The break up.

CHAPTER TWENTY
AVRIL
I exhaled deeply, it wasn't Chris and Sally, after all, it was just my mind playing tricks with me, but damn! They fucking looked alike.
I sat back and relaxed in my seat once again. Ariel and Jumai were staring at me as if they noticed that I was tensed.
I became bored and prayed silently for the graduation to come to an end. I was restless, so this was the long-anticipated graduation. I hissed.
Finally, the graduation came to an end and we all went home exhausted... Ariel and I were already late for the rehearsals.
Ariel finished dressing up and came to my room to wait for me. Ariel and I were too exhausted so we decided to have some rest before proceeding to the rehearsals.
We lay on my bed chatting in whispers so my mom and dad wouldn't notice we were still home.
We forgot totally about the rehearsals and slept off as a result of the exhaustion.
Ariel and I woke up on Sunday morning in a very weird sleeping position.
"We really slept this way?" Ariel asked and I chuckled.
"We are dead! We didn't even attend the rehearsals", Ariel said.
"Ooops!" I replied holding my mouth in my palm.
"Ariel isn't in his room... Mom? They probably didn't come home from the rehearsals last night", we heard Jumai's voice from downstairs.
Ariel and I laughed at it.
We could hear mom and dad questioning the domestic workers downstairs, Ariel and I were enjoying the moment.
"Let's go downstairs", I said dragging Ariel's hand.
"No! Wait, let's......"
"No what? Please let's go they all are worried", I insisted dragging Ariel towards the door.
"Okay fine", he said and followed me downstairs.
Mom and dad were angry at me and Ariel for playing with them but not for too long. We apologized and they forgave us.
We had breakfast and went to church afterwards...
The service was short and interesting Ariel and I apologized for not being able to attend the rehearsals.
Once again I had to endure seeing Ariel flirt with Carol, I wondered what he saw in her. She was mediocre in everything about her. She always flew herself all over Ariel and it annoyed me so much.

Finally, it was Monday and I'd get to see Avril...
During the break period, I rushed to Avril's class and dragged her to a quiet room. It was the room I and my friends had our secret discussions.
She followed me without any hesitation and without uttering a word.
We entered the room and I bolted the door.
"So you also are a warewolf?" I asked after letting go of her arm.
"I... I was going to tell you", she replied.
"Really?" I scoffed.
"You acted like a saint as I killed you when you didn't tell me either that you are the same monster you called me", I fired at her.
"We are not the same", she replied in a whisper.
I scoffed and hissed slightly.
"We are not the same? Why? Because I am a guy and you are a girl?" I asked.
"No, it's nothing close to that Chris", she replied.
"Then it's what? Avril what? Tell me how are we different?" I asked.
"I wasn't a warewolf for over thirteen years, besides I just got bitten and I was going to tell you", she replied.
I clapped my hands together.
"Where are you? Or you were just going to hide it from me just the same way I did?" I asked.
"I wasn't", she replied rolling her eyes.
"I also was going to tell you", I said.
"Chris you were a warewolf for a very long time and I was still getting over it, I going to tell you", she insisted.
"You kept on insisting that we aren't the same and you were going to tell me, but you know it within yourself that we both are guilty of the same crime", I said and she rolled her eyes.
"Admit it, Avril, admit it. We are guilty of the same crime", I said walking closer to her.
"We ain't", she replied in a whisper.
"You know what Avril? Whether or not you admit it we are both liars and monsters. You are a monster!" I yelled into Avril's face and she slapped me.
"I am not a liar! Yes, I didn't tell you the truth but I didn't lie to you either. I may have hidden the fact that I was a warewolf from you but I didn't lie to you", she said and exhaled deeply.
I scoffed lightly.
"See who is defending herself now", I said.
"I am not trying to defend anything here, yes I admit the fact that I am now a monster but I am going to do something about it, I am going to put an end to it all", she said and I chuckled.
"How are you going to do that?" I asked sarcastically.
"With the help of Ariel I'd put an end to the lives of all the werewolves on this planet", she said and exhaled.
She stared at me for some time looking straight into my eyes. I was completely clueless about what she was talking about.
"I will put an end to the existence of werewolves including you and me, I already have everything planned out we all are going to die!" She said.
Avril hated werewolves so much and I didn't miss the part during the dinner when she said she wanted to take after her parents.
"You are no different from those monsters, those werewolves who go around killing innocent humans, you see Avril I always thought you were a good girl filled with so much love for humans and animals I never knew you were this self-centred", I yelled into Avril's face.
"Self-centered? Do you call this self-centred? That I am going to do something to save the human race? That I am also going to end my own life with this decision I made? How is that being self-centred?" She asked me shaking her head.
I shook my head in disagreement.
"Self-centered because you do not care about the lives of the innocent werewolves you are going to end as well because you are doing this for your family and to feel like a hero", I said.
"You can choose to believe and say whatever you want Chris but I am not going to back off", she said.
Avril was a string-headed fellow, I just got to notice that part of her.
"I am sure your parents will be very happy to find out that the burden of going around to kill werewolves have been lifted off their shoulder", she said.
"What kind of brother will mix chemicals to kill his own sister? Anyways I am not surprised your parents also killed your aunt, your daddy's sister because she became a warewolf. How is that love?" I asked.
"Your family is no saint either, your mom also killed her cousin who got bitten by a warewolf", she replied and I scoffed.
"On the command of who? Avril? On the command of who?" I asked Avril who only rolled her eyes without giving a reply.
"You see? Now you're mute. Your dad was the same person who insisted he gets killed using your mom's aunt that was killed as a reference", I added.
"We are not here to talk about our families", she said.
"Coming from the same person who started it, you brought up the discussion about families right?" I asked her.
"Chris, why are you being a hard but to crack?" She asked.
"I'm the one who is being a hard nut to crack now? Avril, you didn't even say a word of apology when you were found guilty instead you were trying to cover up and bring up shit talks about killing the werewolves, like how the bell am I the one being a hard nut to crack?" I asked.
"You know what Avril let's call this a quit because I am already tired of you", I said and I saw a drop of tear escape Avril's left eye and she wiped it with the back of her palm.
