Chapter 29
Charlotte's POV
"Hey, Tyler, stop!"
I pushed Tyler, who was pressed against me, away from me.
"What's wrong? That's what you wanted, isn't it?" Tyler grinned wickedly.
A ragged gasp escaped Tyler's nose, and his throat hissed incessantly.
Tyler's pupils began to dilate, his eyes widened as if they were about to tear apart, and Tyler's eyes were red and bloodshot with desire. And they kept getting redder and redder.
"Damn it, this is not normal!" I suddenly realized that this kind of sudden, strong symptoms of heat is not normal.
However, male creatures are naturally stronger than females, and even after exerting all my strength, I couldn't push Tyler even a little...
"Damn it!" Tyler was just dancing on my bottom line.
"Get off to the side!"
I drew my dagger and plunged it into his chest. But I had mastered the placement of the plunge so that Tyler wouldn't bleed to death.
A muffled grunt escaped Tyler's mouth, and his pupils narrowed in an instant.
I pulled the dagger out quickly, which caused Tyler to jerk in pain.
Perhaps it was the intense pain that made Tyler start to become conscious. Gradually, Tyler's emotions became stable.
"Tyler?" I slapped his cheek as hard as I could, which would make him become conscious.
No matter how much I patted Tyler, he looked like he was about to pass out.
"Tyler, don't fall asleep! Don't ever fall asleep!" I reminded Tyler loudly in his ear.
Tyler's eyes were open, but his pupils were dilating. This was a sign of imminent unconsciousness!
I quickly checked his wound. A wound of about an inch was bleeding out continuously. I tried to plug the wound with a tissue. But that didn't work.
"Shit! How did he lose so much blood?" I started to become panicked inside.
Then looked around. With a garden this big , there would always be some herbs that could be used to stop the bleeding.
My eyes locked on a white plant growing next to a rock.
"Found it!" I exclaimed.
This is a very precious herb that can help the wounded clot in a very short period of time.
Few people knew the use of this grass, no wonder no one came to pick it.
I rushed over and luckily there were enough herbs in the area.
I picked some and used my fingers to grind out the juice from their rhizomes. Then I drizzled the juice on top of Tyler's wound.
After a minute or so, Tyler's pupils gradually narrowed and his consciousness gradually became clear.
"Miss Charlotte..." He opened his mouth and barely let out a few simple syllables.
"Don't waste your energy talking yet!" I stopped him from speaking with a deep voice.
I watched the bleeding from the wound carefully, and luckily, Tyler's wound wasn't bleeding anymore.
"Tyler, congratulations on getting your life back." I breathed a good sigh of relief.
"Stay here and don't move, I'm going to call someone to come and get you to the doctor."
Just as I was putting the dagger away in my sleeve, a familiar voice came from behind the tree trunk.
Ronald, leading a horse, stood at the base of the tree and asked me suspiciously.
"Charlotte? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be helping out in the dining room?"
Before I was ready to answer him, his eyes fell on Tyler's body lying on the grass.
"Tyler! What's wrong with you?"
Ronald ran as fast as he could to Tyler's side and carefully examined the wound on Tyler's chest.
"What the hell did you do to Tyler?"
Ronald stared at me angrily.
"Tyler he first jumped on me like crazy, and I stabbed him in the chest with a dagger to protect myself."
I argued somewhat aggressively.
"Who are you to make me believe you Charlotte!" Ronald tried to continue accusing me, but Tyler reached out and tugged on his sleeve.
"Ronald, it's not Charlotte's fault..." Tyler spoke with a voice full of weakness.
"What are you talking about, Tyler?" asked Ronald urgently.
Ronald quickly called for the doctors. The doctors worked with Ronald and carefully lifted Tyler onto a stretcher.
I watched as the doctors flanked Tyler's back and disappeared into the garden exit, and I thought Ronald had left with Tyler.
I turned around and prepared to leave as well.
"Wait!" Ronald actually didn't go with Tyler, wasn't Ronald very concerned about Tyler's injuries.
"Now, I won't allow you to take a step out of my sight." Ronald grabbed my wrist firmly.
"You're hurting me! Damn it!"
