DAVINA
(Continued)
The door opened an hour later and my friend came in. She had shopping bags with her and a wide smile on her face.
"Hey Davina, what's up with you? You luck unhappy?" She asked noticing my mood.
"Jayden still doesn't want to accept me. I don't know what I'm supposed to do anymore." I told her sadly.
She Shook her head, "Seriously Davina? Like the same Jayden who you said suspended you from work after the dirty things you did with his sister? Aren't you supposed to give up on hom now? He doesn't want to be with you anymore. You should read the signs yourself and stop doing things that will embarrass you. I told you all this before, let him go." She Scolded and advised.
I know she wasn't going to give me any encouraging words. Sometimes I wonder if she cares about me at all or she's just pretending to.
"You are not making me feel better you know? You Should just forget I said anything to you. l feel worse already thanks to you."
"I am the only one who can tell you the truth. That is to stop doing whatever you are doing Davina, l may not be there to help you when things get out of hand, I hope you listen to me someday. I'll be in my room now, excuse me." She took her shopping bags and walked away majestically.
Just wait and see. I am going to prove to you that Jayden and I are meant to be. Nothing will stand in my way of being with him, that's a promise.

I got a call from Madeline by evening. She wanted us to have dinner together. I dressed up and went out to meet her. Jerry has decided to let us go since he now has nothing on us. At least we helped him with his plans of getting Carla for himself. Now he can focus on getting her and making her stay away from my freaking man that shameless slut.
The cab stopped at our usual spot. I went inside and waited for Madeline. She is not here yet. So I ordered pineapple juice for myself, I can't have alcohol tonight. I am simply tired of everything but getting drunk would not be a preferable solution.
"Where are you Madeline?" I muttered looking around.
"Behind you." She said startling me. I almost jumped on my seat because of how sneaky she is.
"Stop doing that! You're going to send me to my early grave on of these days." I complained holding my beating chest.
"If you are this soft and easily scared, how are you supposed to get my brother's heart back? I wonder what you did to make him fall for you in the first place." She replied sitting down.
"Falling in love and scaring people creepily are two different things. Stop comparing them." I told her.
She waved it off, "Tell me, what happened between you and Jayden earlier? He came back to the ward looking so angry. I couldn't ask him because he refused to say anything."
"Nothing happened. He is probably mad that he got betrayed again. I guess he's not ready to adjust or see me yet."
"We have to start plan B." She stated.
I raised my brow in confusion, what's plan B? I haven't planned that yet and we have not talked about it. Why is she mentioning plan B?
"I have no idea what plan B is? We didn't plan that. If you could just enlighten me."
She burst into a loud laughter, then stopped laughing giving me a fierce glare.
"Are you being stupid Davina? He's not just going to come back to you because he broke up with his girlfriend. You have to step up your game, do it the easy but hard way."
I still don't understand what she's talking about. Madeline is fond of insulting people and she would insult me if I were to say anything to her.
"You look puzzled. Anyways, I'll help you out. From now on, make sure you're good friends with Jayden. You have to make him feel like you want nothing to do with him other than friendship. Apologize to him and offer your hand in friendship, tell him you will apologise to that slut so he'd believe you." She added.
"Won't he suspect I'm up to something. Your brother's not a stupid man Madeline. That will not work on him. He doesn't even want to see me near him, he despises me. I don't want to talk about how he insults me everytime he sees me." I complained.
She snarled at me, "Don't you think you're way too stupid for your looks? You should know what to do and not expect me to help you with everything."
Becoming friends with Jayden is such a great idea, until he suspects I'm only getting close to him for my own needs.
"Don't you think that idea is too risky. Your brother would not spare me if he notices that I tried to mess with him again. I would not risk that."
She stood up, "I would take my leave now. I should have dinner elsewhere since all I am seeing here is stupidity."
I pulled her back to the seat, "Stop being too harsh okay? I need your help with this."
"Whatever. No risk, no reward. You have to do things on your own for now, I cant always help you with things. I'm going to be very busy from now on. Focus on getting my brother while I focus on getting my own goals." She said and walked away.
What does she mean by her own ambitions? I've been wanting to know what this ambitions is all about, she doesn't ever open up to me. Something tells me she's up to something fishy, I am going to be very watchful. I will find out what she is hiding, at the same time also get Jayden for myself.
