Chapter 48

JAYDEN
I stayed with my sister all through the night. She is so much better, I had to force mom into hack home last night. Madeline helped me in taking her home. Then I watched over my sister, I kept having this gut feeling all through the night. I stopped in front of a ward yesterday, somehow I thought I saw someone who looks like Carla but soon left thinking this is just my own imagination.
This morning, I saw someone franiliar trying to hide from me I decided to wait for the person at the entrance. It happened to be Carla I bumped into, or rather she bumped into me while trying to escape. She has already denied stalking me but I know she was somehow doing something suspicious. My heart dopped on seeing her,
I didn't show any emotions either. I watched her get into the cab hurriedly, she spoke to me rudely and showed no remorse.
I made that comment about her to see her
reaction and to see if she would deny it but she didn't. She is making it clear to me that whatever she is doing is intentional.
"What are you thinking about Jayden?" Samantha asked as I got back to her ward. I handed her the snacks she requested since she hates hospital food.
I sat down beside her, "You Should eat your food and stop worrying about me. I am fine your health is more important than what you're doing right now."
She scoffed, "I am fine too, if you won't
tell me anything then stop acting like you care about me.You don't. All you feel for me is pity, that's why you keep trying to hide things from me. I am a sick girl does not mean I am handicapped or disabled to keep any emotions."
That made me feel guilty, I don't pity my sister. I only don't want her to worry about irrelevant things that would only deteriorate her health status.
"I'm Sorry Samantha lf you feel that way but that is not how I meant for things to be. I'm worried about you that's just it." I apologised to her.
She nodded, "I also care about you Jayden. I am your sister and want to share in your problems. Tell me what's wrong before I tell mom everything."
I ruffled my hair, "I saw Carla on my way out of the hospital."
Her eyes lit up making me wonder what happened, Is she supposed to be happy about this?
"Really? I am so happy to hear that Jayden! Did you two talk? Did you patch things up with her?" She asked in excitement.
"Wait Samantha, what do you mean by patching things up with her? She has been stalking me, and also she come to see her client at the hospital. What more do you need to understand that she really doesn't care about me?"
"Jayden!! I am very sure she did not say or mean whatever she said to you. I think you are being irrational and inconsiderate. You should wait till you have thoroughly investigated the whole issue before assuming things." She defended Carla.
What does Samantha see in Carla that she defends her like this? I clearly told
her everything that happend but she is defending Carla instead. Even when I broke up with Davina, she never fought for our relationship the way she is doing now.
"I think you need to eat and get some rest. This whole conversation is over." I retorted getting annoyed. The only problem is that I can't show my anger at her, else l would make things worse. She's lucky I value her a lot she's the only one who can make me control my anger when I am angry.
"Don't be such a boring person Jayden, the truth sounds bitter but I won't stop telling you the truth. I believe Carla is innocent, She is probably tired of explaining herself so she chose to leave you alone. You don't trust her enough and that's not good for a relationship" She continued defending Carla.
I sneered, "One more words from you and I will ask the doctor to give you a sleeping dose for three days. This way you'll keep your mouth shut when you're asked to." I threatened her.
"JAYDEN!!" I heard mom yell from behind me.
I looked back at her and saw her terrified expression. She must have heard me threatening Samantha as a joke and she thinks i mean it.
"Mom, bring down your voice. This is an hospital." I said rolling my eyes.
She came close to me and hit me on the head.
'Ouch!." I yelped in pain.
"How dare you threaten to make my daughter sleep for three days?! Where is that fucking doctor?! I'll sue the both of you fer conspiring to kill my beautiful daughter!" She yelled more while Samantha and I laughed at her outburst.
Mom is another drama queen we have in our family. She can be so funny even when she is seriously angry. I moved away from her to prevent another attack. She sat beside her daughter,
"My darling, how are you feeling now?' She asked Samantha checking her all over.
"I'm fine mom. Jayden and I were just joking before you come in. No need to take his words seriously. You know how he makes empty threats." She replied making me frown.
"One of these days, I'm going to carry out my threats so you both know I am serious." I scoffed.
Mom glared at me, "I'd love to see you try darling. I'll make sure I burn your mouth with a very hot rod! Such a Jerk."
This reminded me of Carla. She would always call me a Jerk whenever she is mad at me. My mood changed immediately, Samantha noticed that. I decided to go out of the ward befoce they start attacking me with questions.
