Chapter 20

Tyler's pov
"Why? And how soon will you be back?" Ally's drowsy expression softened my heart.
"Honey, I can't tell you for now. But please believe me, I'll be back as soon as I can."
I dropped a kiss on Ally's forehead, and Ally's eyelashes were fluttering regularly.
"Ally, you've worked too hard. You need to get more rest. Also, if Beta from Wind Pack comes after you, you can go to the Blackout Pack office in Wind Pack to hide for a while."
"Well, I'll do that." Ally muttered. I wasn't quite sure if Ally had heard what I said.
"All you have to say is that Ronald sent you. I've agreed with them in advance. You can look for a Beta named David," I instructed the sleeping Ally.
I still wasn't quite comfortable with Ally being alone at this particular time and facing these problems alone.
But I still convinced myself that Ally could handle the danger alone even before she met me. I needed to trust her ability.
A coughing sound came from Ally's mouth and I helped her cover up the blanket and gently walked out.
"I'm sure we'll see each other soon, dear Ally. god knows how much I'll miss you."
I stroked Ally's face as she moaned in comfort.
I restrained the physical urge in my body and had to leave Ally's side coldly and ruthlessly.
With the help of the people at the Wind Pack office, I had no trouble getting out of the Wind Pack.

  Ally's pov
I woke up to find I was the only one left in the room.
"It's so strange, I've never been sleepy. Why are you so sleepy last night and today."
My wolf, who was also sleepy, yawned , and then said to me, "Charoltte, to be honest, I think you're in a bit of a strange state."
"Yes, and my symptoms look like I've inhaled some kind of drug..."
This sudden thought startled me. Since I am a doctor by profession, I would be more sensitive to the use of drugs.
"I was too sleepy, plus I've been running around for the past few days. I thought it was because I was working so hard that my body was sleepy."
I thought slowly, carefully recalling what possible opportunities there were for me to be exposed to the medication.
My eyes fell on the marigold daisy in the vase on the table, which gave off a sweet fragrance.
I quickly walked over to it and sniffed carefully at the scent in the stamen.
I noticed that there was some pink pollen in the stamens that was different from that of the marguerite.
I scraped some of the pollen with a cotton swab and soaked this into my reaction solvent.
"If it's normal Maglie daisy pollen, my reaction solvent won't change color."
"If there is a problem, my reaction solvent will turn blue. That means the bunch of Margolite chrysanthemum was put with a drug that can make people unconscious."
After about another minute, the reaction solvent in my hand turned a fluorescent blue color.
I let out a cold laugh, "This florist really has a problem!" Without hesitation, I poured the reaction solvent into the drain.
"But, Charlotte, dear. I remember when no poison could do you any harm. Why are you feeling so sleepy today because of these Margaritas?"
"Maybe it's because last time, I used my ability to heal wounds with the help of plants in order to heal Tyler's injuries. My body received a tremendous amount of wear and tear."
"So what are you going to do now," my wolf asked me.
"I can't be sure of his ultimate goal yet, so I can't take the next concrete action."
"If only Tyler could be with you right now."
My wolf said a little depressed.
"I can get things done just as well without him , too!"
"I know, I'm sure you have it in you. But he can at least make you happy, can't he?"
  "Maybe." I shrugged, casually.
I thought I should go to the hospital today, maybe I'd find some clues.
On my way to the hospital, I'd pass Batty's flower store. At this time his store was filled with customers picking out flowers.
I stood in the doorway of the flower store and casually looked into the store.
"Beautiful lady! Good morning!" Batty said to me as he ran out with a water bottle.
He was always overly enthusiastic about me, which made me feel a little uncomfortable. I don't really like to have too much contact with strangers.
"Same as always, Mr. Betty." I nodded to Batty.
I noticed his eyes searching around me, "Beautiful lady, may I ask if the gentleman you came with yesterday is here today?"
I shook my head, "Not really." I said.
Hearing me out, Batty's face showed a happy look when a female customer in the store asked him the price of a bouquet of roses.
"There's a price tag on the bouquet! You should see it for yourself!" Batty yelled at her impatiently.
The female customer yelled at Batty and she visibly froze.
Batty turned around and showed me his signature smile. "Miss, do you still like the marigold daisies I gave you yesterday?"
Of course I didn't like it, the bouquet was very draining to my spirit.
