Chris is arrested.

CHAPTER FORTY NINE
AVRIL
I sat on the couch in my room restlessly, I had felt that way the whole of the night. I couldn't pay on my bed talk more of sleeping, I just sat there thinking about Chris's safety.
I kept on thinking about different things, it's been five hours since Chris left the house, he was supposed to call me and tell me how his night went, not withstanding it's almost midnight already.
I heard the front door open forcefully, and felt my heart jump out of my chest. I immediately rushed downstairs, I knew my parents were back, I didn't know why I was so worried, especially about Chris, there was no possibility that they would find him at the mountain top, except someone told them, so who would?
I was curious, I wanted to see for myself if my parents had captured a werewolf this time, I hurried downstairs trying my best to control the rate my heart was pounding.
"Mom", I called excitedly as I got downstairs. She was the first person I saw when I got there...
"Baby", she called and hugged me. I looked behind her and saw dad holding an injured teenager with handcuffs on, and chains around his legs. My heart skipped at the sight, and I stretched my neck to have a clearer view, I knew it was Chris, I would recognize him even in my dreams but I still wanted to be sure my mind wasn't playing tricks with me.
"Dad?" I called and rushed to him. "Dad what is this? I mean what is going on here?" I asked. Dad let go of Chris and he fell to the floor, he was completely injured and mom and dad must have tortured him so much, he could not even stand on his own.
"Dad?" I called again as tears began to roll down my cheeks, I bent down beside him and helped him sit up, while I placed his head on my chest.
"You have to stay away from him", my mom said and pulled me away from Chris.
"No mom, I can't stay away from him, I don't have to", I cried as I ran back to Chris.
"This......." Mom said and paused, trying to find the best adjective to qualify Chris. "Do you know what your boyfriend is Avril? You will have to break up with him, break every bond you share and stay away from this boy", mom warned but I wasn't listening, I was only examining Chris's bruises.
"Stand up!" Dad ordered as he lifted me from the floor.
"Your boyfriend is werewolf", dad said still holding tightly unto my wrist, and I pulled my wrist forcefully away from him.
"See? She doesn't look surprised, which simply means she knew all along and she was only playing along, she has been fooling us and keeping a werewolf safe. Avril do you know what that means? How many lives you put in danger? Are you now a murderer?" Mom fired at me.
"Mom not all werewolves are bad", I defended.
"Shut up! Shut up and don't you dare talk back at me, what do you know about werewolves? What? Avril, what?" Mom barked at me. "You know what Avril, you have committed a punishable crime by siding with the werewolves, but I will just let it slide. You'll take me to their hideout and help us capture the whole pack including their alpha", mom said.
"I will do no such thing mother, I won't", I spat out.
"Oliver", mom called out on their worker, who only came around whenever they had an operation.
"Take him and lock him up, make sure he is well secured, place two securities in front of his cell, make sure no one goes to see him for any reason, also make sure he doesn't come out. I have informed his parents about this, we have fixed the meeting for tomorrow morning", mom ordered and Oliver did exactly as she had said.
Chris was dragged out of the room like a criminal, my pleas and tears fell on deaf ears, as no one even looked in my direction. Mom was so sure that I would find someone better soon and would get over Chris.
I cried the whole night as I returned to my room, I was exhausted and my tears were finished yet I didn't stop crying, my voice was gone yet I didn't stop crying.
I cried the whole night without closing my eyes in sleep, until the morning.
I had waited so much for the morning and had sneaked into my parents meeting room to hide, I wanted to hear all their conversations. I didn't have breakfast with the family, I heard Chris's parents arrive and the whole family had breakfast together. I knew everyone would be worried about me, they must have searched for me in the whole house and would think I may have harmed myself because of Chris.
The four parents moved to the meeting room, Oliver and his friend Andrew who were also werewolf hunters that worked for my family were also present at the meeting.
I could barely hear anything, apart from tiny whispers that I could not process. They talked for minutes in whispers and then they began raising their voices, Chris's mother was the first person to raise her voice.
"Never! We will never kill him, I would never give my son out to you all to kill, never!" She screamed.
"So what do we do with him? Because he can't do exist with humans, he is a threat to the life's of humans", mom said.
"Why? Just because he is a werewolf?" Chris's mom argued.
"Is he different from the werewolves you have killed? The ones I have killed? The ones we all have killed mercilessly? His he any different from them? They are dangerous and reduce humans every passing day, they can't be allowed to live", mom insisted.
Chris's mom sniffed, I could tell she had been crying.
"Have you seen him kill anyone? Do you have any prove to back up your accusations?" Chris's dad asked my mom.
"Do we have prove that every single werewolf we have killed in the past had once killed someone? Of course not, we do not have any prove. It is just something that is certain, werewolves are killers, blood suckers", my mom replied.
"So what have you concluded?" Chris's mom asked in a very cold and low tone, she sniffed afterwards.
"You all just go ahead raising your voice and not reasoning, we have come here to talk about this right? To decide on what to do with Chris, why all this shouting and arguing?" My dad asked.
"Your wife doesn't speak like we came here to talk about this, she only speaks as if she had made up her mind, she made the decision on her own and it seems she desperately wants it to stand", Chris's dad said.
"So what do you all think is the best option? What should we do with the boy?" My mom asked and every one in the room went mute. "See? I have asked you all to speak and you keep shut, say something you all bring up a better idea let's hear it, come on you all, why not come up with the best idea?" Mom asked as they all keep staring at her like she was speaking another language that only her would understand.
I wished I wasn't hiding, I would have come out and made my own suggestions. What hurts me the most right now, is that I can't even tell everyone I also is a werewolf. Not after I have sworn not to, I had made a promise to Chris.
