CHAPTER FOURTEEN
AVRIL
"You didn't even wait for me to conclude", Ariel said pushing me away lightly.
"What else were you going to say apart from, you've found something to take the warewolf blood away from mine?" I asked Ariel excitedly.
Ariel shook his head and stood up, he walked slowly but steadily towards the chemicals he had mixed and left on the table. My eyes were fixed on him the whole time, I didn't even blink.
I loved the way Ariel moved his body, his steps tickled my fancy.
"Truly I found something but I am not sure if it's going to work, it would either work or destroy the warewolf. We can't try this on you, we have to find an animal", Ariel said.
I stood up and walked to him. I picked the chemicals and examined them one after another.
"Where do we find an animal to use for this experiment?" I asked peering into Ariel's worried face.
"Besides I don't want us to hurt innocent animals because of our silly experiments, I am not sure I am ready to risk the lives of those animals for my silly experiments", I added.
"Then should we try the experiments on a human instead? Or even endanger your life? Avril everything is sacrifice none sacrificial people can't gain anything from this earth", Ariel said glaring at me.
I shook my head in disapproval... Ariel strikes me as wicked and I exhaled deeply before speaking up.
"Where do we find this animal?" I asked still not convinced that we should risk an innocent animal's life for our silly experiments we weren't even sure were going to work.
"I don't know, but there's another option", Ariel said moving his fingers gently on the table.
"What would that be?" I asked moving closer to Ariel.
He held a bowl in his hand and was staring at it like he was getting the words he spoke from looking at the bowl.
"Extracting your blood", he replied.
Ariel shifted his gaze from the bowl and fixed his eyes on mine.
"Extracting my blood?" I asked wide-eyed.
Ariel nodded his gaze still fixed on mine.
"I don't understand what you mean and why you will want to extract my blood", I said shifting my eyes away from his. Staring at him directly in the eyes was getting uncomfortable.
"We'd extract your blood, pour them in a basin, add the chemicals and cover it for some time", he said hitting the basin on the table.
"What happens then?" I asked.
Ariel smiled and shook his head. He raised an eyebrow at me then returned his gaze to the bowl.
"We'd find out if the blood will separate or not", he finally said.
"You think that is going to work?" I asked.
"You already think it won't?" Ariel asked back.
I shook my head trying to clear the doubt in my head.
"This is a better idea, we don't have to kill animals", I said excitedly, Ariel shook his head.
"As I said earlier do not get your hopes up, we are only trying things out here. I don't want you to get disappointed if this doesn't work", Ariel said placing his right hand on my shoulder.
"I do understand", I replied and hugged him.

Things were no longer normal. In school, at home and with me both physically mentally and spiritually.
I tried hard to balance my love for Ariel and Chris. Avoiding Chris when necessary and not letting him feel he wasn't loved.
Sally and I avoided each other like a plague, she changed her seat and moved to the back seat swapping seats with one of the students who sat almost at the extreme.
It wasn't easy seeing Sally every day and not speaking to her. Sometimes I wondered why Sally was so childish.
I missed Sally so so much, things weren't the same without her beside me.
She was the only friend I had and I felt way too lonely without her. I'd walk to the canteen and back alone except when I bumped into Ariel or Chris and sometimes both of them which do not actually end well. Most of the time I pray silently I don't bump into them together or better still not bump into any of them at all.

I stood in front of my mirror admiring my beauty. It was late but I didn't want to go to bed just yet. I was having a party at home on Friday, I'd be inviting my schoolmates.
I sat on a stool in front of my mirror, and my face fell. I still looked cute even though I was sad.
My friend Sally won't be coming to my party, and her friends from her neighbourhood wouldn't be coming either.
Sally played a big role in the parties I organized in the past, who was going to help me now?
I wasn't sure if students were going to turn up that much since Sally wasn't coming. Sally was the one to help me share invitation cards with most people I don't talk to.
Anyways I'm sure going to be able to do it since I have a charming smile and I was good at luring people with it.
I smiled broadly and stared into the mirror to see how pretty I looked. Indeed I am really a pretty soul.
My eyes caught something running past my window. Something in me knew it was a warewolf.
I knew one when I saw it, only werewolves can be that fast. My mind immediately flashed to the woman that was killed by a warewolf right next to our house...
'Wait! What if she was killed by this warewolf?' I thought.
I stood up immediately and rushed to the window, I peeped through my glass but the creature was nowhere to be found.
"What was that?" I said aloud.
I closed the window and the curtain and turned to leave... Just then I heard a loud knock on the doors that made my heart almost jump out of my chest.
"Who is there?" I asked picking up my shoe.
"It's me Chris", I heard Chris's voice from outside.
I heaved a deep sigh of relief before going to open the door.
"What are you doing here? How did you get here?" I asked making space for Chris to come in, I closed the door afterwards.
"I wanted to see you", he replied smiling.
"How did you get in? Where is Ariel? Did he see you come in here?", I asked him without waiting for a reply.
"One question at a time love", he replied smiling "can I sit?" He asked before taking his sit on the couch in my room.
"You already did", I replied and went to sit beside him.
I stared at Chris suspiciously, his breath was as if he had been running.
"You ran?" I asked him.
"About Ariel, yes I saw him and he almost swallowed me but all thanks to your mom, she let me in", Chris replied avoiding my question.
"You didn't come with your bike", I said.
"Yes, I took a cab", Chris replied. I knew he was lying.
"Oh, you did?" I asked and forced a smile.
"I got the invitation to your party, I wanted to inform you that I wouldn't be available", he said.
"You should have texted me", I said.
"That was an excuse to see you. I missed you, I guess you don't miss me", Chris said sadly...
"No.. no Chris, not that, I was only surprised to see you", I replied holding Chris's hands.
"You said you won't make it to my party. I wanted to introduce you to everyone as my boyfriend. Can't you make it? Please..." I pleaded to shake Chris's hands.
"Hmm... I just have to think about it then make a decision", he said...
I took Chris's hands in mine and squeezed them gently.
"You have to make it to the party please, I really need you at that party... There's no way it would be complete without you", I pleaded.
"Beg me some more", he replied wearing a really cute smile.
"You are really something", I said and gave him a soft punch.
He chuckled and stared at me weirdly. I took my eyes away from him immediately.
"Don't stare at me like that", I said.
"You look really cute when you plead, I'd always make you plead". He said and chuckled.
"Thanks for coming to see me", I mumbled weakly.
"I also wanted to exercise my body, you won't believe I jogged all the way here", Chris replied smiling.
I stared at him with doubt but didn't utter a word.
"This was just an excuse to see you, I missed you badly and you no longer have time for me", he said and hugged me.
"I didn't want to disturb your rehearsals", I lied.
"It's fine, I'd be on my way, bye love", he replied and stood up to leave, I hugged him again before he left.
Something wasn't right, I ransacked my brain for answers and boom!! There it was.
I stormed out of my room angrily.