I pulled my hand back from Ronald as hard as I could, and the guy was as strong as ever.
"Where did you get that dagger from?" Ronald's grip on my hand relaxed a little, but I didn't get free from Ronald.
Obviously, I couldn't tell Ronald the truth as it was, and if I revealed the secret that I knew martial arts, Ronald would definitely never let me near his father.
Maybe he would even throw me far away from him.
I shrugged and met Ronald's gaze and lied to him: "I stole the dagger from Thomas by hand.
You must know that slaves like us are always bullied by others, and if we are in danger, it is better to have a dagger than to have bare hands."
This reason obviously did not convince the suspicious Ronald, who looked at me in silence.
"It's true, Mr. Ronald." I stressed again.
"No matter what your reasoning is, I'm not going to let you off easy until Tyler wakes up. "
Ronald took me by the wrist and we went from the garden to the hospital.
Along the way, I received many glances from people gawking at me. I heard some servants talking about me.
"Look at her, she's so pretty."
"So what? I heard that this woman stabbed Mr. Tyler. Now Mr. Tyler is in the hospital receiving emergency care!"
"Oh my God!"
I heard their ridiculous chatter and I didn't hold back the anger inside me. I broke away from Ronald's hand and tried to go for a retort.
"Hey! What you guys are saying isn't even the truth!"
I said to them in a loud voice.
I don't think they expected me to refute them in such a loud voice, and they gave me a blank look.
But because Ronald was with me, they didn't dare to continue to treat me like that.
Vivian appeared in front of Ronald with a plate, and she loudly scolded the maids who were chatting.
"Do what you have to do!"
ViVian shooed the maids away and looked at Ronald with a smile, her pretty face showing a decent, charming smile.
It seems she likes Ronald a lot and likes to be in the limelight in front of him.
I guess Vivian was waiting for Ronald's compliment.
Ronald didn't pay any attention to Vivian who tried to impress him.
Vivian's face was covered with embarrassment, but she stood on the side of the road as she always did, bending over submissively. She made a way for Ronald.
"Let's go." Ronald pulled me away.
Ronald took my hand and walked ahead of me. I looked at his tall, athletic back and my heart was filled with a jumpy, relaxed emotion.
I would think back to the nights when I was Ally and Ronald and I would walk together.
He held my hand just like that, and then when I wasn't looking, he lowered his head and kissed me on the lips.
"Charlotte? Miss Charlotte!"
Ronald's hand waved in front of me.
"Huh? What's wrong?" I asked him, pulling back my thoughts.
Ronald's face was a helpless look. "Miss Charlotte, I've noticed that you get distracted sometimes. Besides, here we are."
Ronald pushes open the door and a familiar, sterile water smell pours over him.
Tyler was lying on a hospital bed, his upper body bare, his chest carefully bandaged.
"Is Mr. Tyler's wound any better?" I asked, pulling one of the nurses by the bedside.
"Mr. Tyler was lucky that his wound was stopped from bleeding in the first place. Otherwise he would have faced the risk of losing too much blood."
The nurse explained to me. But soon, someone called her away.
Because she needed to go take care of other patients.
"Who was the one who stopped Tyler's bleeding in the first place?" Ronald asked me suspiciously.
I looked away, avoiding his probing gaze.
"I don't know...maybe it was the doctor." I stammered in reply to Ronald.
An older man with graying hair approached with a stack of papers. "Ronald?" he asks.
Ronald nodded to the old man, who seemed to respect the old man.
"Mr. Baron, how are the specifics of Tyler's wounds, please?" Ronald asked.
"I found the juice of a special herb on top of Tyler's wound. Thanks to this herb, Tyler was able to stop the bleeding quickly."
Baron said approvingly. "The effects of this herb are rarely known. If he was not well-versed in medicine, he would not have known to use this herb for first aid."
Ronald asked Baron, "Wasn't it your doctor who stopped Tyler's bleeding?"
Baron shook his head, "Tyler's wounds had been well stopped before he came to me."
I could feel the burning gaze from Ronald as he took my arm and asked, "Who actually stopped Tyler's bleeding?"
