CHAPTER THIRTY NINE
CHRIS
I had told Avril to call me immediately she settles at home, it been close to an hour now, yet I didn't receive any calls from her.
I lay in bed thinking about Avril, her body was so addictive I couldn't get enough of it. I was mad at nanny Suzy, she shouldn't have come in by that time, she finished making lunch at the wrong time.
I wasn't expecting her at that time, I didn't know when I'd be able to get so intimate with Avril again, she was always so hard to get and would always push me away if it had to do with sex. Avril obviously likes my kisses and touches, but she was obviously very shy when it comes to sex.
A soft knock was heard on my door and o quickly rushed to open the door.
"Ariel what are you doing here?" I asked, I was over shocked to see Ariel by the door.
"Where is Avril?" He asked making my heart skip a bit.
"What do you mean where is Avril? She left my house a long time ago, more than an hour already. Isn't she home?" I inquired.
"Home? We were supposed to work on some chemicals today, I told her to see me immediately she returns from here, I called Jumai to ask if she went to the grocery store with her but she didn't. See Chris I decided to wait a little longer maybe she was still on her way home, but she didn't come home, she never did", Ariel lamented with all sincerity.
"Are you sure she's not home?" I asked completely clueless about where she must have branched. "Wait! I also asked Avril to call or text me when she gets home safely......"
"Did she call or text you?" Ariel interrupted.
"She never did", I said. "Something must be wrong somewhere have you tried calling her?" I asked Ariel. "Sorry please come in", I added on realising I still left Ariel standing outside the door.
"Have you called Avril?" I repeated the question and shut the door.
"Her line isn't connecting, hold on let me try it again", Ariel said and brought his phone out of his pocket. He sailed Avril's number and it started ringing.
I felt a little bit of joy in me, Ariel obviously felt the same way, it was written all over the facial expression he wore... Our happiness didn't last as her phone got switched off after ringing for a little while.
"Avril is in danger", I said in a very low and weak tone.
"She's not safe right now, I can feel it in my bones", Ariel said.
"How do we locate Avril? How are we going to find out where she is?" I asked in a faint voice.
"Avril where are you? Avril where did you go?" Ariel kept asking.
"If only I knew I would have insisted that she left with me, I would have insisted on going home with her, we wouldn't be talking about this by now", Ariel lamented and I striked him a warning glance.
"What? You couldn't take care of Avril and I left her in your care!" He barked at me.
"How dare you accuse me? How dare apportion blames rather than looking for a way out of this mess?" I asked Ariel angrily.
"Did I tell lies? Did I?" Ariel asked me taking two steps forward. "You were not capable of taking care of my sister yet you asked her to come? Why didn't you drop her home yourself? Why did you let her take a cab and you know it's dangerous?" Ariel queried.
"This is my house, this is my house Ariel and you have no right to come in here and make a hell of noise", I fired at him.
"I am making a hell of noise? Caring about my sister is a hell of noise? I always knew you never liked Avril you were only looking for someone to help take away your boredom and save you from your lonely life", Ariel fired back at me.
"You have no right to raise your voice at me in my own house, you have no right to accuse or insult me in my house Ariel so leave!"
"Wow! Wow wow wow!" Ariel exclaimed. "I can't wait to...."
"To ask Avril to break up with me? Or to tell the whole world how the two lovers got bitten by an alpha and they are now werewolves?" I asked.
"No", he replied shaking his head. "I can't wait to let Avril know how much of a weakling and less concerned human she chose to love. I can't wait to let the world know how much of a......"
"Do not say another word Ariel, do not say another world or......"
"Or what?"
"Or the both of us will live to regret it for the rest of our lives", I replied in a very low tone, it was almost in a whisper.
"I hate you!" Ariel reminded me.
"I don't like you either!" I replied. "Leave my house you are already a nuisance", I added.
"Make me", he replied closing up the little gap between us. "Make me leave I dare you Chris", he added whispering into my mouth.
"Security!" I called, I wasn't ready to leave a mark on Ariel's face, I knew what Avril's reaction would be, she was lost and we were fighting.
"You can't even do it alone? You're so weak that you can't handle a mere mortal?" He mocked.
I raised my hand to slap him but held it back immediately. "I wouldn't hit you, I will not be the one to kill you..." I was about to say something else when the security walked in and dragged Ariel out of the room.
AVRIL
Still struggling with the wolf inside of me, still struggling to breathe, still struggling to free myself... Nothing was working and I was loosing strength. I was loosing strength drastically.
I couldn't bare the pain anymore and I saw myself shedding tears, tears dropped down my cheeks freely and I couldn't help it. I breathed heavily and sniffed continuously but Jumai was not moved at all.
"Jumai for the last time, please let me go", I pleaded in a teary voice but Jumai was adamant. She had already made her decision and nothing I said would stop her.
There it went, all my human energy was gone, the ability I had to control the wolf, the little I learnt from Tyson, it was all exhausted and I couldn't help it any more.
"Jumai, Jumai please leave the room", I pleaded, that was the tiniest energy I had in me I was using to plead, I knew I was changing gradually and my claws had now grown, I felt my ear grow longer and my fangs as well.
"Jumai leave!" I groaned but she wasn't listening....
I was struggling to keep myself on the chair but I couldn't, I broke the chair and tore all the rope in shreds within a twinkle of an eye jerking up to my feet a d charging towards Jumai red eyed.
I groaned loudly shaking the whole room with my thunder voice.
I saw the fear in her eyes when I transformed into a wolf, the way she jumped to her feet with disappointment and shock written all over her face. I saw fear too, fear that I may kill her.
It was over now, the both of us are going to die afterall.
