Why can't they get along?
CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
CHRIS
For some reason I didn't want to believe Tyson isn't an alpha, he stared at me as if he wanted to read my mind and I forced a smile.
'What if Tyson bit I and Avril?' I shoved the thoughts away immediately.
Tyson is a nice person even Ariel believes so, I shouldn't be negative all the time.
"According to you Tyson, you do not have any issues with humans and you also don't think there's a need for peace?" I asked Tyson and he smiled.
"I am okay here, my life is at peace already I do not need another kind of peace. If they have a problem with the werewolves then y'all can go ahead and settle it", he replied plainly.
"Why are you being a hard nut to crack? I know it Tyson there's an atom of goodness in you and with much pressure and persuasion you will agree and help us", I replied and stood up to leave.
There was something in the way Tyson spoke, I just can't place a finger but something doesn't just measure up.
AVRIL
I stood up and made to leave the rehearsals but Ariel caught me.
"Where are you going?" He asked me standing up to his feet.
At least for the first time he shifted his attention from Carol.
"Why are you interested in whatever I do and wherever I go?" I asked Ariel.
"I thought Mr Bill has asked us not to......."
"Jumai....!" I screamed on sighting Jumai walking into the church.
I jumped on Jumai and hugged her tightly.
"Please take me home, take us home, I and Ariel", I said still hugging Jumai.
"Are you done yet?" She asked me pulling me away slowly.
"No, he has asked us not to go home until we perfect the song", I said pointing at Mr Bill who has now finished talking on the phone and was walking back to the rehearsal ground.
"Hello", Mr Bill said smiling at Jumai.
"Hello, greetings to you sir", Jumai replied smiling back.
They both were smiling at each other and blushing so much, I could feel the connection.
I cleared my throat and they both turned towards me.
"Can we go home now?" I asked Jumai.
"Can I take them?" Jumai asked Mr Bill.
"Okay so I won't delay you, let's just pray and close for the day", Mr Bill said and gathered all of us together for prayers.
I knew he liked Jumai if not Mr Bill doesn't go back on his words, even when a pastor or my parents call to plead with him.
After the prayers, Mr Bill walked to Jumai and they started chatting in low tones.
Carol and Ariel were still flirting while her brother ran upstairs to rest, he also was annoyed the whole time.
I hissed annoyed at Carol and Ariel and walked up to Jumai and Mr Bill.
"Jumai let's go home", I said so I could separate Ariel and Jumai.
"Can I drop you off?" Mr Bill asked and I rolled my eyes.
"There's no need for that, I came with their driver", Jumai replied and I chuckled softly.
"What if I insist? Their driver can take them while I take you", Mr Bill insisted.
"I am only going to stress you and I don't want that, by the way, it's already late", Jumai said.
She stretched her hands towards me and I took them.
"Okay then, here is my card", he said stretching his hands towards Jumai, he had a card in his hand. Jumai took the card from him.
"Call me", he added.
"Okay then, I'd give you a call", she said.
"If you don't then I'd get your number in any way I can", he said and Jumai laughed slightly.
"Ariel! Let's leave", Jumai called and I smiled inwardly.
Ariel hugged Carol goodbye and walked to us, while she walked upstairs.
~
"So she is your secret girlfriend right?" Jumai teased Ariel as we drove home in the car.
"She's not my girlfriend", Ariel defended and I scoffed.
"I didn't see it that way though", Jumai replied mockingly.
She sat in between Ariel and me behind the bus as we drove home.
The bus was shared among the 3 of us, we also shared a driver until Jumai got her own car and driver.
CHRIS
Bringing peace between the warewolf and the human race had always been my number 1 priority I didn't care about anything else.
It's been bothering me how werewolves were unlawfully and brutally killed, They didn't want to stop. Avril's parents, my parents and the rest of the warewolf hunters.
I knew bringing peace between them wasn't going to be an easy task. I needed help, I needed to join forces with other warewolf and humans. I didn't even know where to start.
I lay on my bed rolling back and forth without any ideas coming into my head. Tyson was my only help but he didn't seem interested in whatever it was I wanted to do.
I need to think about others and probably someone to help talk to him.
'Avril! Ariel!' I thought and jumped up excitedly.
I quickly picked up my phone to call Avril... She was busy but promised to be with me shortly.
I didn't know how she was going to do it but she promised to convince Ariel to come with her.
~
"Thanks for coming", I said letting them into my room and closed the the afterwards.
"I wouldn't let you be alone with my sister in your room so I am not doing you any favours", he replied rudely.
I scoffed.
"Have a seat", I said and they both took their sit on a couch facing my bed while I sat on my bed.
"I hope you won't beat around the bush 'cause I have something important to do before I was called here", Ariel said folding his arms and crossing his legs.
"I do not have plans to beat around the bush either, look I have great plans for us", I paused for sometime to read the reactions on their faces.
"I need us to sketch a plan on how to bring peace between the warewolf and the human race", I said and stared at them to hear their reply.
Ariel and Avril were quiet for some time before Ariel finally cleared his throat and exhaled deeply.
"Hmmmmm! So you haven't gotten over this shit? You were actually serious about it?" Ariel asked.
"Did it seem like I was joking? Besides what's wrong with that plans anyways?" I asked getting annoyed at Ariel's remark.
"See Chris you have to throw away this plan because it is never going to work", Ariel said.
"I really thought you were intelligent Ariel but I was wrong, I didn't call you here to discourage me so if you don't have anything meaningful to say you can just leave", I fired at Ariel.
"I should leave? Fine Avril let's go!" He replied dragging Avril's hands.
"Stop it the both of you, you ain't kids yet you fight like one. What is wrong with the both of you? Why can't you embrace peace for once? We are in the middle of something that seems like an important decision and instead of thinking of something good you resolve in fighting. How then do we work together?" I asked angrily staring at them one after another.
"And you Chris how do you intend to bring peace between the warewolf and human race when you can't even be at peace with my brother? If the both of you will continue to act this way then I will be left with no option but to ditch you both", she added obviously angry.
"I am sorry Avril, but you saw the way he spoke first", I defended myself.
"I am also sorry, I was only stating facts", Ariel defended himself and I scoffed lightly.
"You both, please...! Learn to tolerate one another", Avril pleaded.
"I will try as long as your brother cooperates", I said and adjusted on my bed.
"Avril, what do you have to say about the plans?" I asked my attention keenly fixed on Avril.
"Chris I am not sure what to say right now because I... I don't know what to say...."
"What she has to say is that, she hasn't embraced the warewolf race yet. We are still seeking solutions to......."
"I asked Avril not you, and I will appreciate it if you let her answer it!" I barked at Ariel, he was really getting on my nerves.
"Chris! Ariel!" Avril called staring at both of us one after another with her wide-eyed.
"My sister hasn't embraced the warewolf race yet, I am sure I'd find a solution to take away the warewolf blood from her's" Ariel said and stared at me with scorn.. "so go ahead and smooth yourself with your plans of bringing peace to the warewolf and human race", he added in a mocking voice.
I couldn't help but burst out in a loud approach of laughter.
