CHAPTER THIRTY
AVRIL
"What idea?" Chris asked adjusting himself on his seat.
"Just walk up to your parents and say to them yay! Let's stop the killing of werewolves and live in peace because there are good werewolves", he said jumping up and playing pretending to be us.
Our faces fell as we all were disappointed in Tyson's response.
"I really thought you were on our side now", Chris said sadly.
Tyson burst out in a loud approach of laughter.
"Wait! You really thought I had an idea? I still don't even understand what y'all want me to do, talk about having an idea of what we will do funny", he replied And sat back on his bed.
"Why are you being so difficult, Tyson?" I asked looking at him with a frown.
"I am not difficult, I'd only act on things that are important", Tyson replied.
"So bringing peace between the warewolf and human race isn't important?" Ariel asked.
"It depends", Tyson replied.
"On what?" I asked Tyson who was wearing an annoying grin.
"I am just not interested in this topic", Tyson replied.
"But why?" Ariel asked.
"Why else? Maybe he's okay living in fear, maybe he's okay hiding from the world, isolating from everyone like a leper", Chris said and I stroked him a warning glance.
I didn't want him to offend Tyson just yet, I had a feeling that he'd come around soon, all he needed was a little bit of convincing.
"Tyson this will work and we all wouldn't regret that we tried, it's better to try and fail than to fail to try", Ariel said and I nodded.
"Tyson please, together we can make this work", Ariel added.
"Tyson, why are you acting this way?" Chris asked.
"Why else? Your parents are the ones killing the werewolves not me, I wonder why you're talking to me rather than them, I wonder how this issue concerns me", Tyson said.
"It concerns us all, both humans and werewolves", I said.
"Because you're a warewolf now? Have you ever fought for the rights of the warewolf before now?" Tyson asked.
I bowed my head, I felt selfish, and I was sobbing but tried to control it.
"At least she's doing something about it now, trying to bring peace and save her race, where she belongs now. But you what did you ever do for your kind? Nothing!" Chris said.
"I'd rather do nothing than get killed because of some rubbish idea kids like you came up with", Tyson said.
"Those kids are not just kids but very brilliant and fearless ones", Chris said.
"Brilliant and fearless? Yet you can't approach your parents and ask them to stop the evil they do for a living, instead, you came here like cry babies asking me to stop it, how is that even possible?" Tyson asked.
"We didn't come here to ask you to stop it, but to ask for your help, to ask you to join us let's put head's together and put an end to all this rubbish", I said.
"Don't ask for my help, go to your parents!" Tyson said.
Chris chuckled and smirked, he moved uncomfortably on his seat my eyes were fixed on him the whole time, and I prayed silently that he doesn't do anything stupid.
Chris stood up lazily dragging his legs which by this time were already wobbling, not out of fear but out of anger.
"Let's go... Avril, Ariel", Chris said in an almost teary voice.
He was visibly angry and disappointed in Tyson.
"Yes, please leave before you drive me crazy with your crazy suggestion", Tyson replied.
"Avril let's go!" Chris said almost yelling.
"Chris calm down, you can't convince him by acting this way", I said trying to calm Chris down.
"Convince him? With the way, he is already sounding like a coward?" Chris asked annoying Tyson.
"You have no right to come to my house and insult me", Tyson said standing up and walking towards Chris.
"Enough! We'd just leave", I said.
I didn't want Tyson and Chris to start a fight, this was my idea after all.
"It was my idea that we come to talk to you, I am really sorry it's my fault that you both are about to fight, I really apologize I am sorry. Ariel let's leave", I said.
I was completely disappointed in Tyson, I didn't expect h to be such a coward, I really thought he was brave.
Ariel, Chris and I walked out of Tyson's room wearing a frown.
We walked through the bush parts, parked our bike a little bit far from Tyson's house and strolled there for security purposes.
"This is all your fault, you don't have to insult people all the time", Ariel said blaming Chris.
"Why? I should have clapped at his cowardice or given him a standing ovation?" Chris asked.
"You always think you're better than everyone else", Ariel said.
"I am sure Tyson would have agreed if we had pressed further but you ruined everything by acting like the perfect one. When will you stop claiming to be Mr perfect?" Ariel queried.
"When you all learn to stop being cheap cowards", Chris cursed and Ariel made to hit him.
"Stop it the both of you!" I yelled at them.
"I am sick of your continuous fighting and intolerance for each other, we have a pressing issue at hand and all you could think of is fighting?" I asked staring at both of them angrily.
"I am sorry it was Chris's fault", Ariel defended.
"No, you started it", Chris defended himself.
"Enough! Guys please, this isn't the reason we came here, how can we fight for peace when we don't even have peace within ourselves", I paused and turned to Chris we had stopped walking by this time.
"Chris, how will you fight for peace like this? You can't even maintain peace with those that are close to you, how do you intend to convince others to be at peace? I wonder how you came up with such a brilliant idea if you can't work towards it yourself, if we preach peace people would look up to us, they will want to see us acting on what we preach, you can't go around fighting like this", I added.
"I am sorry", Chris said to my surprise.
I really thought he would get mad at me for telling him the truth and walk away angrily.
"Chris we are going to think about more strategies to bring peace between the warewolf and the human race, I am sure we can convince Tyson," I said and Chris shook his head.
"Let's leave Tyson out of our plans, we can do this alone, let's put our heads together that's the first step we are going to take", Chris said.
"We can't do anything alone, we have to find a way to convince Tyson", Ariel said... I knew he only wanted to annoy Chris.
Chris smirked and ignored him completely.
"Chris", I called placing my hand on his shoulder.
"I know exactly how you feel right now, I understand what you're going through. I know exactly what it feels like when all your efforts are being frustrated when it seems as if everything you are working hard for is bring rubbed in the mud", I patted his back lightly.
"Chris, this will pass. We'd get through all of it together I promise you", I added and Chris smiled.
"With God and with hard work nothing is impossible", he replied and smiled.
"Are we going back to Tyson's? Or should we go home? Else you both want to stay here all day professing unending love to each other", Ariel said.
"We won't go back to Tyson for any reason", Chris said.
"Let's go home", I said trying to put an end to the argument that was about to start between the both of them.
"I thought Chris said everything is nothing is impossible with God and hard work? Let's put in hard work and also pray inviting God in our midst, then we'd talk to Tyson and see if everything is really possible", Ariel said and I punched him lightly staring at him with scorn.
"Ariel now, why not stop this already?" I asked.
"No let him, he doesn't want peace," Chris said.
He wiped the strip of sweat on his forehead.
"You better embrace peace now", Chris added.
"Enough of this talking let's go home", I said.
"Chris, Are you sure you don't want to go back to Tyson's?" Ariel asked sarcastically turning to Chris.
Chris was trying so hard to avoid having any issues with Tyson. He kept quiet and started walking ahead of us, I ran after him, catching up with him I squeezed my hands into his and started walking slowly together with him while Ariel walked slowly behind us.
"It's going to be fine", I said and Chris nodded.
"Chris!! Ariel! Avril!" We heard our names in a very loud tone and turned around surprised to see who it was.
