Chapter 28
DAVINA
"You saw the way your brother defended her like she was important. She must have fed him with lies. How I despise her!" I fumed in anger.
I saw that bitch leave this morning and notified Madeline. I followed her enough till Madeline caught up with me. I wanted us to deal with her but Jayden stepped in. It hurts so bad to know that he even defends her from us. He threatened his sister, he scared us so much that I almost ran away.
I have never seen him that angry before. He looked so cold and deadly, I felt like crying when he insulted me for her.
"You should remain calm Davina. Now that I've seen things for myself, I have better plans for them. I won't let that bitch be with my brother for long." Madeline assured me calmly.
I can't calm down. She is still with him. The thought that they are together makes my blood boil. He has refused to be with any other woman all these years because of me. I could have found my way to his heart easily if she was not on the way.
"What are we going to do? You said your brother hasn't kept a woman for this long in ten years. How do we get rid of her before she completely turns him against everyone?" I asked worried.
Madeline scoffed, "You should be able to think. It's quite easy to use her weakness against her. She made things easier for us by being a whore. We just have to play our cards well."
"That's exactly why I can't stand her. She's a freaking whore!"
"Patience Davina. I've got a plan." She smirked.
•••••
I stood at the entrance of the room contemplating on knocking on the door or not. We went to the meeting together today, he did not even look at me. They hurts deeply than a bullet wound. I don't know how long he wants me to pay for my past mistakes. I love him nonetheless.
I am willing to wait. I'll do anything to have him back. I'll do anything to make him look at me the way he used to before. I'll do anything to make him love me the way he used to.
Anything.
I wanted to knock when the door suddenly opened. Here he is. Standing before me, looking so heavenly I want to kiss him. Thank goodnessss he's not giving me cold looks or frowning this time around.
"Hi." I said.
"What are you doing here Davina?" He crossed his arms around his broad chest.
"To see you. We need to talk."
"The only thing we can talk about is business, and I have an assistant you can complain to. Other than that, there's nothing else to talk about. I hope I'm making sense?"
No you're not. I wanted to say to him but I kept shut.
"Jayden, I came on a friendly note. I am tired of getting the silent treatment from you. Just give me a chance to prove myself. I have changed, I am sorry. I want us to be friends again. I haven't had peace for ten years now, please I need my peace. Help me Jayden." I cried to attract his emotions.
His face dropped. He didn't say a word so I took the opportunity to hug him. His scent filled my nostrils, it's been so long but he still smells sweet. He has grown much bigger than before though.
"Fine." He pulled me away, "I have forgiven you. I can't keep the grudge forever anyways. I have healed and decided to let go of the past. So stop crying."
"Really? You've forgiven me? Does this mean we can be friends again? No hatred, no cold shoulders?" I asked with a glint of hope.
He nodded. I hugged him again happily, his body stiffened so I disengaged.
"Sorry. I was excited."
"I can see that. I have to go back inside now. I thought someone was lurking around so I decided to check. That's why I'm out, later?"
I'm a bit disappointed. Yet I'm not giving up. This is a huge turn of events and progress for me.
"Um. Can we...have a drink together later on? You know...to be sure you've fully forgiven me."
"Sure." He said after hesitating.
I smiled. "Don't worry. The bills are on me, I'm treating you. You deserve it, I mean I owe you one."
"I totally understand Davina. I'll see you later. Excuse me."
I smiled while he shut the door. My smile faded immediately when I thought of that bitch. She must be in there feeling like a queen. That's supposed to be my place.
Patience like Madeline advised. I'll kick her out in no time. To think that he chose to be with a slut over me. I'm way decent than her. Whatever I did in my life was to make things easier for me, everything is hard to get.
I went back to my room to give her the good news.
"I made it Madeline. Your brother has forgiven me. He even accepted my offer to treat him to a drink. He now talks calmly with me." I squealed excited.
She smirked, "I told you it's going to work. My brother may be cold, he's not heartless. He's got a soft spot if only you can cross to that side."
"I did cross that side. If only I had not done what I did to him. We could have been happy now, this is my regret everyday." I sighed sadly.
"Everyone makes mistakes. That's something big you did, yet you're better than that girl. He once loved you, he still can. It's better to be safe than sorry."
I'm so glad I have Madeline's support now. I never thought she'd give me a chance considering that she's a spoilt brat and extra rude to everyone. I can't stand her sometimes, but for now I'll use her to achieve my aim.
"I hope you mean all you say though. I wouldn't want to blame myself if my brother falls into another mistake."
"He won't." I assured her.
••••••
••Hi. It's Davina. I was wondering if we could have that drink now at the bar?••
I sent him a text to meet me at the bar for a drink. I don't want to be far from this hotel because of the plan. Madeline gave me enough tips to convince him. I have to be very patient and act nicely.
She also gave me his personal number, I texted hoping he'll reply. That'll be much better in assuring me he's no longer mad at me.
I got lucky. I received his reply a few minutes later and jumped for joy. Madeline's no longer in the room with me so I'm celebrating all by myself.
••Yeah. Meet me in twenty minutes••
He suddenly became so nice after scolding us today. I didn't make the wrong decision by asking Madeline for help. I quickly dressed up and made myself very beautiful. Then rushed out. I waited for him at the bar fifteen minutes later, he arrived at the exact time he gave me.
That's one thing I admire about him from the beginning. He's always on time.
"Hi." I smiled on seeing him.
He sat down beside me, we're at the counter.
"Hey. I'm here. Where's our drink?" He asked calmly.
I nodded, "Oh yes. Um... I don't know your favorite so..."
"It's still the same." He told me.
My eyes widened in shock. I pushed him into taking alcohol in highschool. He still likes the same drink I made him take since then? I blushed at the thought, I have always been in his heart and never left. He still loves me. Why won't that bitch just leave us? We deserve to be together.
"Wow. I didn't know... I'm speechless."
"You made me like it remember? Before you ruined everything."
Oh no. He's going to get mad at me again.
