Convincing Tyson

CHAPTER TWENTY_ NINE
AVRIL
Chris walked up to me and sat beside me placing his hands across my shoulder.
"Ca.... can... you please pu.... put on your shirts?" I stuttered.
"Oh! That I'm sorry, Chris apologized and stood up, he picked up his shirt that was neatly hung on a line in his wardrobe and wore it.
He walked back towards me and sat beside me.
"Avril, I am not angry with you or your brother. I am only sad that when I needed it the most you both weren't able to help. You were my last bus stop and I had put all my hope in you, I really thought I'd get help from you", Chris said.
"I am really sorry that I couldn't think in the same direction as you. I thought it through last night and you were right, we have to stop the killing of werewolves", I said and Chris went agape.
He was staring at me like I was from another planet.
"Yes, I am ready to help you. We'd think of strategies together", I added with a smile.
Chris hugged me joyously, he hugged me so tightly for minutes breathing his warm and seducing breath into my ear.
He pushed me forward slightly and pecked my forehead thrice and hugged me again, I was only smiling sheepishly.
"I love you so much Avril", Chris said and I smiled.
"So where do we start?" I asked after Chris finally let go of me.
"I don't know, any suggestions?" He asked
"Uhmm.. let's ask for help from Tyson, talking to our parents will be really tough", I said.
"I have talked to Tyson but he isn't ready to help, he seems completely uninterested in the issue", Chris said sadly and my face fell.
We were both quiet for some time before Chris broke the silence.
*Talking about Tyson, do you think he bit us?" Chris asked peering into my face.
I chuckled slightly.
"What makes you think so? Why will Tyson want to bite us?" I asked.
"The same reason any other warewolf will want to bite us. Think about it Avril, our parents kill werewolves for a reason you think we wouldn't have lots of enemies who would want to turn us into werewolves?" Chris asked amazing me the more.
"He'd have killed us at the spot, rather than let us live as werewolves, Chris it's just a mere coincidence that the both of us got bitten", I replied.
"He wouldn't, that's because he wants our parents to do it themselves", Chris argued further.
"Okay let's agree with your point but it isn't Tyson, Tyson is a good person, remember I also thought you were the one right? Imagine how Tyson would feel if he found out you're suspecting him to be the alpha who bit us. By the way, Tyson isn't even an alpha", I defended Tyson.
Chris stared at me for some time as if undecided whether or not to believe me.
"Chris", I called holding his hands in mine.
"Tyson is really a good person, he's been friends with Ariel for years now and has always saved Ariel from troubles, he saved you and me when we got bitten, he's just a concerned and loving warewolf, let's not be ungrateful and pay well with evil. I stayed the whole night in his room and he did nothing to harm me, he only called Ariel to come over and get me".
Chris smiled and nodded, obviously he was convinced that Tyson isn't a bad person.
"He fought so fearlessly against his own race and the evil humans to save the innocent, I remember how he saved the school the other time. Indeed Tyson is a good person that is worthy of emulation", Chris said smiling.
"Let's talk to him again, I'd try this time. I have a feeling that he'd agree after much persuasion", I said
"Okay then, when are we going to see him?" Chris asked.
"Right away if possible", Chris replied.
"Can I call Ariel to go with us?" I asked.
I noticed Chris's countenance change.
"Do you really have to call him?" He asked.
"He'd behave himself, I'd see to that", I assured Chris and he nodded hesitantly.
I knew Chris wasn't okay with the decision, he was scared that Ariel would ruin things again, but I really wanted to fix things between them.
Chris and I agreed that we were going to visit Tyson together.. I called Chris and informed him about the plan to visit Tyson's.
He was going to meet us at the entrance to Tyson's house.
Chris and I rode on his bike, we met Ariel at the spot he agreed to meet us, he came with Jumai's bike. Together we all drove to Tyson's house.
Tyson wasn't exactly happy to see us, it was written all over his face when he opened the door to let us in.
"What brought you here?" He asked letting us in.
"We wanted to talk to you", I replied.
"Sit", he said still wearing an angry face.
"Your constant visit may put my life at stake, do I have to run somewhere else?" He asked sitting on his bed.
The three is us sat on a wooden bench in his room.
"We are sorry for disturbing you, just that we really need your help", Chris said and Ariel and I nodded.
"How may I help you?" He asked paying keen attention.
"What we talked about the other day, we came to persuade you", Chris said and paused he stared at me signalling me to continue.
"What did we speak about? Refresh my memory", he said pretending to have a memory loss.
I stared at Chris and he nodded. I breathed out heavily before speaking up.
"About bringing peace between the warewolf and human race, we can't do this alone, you're the only one who can help us right now", I said.
"How am I the only one who can help you? Am I the one killing werewolves?" Tyson asked sarcastically.
I almost burst out in laughter but held my nose in my hands to suppress the laughter in other not to annoy Chris, I looked over at Ariel who sat at the end of the bench beside Chris, he also was battling with laughter.
"We didn't say you kill them, we just need your help in convincing our....."
"I should come over and talk to your parents. Is that the new trick to get me killed? Why not just bring them over so they can capture me?" Tyson asked us and we all exchanged glances.
Tyson would pass for a stand-up comedian.
"Tyson you know that's not what we mean", Chris said.
"Tyson please we really need you", I added... Ariel had been quiet all the time we stayed there.
"So what do you mean? Make me understand please", he replied.
The three of us were quiet, the whole room went completely silent as none of us including Tyson uttered a word.
Ariel sighed, cleared his throat and spoke up for the first time since we arrived at Tyson's.
"Chris came up with this brilliant idea, which I think we should embrace of bringing peace between the warewolf and human race, although I know it's going to be very difficult nothing is impossible if much effort is put into it", Ariel paused for a while, he looked over at me and Chris, we both nodded in approval and indication that he should go on.
"Tyson, you are the only warewolf friend we have, I am sure nothing will make you happier than living in peace and being seen as one with humans, imagine living in a free world, a world filled with love between werewolves and humans, a life where humans and werewolves can Coexist, a life where humans and werewolves would live peacefully and happily growing to love each other. Realizing that they aren't enemies to each other, realizing that none is a monster", Ariel added Chris and I smiled.
"Who said that is going to make me happy? I am already very happy and satisfied with the life I already have", Tyson lied.
"You and I know that isn't true Tyson, a life of fear? And you're happy? The expression on your face when you saw us wasn't only disapproval but fear was written all over it. Tyson a life of fear isn't a good life and no one would be happy living in a prison", Chris said.
"So what do you all want me to do?" Tyson asked as if picking interest in the conversation.
"Let's put our heads together and put an end to this unending war between the warewolf and human race, we keep hurting and killing each other which isn't right, innocent humans and werewolves pay for the crimes of the evil ones", I said.
"I still don't see how I am going to play any role in this, where do I come in?" Tyson asked raising our hopes.
"Tyson we need to come together and agree, think of strategies...."
"I have an idea", Tyson said excitedly and we all stared at him anxiously.