JERRY
Things are not going like I anticipated. I wanted this to work badly so Carla would come back to me, but she only keeps getting distant from me. She has refused to see or talk to me, at least her friend has been trying to help me get to her but she won't let him out of her mind. I know this would only be for a short time, she would get over him as time goes by. I would make sure of that, I won't let him take everything from me.
Even though his father stayed with my mother all these years, he still preferred Jayden and his family to us. He is proud of everything Jaydon achieved and says he regrets leaviing his beloved wife for his mistress, he does this everytime there is a fight with my mom. I envy the fact that he has the love of his parents. Both his mom and dad wanted him, that's not the case with me.
My father never wanted me, my mom was a slut who worked in a night club as a stripper. My father was just one of her random clients but he was the only one allowed to have sex with her without using form of protection. This is because she liked him then and she was into him. She forgot to take her pills and ended up getting pregnant. She told him about it, he told her to get rid of me that he never wanted a baby.
It was at this time mom also found out he was a married man. Mom vowed to get her revenge on him, she did so by getting his sister is marriage. Her husband fell for my mom and he left his family for us. Of course mom did a lot of things to put their marriage in disorder and made him file for a divorce. Yes, Jayden's mother is my aunt and my biological father's sister. They both don't know that I exist, they don't know the truth about my background yet.
Mom only told me all these when I turned eighteen. I have seen the one who is my father several times, he doesn't recognize me. I have the looks of my mother, but my father's figure. I scolded mom at first but seeing her pain, I understand why she did what she did to them. They deserve everything they got, my mom and I were hurt too.
Jayden has always been a pain in my life. I acquired all my wealth thanks to his father who is now on his death bed. We don't know if he would live or not, one thing's certain though. He would die if he found out what my mom has done to him. Mom has learnt to fall in love with him, she's scared to lose him especially to his family.
He actually begged me to relay that message to Jayden secretly. I had agreed to do it simply to annoy Jayden, because I know he works be unhappy to hear about his father. And I succeeded.
My car stopped in front of the restaurant where I invited Joyce to have lunch with me. She is the only person closest to Carla, and my only way of communicating with her. I walked into the restaurant and found her already waiting for me. She just be mad at me for keeping her waiting, I feel guilty already. I sat with her with an apologetic expression.
"Sorry I came late Joyce. I was stuck in traffic, you must have been here for long." I apologized.
She smiled, "You don't have to apologise Jerry. I just got here too."
Oh, I wasn't expecting that. I thought she'd get mad at me or something. She's usually that aggressive, I think. Recently she has been nice to me, perhaps she wants me for her friend. She does have a good sense of humor.
"Thanks for honoring my invitation."
"It's nothing. You don't need to thank me just yet." She stated.
We ordered something to eat, then I decided to talk about the reason why we came here.
"How's Carla doing now?" I asked her.
"She is not so good to be honest. She's unhappy and hardly comes out of her room. I am worried about her, I used to think getting a boyfriend would be good for her but now I regret it. I am sorry to say this, but you are part of her sadness too." She said bluntly.
"Thank you for being honest. It was a mistake. I have tried talking to Jayden but he's not listening to me yet. I'm just worried about Carla. I am unable to sleep also, because I feel bad for everything."
She nodded, "If this is the case, why don't you let her go? If you care about her so much, why not allow her be happy with the man she chose to be with?"
That's a hard question. I can't let her be with him. I want her too, I asked her out first. She was supposed to be mine if he hadn't forced her into some sort of agreement. The more reason I don't want her to be with him, he doesn't love her. He is only using her and she refused to see that.
"I can't let go of her. If you have ever been in love before, you will understand how I feel. Her relationship with Jayden is not stable, why can't I get a chance with her?"
"Carla is very fragile even though she acts tough on the outside. I'll try and help you communicate with her, I can't guarantee anything though. I'll only try." She offered.
That made me feel at ease, she understands what I want at least. We had dinner talking about Carla and the things she likes and doesn't like. I learnt quite a few things that I intend to use in winning her over. I dropped Joyce off and drove home to meet my mother and stepfather. She has been calling my phone all day.
