Naked
I thought that at some point in time when I was thrusting into her, that I had felt the presence of my mate nearby. I thought that it couldn’t be possible, because she was not supposed to begin moving around so quickly, and so I had chased the distraction away from my mind and I continued ramming the one that I truly loved—the one that I wanted…
She was moaning under me with great delight, and I was thinking about how much better this was, than trying to stuff myself into Ashina who was always as cold and lifeless as a fish. I had finished and I was sitting on the side of the bed, trying to catch my breath.
“Lobo,” she said as she ran a hand lovingly across my back.
I could feel her ministrations already, and below me, I was beginning to stir. Even after all our lovemaking sessions, she still was not tired. I smiled. The Goddess had truly blessed me with her. It was one of the things that I absolutely loved about her. She was willing and ready to satisfy me in every regard, but not only that, she also took great pleasure in it and would not stop until she was certain that I was fulfilled.
I held her hand in a quick move and pinned her under me again. I grinned at her as her fingers stroked the hair on my chest. I was definitely feeling more and more inclined to go for another round with her.
“…About Ashina,” she said, and instantly, my mood changed.
“What about her?” I asked gruffly.
She was quick to perceive my reaction and shook her head, running her hands across my back and over my chest again.
“It’s nothing,” she said. But the mood had already been killed.
“If it’s nothing, then don’t mention it in the first place,” I huffed and got out of bed. She got out with me, not bothering to cover her nakedness. I knew that this was her ploy to get me to accept that she was sorry, but she had really killed the entire mood when she mentioned the name of my mate.
“I’m sorry, Lobo.” She said. “It’s just that… I don’t know if this decision you’re making is the right one, really.”
Her naked body was a tempting sight and I drew her closer to me, sniffing at her hair, scenting the pheromones in the air—
“Getting Ashina pregnant seems… I don’t know what word to use to describe it. I’m just worried that you might leave me for her when she has your heir.”
I pulled away. “This again? How many times do I need to tell you that there will be nothing that can separate us? Ashina is only so I can have an heir with her abilities. Nothing more, nothing less. Why do you worry about this?”
She looked like she believed my words, but she was not pacified, and I felt myself getting angry.
“Look,” I said. “You can either choose to believe me or don’t. But Ashina will give birth in a few months, and then we will know if I’m not a man of my words. You’re making me question if you really want to be with me.”
She was kneeling in front of me in a second.
“Of course I want to be with you!” she exclaimed. “I want to spend my every moment with you. Now and forever.”
“Good,” I said. “So don’t worry about Ashina. I can deal with her.”
“I don’t doubt you,” she said and wrapped me in an embrace from the back. “Do you want to continue…”
“Later,” I said as I put on a bathrobe. I needed to get out and clear my head.
As I walked down the hall, I thought I heard voices and the sound of conversation, so I walked until I came upon Ashina, with her head downcast, and Estel who was smiling sheepishly.
“What are you doing here?” I asked. Instinctively, they both flinched and turned to me.
I followed Estel’s movements with my eyes, but Ashina was the person I was interested in. Her face looked like she had been crying and her eyes were round and wet.
“Ennui,” she said. I stared at her, my voice low.
“And what’s that got to do with anything?” I asked.
“My king, she—“ Estel began, but I silenced her.
“Is that coffee by your side, Ashina?” I raged. “Are you trying to kill my baby? My only heir?!”
“What?” Ashina yelped. “No, my love. I wasn’t drinking the coffee. I was just smelling it—the coffee helps to get rid of the sickness and dizzy spells…”
“So you’re saying my seed is what’s making you weak and sick?”
Ashina opened her mouth and closed it several times, and I found my anger increasing.
“Well, I suppose that’s my fault then. I had to choose you for a mate, even as weak as you are.” I scoffed and turned. “You had better get used to carrying my heir. My blood will strengthen you, but make no mistake—if any harm comes to my heir, this won’t be the last you hear of me. I will make sure the shield around your hometown is torn down, and I will personally make you watch as the Rewa rogues invade your home, and desecrate it. Maybe they’ll even do something to your mother—something your father might be weak to consider… hey! Are you listening to me?”
Ashina’s head was hung low. She crawled to my side and held my knees.
“Please, my love. I’ll do everything you’ve asked. Don’t be angry anymore. I’ll get rid of the coffee if you want, and I won’t be sick anymore.”
She gave me a weak smile that I found more disgusting than looking at her.
“I just want to make you happy.” She ended.
“Good,” I snarled. Then I suddenly felt like laughing. “Look how much fun it is in here. Aren’t you happy, Estel? Everybody’s happy. We can all be happy forever as long as you all obey my instructions and follow my rules. That’s just it. Easy peasy.”
I walked away, then I turned back, “And Ashina,” I said, “don’t be late in coming back to bed. You need to rest, after all.”
“Of course, my king.” she whimpered.
