from spewing more nonsense, someone might be out there listening to her for all I care and she would not stop talking.


“What wrong with you”

She fought till she broke free from my hands, “you caused it, let me go”shoving me again, I let her go this time my finger shoved into my as frustration took place in my mind.


“Marry me!, tell the park that I would be their next Luna that’s all, besides the park can’t stay without an active line and you know, you need me,I can do more than my sister, I can help the park see any trouble ahead and you know that!”


Lies, she had started with her lies once more, Sabrina had told me she wasn’t the one assigned to see the future, but here she was making it up, it made me wonder how much she was going to lie.


“If that’s what you want, then you can have it, but at least stop lying” I said as I approached her, totally defeated, u could always reject her when I was finally out of this tunnel but for now she had me on chokehold.


“Lie?”


“I know it’s Anisha who sees the future and not you, so stop lying, I won’t judge” . Taking her hands I walked out of the door as we proceeded to tell the park about her becoming the next Luna and also my bride.