But I couldn't be honest with Batty because it would interfere with my plans.
"Very well, I like it very much."
I desperately wanted to know what Betty was trying to do to me with this bouquet of marguerite daisies.
"Then I'll give you another bunch, this one is fresh today, I just picked it from the flower garden."
Batty held up a large bouquet of marguerites, and I took the flowers.
"Thank you, Mr. Batty." I pretended to be interested in the flowers in my hand.
Then, while Batty was busy, I took a deep sniff of the stamen of the bouquet of marguerites.
The pistil was still drugged with a drug that can make people unconscious.
My vigilance reminded me that I needed to go to a safe place.
"This bouquet of marguerites is so beautiful!" A lady passing by complimented.
"Thanks. It was given to me by Batty." I replied to her with a smile. "They smell great too, they have a sweet scent."
"Batty, please get me a bunch of margaritas exactly like this lady's."
The lady said in a loud voice to Batty.
Batty interrupted the lady and then said to her with a little anger: "Look at your face and the flabby muscles in your arms. This bouquet is only for young, attractive ladies."
The lady rolled her eyes and left with her bag in her arms, somewhat embarrassed.
I said to Batty, "Sir, I'm feeling a little sleepy. I think I should go home and rest."
Batty politely expressed his concern for me and said he would be willing to arrange for someone to take me home.
He held out his hand and called for a short man with red hair.
"No, thanks. I think I'll be fine on my own." I shook my head and walked toward home with my margaritas in my arms.
My wolf said to me, "Honey, there's something wrong with this bouquet."
"Of course I know that. And there are people following us now."
"Damn! What the hell is this strange Batty up to?"
  "Soon we'll find out."
I walked slowly and it didn't take long for me to reach home.
The man behind me was crouched in a corner not far from me, trying to shrink himself into a plain rock.
Unfortunately, I have hawk-like vision. I noticed that this man was the one Batty wanted him to take me home.
Because they both had the exact same red hair.
"Is he trying to break into our house?" My wolf said with some concern.
"Maybe so." I pulled out my dagger and held it across my chest in defense of any possible attack.
I hid my body in the dense bushes when the red-haired man wasn't looking.
I saw him look around anxiously for me after he noticed I had disappeared.
He spent about five minutes or so without finding any trace of me, and then walked away with a disappointed face.
After he left, I came out from behind a bush. Then walked quickly into my house.
"Do you think he'll know our exact address?" My wolf asked me.
"This may not be the first time he's followed me. And it certainly won't be the last." I thought.
A vague suspicion was forming in my mind.
To confirm my suspicion, I spent the next two days pretending to pass by Batty's florist, who enthusiastically presented me with a bouquet of marigolds each day.
Of course, each day the marguerites were put in a coma potion.
On the third night, I decided to do something to help these people achieve their goal.
I found a crucible and I was ready to make a potion that would restore me to my original form.
After a bit of work, the vanilla-smelling potion lay quietly in the crucible.
"It took me longer than usual to make the potion because I hadn't made a transformation potion for so long."
  I said to my wolf.
I drank the morphing potion and a tingling sensation filled my body. After a minute or so, the mirror had transformed me into the form of another person.
"Welcome back, Charlotte!" I used a comb to fix my hair, and they all turned back to a nice blonde color.
"What are you going to do?" My wolf asked me.
"Since he wants me to pass out, I'll simply do what they want. I'll pretend to be unconscious, and the next thing I know, I'll know what they're up to."
I lay down on the bed, then hid my dagger close to me. The clock struck twelve and I blew out the only candle in the room.
I squinted in the darkness and stared carefully at the only entrance to the room.
Maybe I could get through the day and catch the criminal who killed Amy and Lily's family!
A gust of wind blew by and a dark figure suddenly appeared in the window!
I held my breath to make it look as if I had passed out.
  Batty's POV
"Move fast!" I said to Black in a suppressed voice. This idiot could never follow a plan and move correctly.
Black whines to me, "Don't yell at me! Damn Batty!"
I punched Black hard in the head. "Shut up dumbass!"
Then I lowered my voice and said to Black: "If I hadn't already put enough potion in Margery Daisy, you would have woken her up according to your stupidity!"
"Even if we yelled in her ear, she wouldn't have woken up."
Black reassured me, but it didn't work at all.
He and I crept near our target, and there was a strange woman lying in the bed.
