Chapter 6
CARLA
After making that ridiculous offer and asking his driver to drive me home, I thought it would be best if we never see each other again. Even though I feel like my body is attracted to his, I still don't want anything to do with a psycho.
Who offers $10 million just to have a whore for six months and who keeps one whore for that long?.
His driver dropped me home and refuses to leave. I went inside eventually, I don't think Jerry would still be at the hotel waiting for me. He must have left disappointed after waiting for me or he got another girl to serve him.
This is all Jayden whatever he is called, this is all his fault.
He could have chosen anyone and he decided to choose me instead. He knows I'm not interested in him and he's making things difficult for me.
"Joyce? You're home early today. What happened? Did your boss give you the day off?." I asked Joyce as I got in.
She looked at me and that's when I noticed she looks really unhappy. What could be wrong? Don't tell me she lost her job or something.
I gasped, "Joyce did you lose your job?."
She shook her head, "Not yet but I'm about to."
I quickly sat beside her concerned. I'm happy she has a decent lifestyle, I don't want her to become a whore like me.
"Tell me what happened Joyce."
She sighed, "Apparently, the new cute investor refused to become partners with my company because of me. When I asked my boss what I did, he said I have to get my best friend to agree to his proposal or there won't be a contract anywhere."
"Wait. What do I have to do with your company? And who's this guy who wants to take you out of your job?." I asked confused.
I don't seem to understand why some random guy would say things like that to her. I don't even have an idea of who the person is.
"His name is Jayden Romans. He's the CEO of--"
"Hold it, Joyce. Are you saying that man was the one who said all this to you?." I asked unable to believe my ears.
He already knew I would decline so he put my best friend's job on the line. What stupid games does he think he's playing with me?.
"You know him, Carla? What does he want? What's his proposal?." Joyce asked desperately.
"He's asking me to be his call girl for six months with the condition of seeing no other man. And he's offering $10 million for a start." I explained.
Joyce stared at me weirdly. Maybe she's thinking it's a joke just like I am. To say he's not a psycho would be an understatement.
"What? Ten million is a lot of money just to have you for six months. That's weird."
I nodded in agreement, "I already declined the offer and there's no way I'm going to take it. Good luck finding another job Joyce." "Good luck finding another suitable apartment Carla." She replied sarcastically.
"What? Are you kicking me out of OUR apartment?!."
She shook her head and brought out a paper from her pocket. My eyes widened in shock. It's a letter from the landlady asking for a huge rise in rent or we move out since the rent is due.
"Once I become jobless, you and I would have no roof over our heads since we both cannot afford the apartment anymore. I hope you understand what this means." She said and left for her room.
She is right as much as I hate to admit it. We're going to become homeless, or better still live in a very bad apartment. And my friend loves her job, this can also be a path to a breakthrough. What if he keeps his promise and makes me a rich woman?.
I could probably get more from him.
But then I still have this huge problem I am unable to erase.
Commitment.
Sticking with just one man feels like a commitment to me. I'm not used to it, I don't want to get addicted to him. He's a hot guy and he has a body to die for. That is a huge problem. These are all elements of commitment. I checked my purse to check for the card he gave to me.
I picked up my phone and called the number on the card.
He picked up after a few rings, I gave him a piece of my mind. He even had the nerve to pretend like he didn't know what was going on. That's why I slapped him immediately after I got to his place. Now that I've agreed to sign some sort of agreement contract with weird rules with him, he wants me to start immediately.
"You're trying to control my life, aren't you? I don't know what wrong I've done to you in the past. But I'm telling you there's no way I'm going to let you bring me down. I've been through things worse than you can ever imagine."
"For the last time Carla, I just want to satisfy my body. I've never wanted to have a woman again the way I want to have you. It is not my fault." He told me.
"And all this is going to end within six months, am I correct?."
"Yeah."
"We do have a deal. But you won't order me around, we're only doing business and nothing more. No strings attached."
He shrugged. I guess this isn't a bad idea after all. It's not like I am dating him and I can still do whatever I want. Once I get that money, we're changing our apartment and Joyce probably won't have to work anymore.
She can always open her own business and manage it, while I'll keep doing what I do.
I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.
"Are you hungry?." He asked after a short period of silence.
I touched my tummy. All this running and shouting has made me hungry.
"Yeah. Where's the contract anyway? And when are you going to send the money? You shouldn't waste time doing that don't you think?."
He smirked, "You will get the money. As soon as you sign the contract which will be ready by tomorrow morning."
I stood up, "Then let's see tomorrow."
"Not so fast."
He pulled me back that I landed on his hard chest and our lips touched. He immediately kissed me bringing out the fire in me. I thought I was seductive but he's worse than I am. And I just can't seem to stop him.
I don't want him to stop.