"I need to see the doctor now, I'll leave you both to be alone." I said and walked out hurriedly before anyone can say anything.
I bumped into Madeline on my way, I wanted to ignore her and leave but she stopped in front of me.
"What are you doing Madeline? Get out of my way now!" I growled.
She didn't move, "For how long are you planning to treat me like an enemy? And why are you always avoiding me since last night? Is there something I'm supposed to know that you don't wanna tell me?"
I snarled at her, "There's nothing you need to know. That question is supposed to be for you. Do you have anything I need to know that you are not telling me?"
She smirked, "You don't look so happy, I mean your face was shining like the sun for the past few weeks. What's wrong? I haven't seen your alleged girlfriend either. Is this the part where I say I told you so?"
"Get something to do during your free time. You may not be smiling anymore If I decide to change my mind about you. Stay out of my business, this is a fair warning." I warned her and left.
The smile on her face already faded making me feel satisfied. She brought it upon herself, that's her problem to deal with. I found somewhere behind the hospital garden and sat there staring into space. Someone come to sit beside me, I recognize that scent anywhere. I looked at her not knowing what to do. The only thing I know is that I am not happy to see her.
"Hi Jayden, Madeline told me I could find
you here." She said noticing my mood.
Of course, Madeline is her best friend now. She now informs her about everything happening in my family. What more do I need to make my mood worse? A sister like this doesn't care about my feelings at all. All she wants to do is make my life a living hell in pretense that she cares about me.
"You Should probably go see Samantha since she is the one who is unwell." I replied coldly.
"I came to see you Jayden, you know your sister would not welcome me. I accompanied Madeline here and decided to see you."
"That still saying the same thing. I don't want to see you either, leave me alone." I snapped rudely.
Her expression showed how my words hurt her but I don't care. I already and her to stay away from me. She's just another woman who played with my feelings, It seems women never value the one who truly loves them with all their hearts.
"I know what happened between you and Carla." She said making me angrier.
Why did she have to talk about Carla or mention her name? How did she even know there's anything going on between the both of us?
"You sure have an explanation fo give Davina, l am waiting for you." | sneered.
"I sent you the video you saw. I have been watching her since you came back. I didn't intentionally do that, I only wanted you to see who she really is?" She admitted the truth.
I scoffed, "I can't believe you would stoop so low as to become a useless stalker with my sister. Get it Davina, I would never come back to you even if I am no longer with Carla. I still love her and I will find out if everything you showed me is true. Believe me, you won't want me to discover something otherwise."
She became speechless and stares at me in awe. I stood up and began working away since she has nothing else to say. Madeline just knows how to ruin my day.
DAVINA
Just when I thought things to could get better now that the stupid bitch is out of the way, things get worse for me instead. Jayden still hates me and admits to not wanting to be with me, also admitting that he still loves her that hurt more than I expected. Jayden is mine! I won't give uponhim just because of that evil slut. We planned this so well, that he's supposed to believe everything. He is supposed to come back to me, I know still feels something for me deep down.
I shouldn't take what he just said seriously, after all he's still angry that he got betrayed. I would do everything possible to make him forget about her and come back to me. I left the garden and took abcab back to the apartment. My friend is not home yet, she went for some shopping at the city mall with her boyfriend. I feel so envious of them, I haven't had a good man since I left Jayden
Jayden is the only man who made me feel better, he treated me like a queen and did anything I wanted from him. He was very popular and handsome in high school, a lot of girls wanted to be with him but the shoved them off just to be with me. There was a girl in particular also named Carla who was so obsessed with Jayden.
She was stalking him everywhere he went. I got mad after found out from my friends, threatened her and made her leave the school. We never saw her since then, that was when I broke up with Jayden thinking Mike was going to stay with me. Mike is another popular guy in school, he's a playboy but not as wanted as Jayden. We began dating through a dare at a friend's party.
At first, I didn't want to continue but I did later on on thinking he was way cooler and richer than Jayden. He made me change my mind about Jayden, at also pushed me to do terrible things I did to Jayden. Things like demanding way too much from Jayden, he even stole from his mom to make me happy. We made him look like a fool, he never for once suspected me despite the rumours. He ignored everything he heard and believed whatever told him instead.
His love forme was pure but I took him for granted. I regret everything idid, that's why I would do anything to have this wonderful man back.
