Chapter 51

Charlotte's POV
I was standing on top of the castle, and outside the gates stood a dense legion of werewolves. Chesley stood at the front of the legion. His face was expressionless and cold, as if only killing and death could excite him.
His eyes were dark red, as if blood was going to gush out in the next second.
K stood beside me, her body still as cold as stone. But I could already read the different emotions in her eyes.
"Lottie, the legions behind Chesley are all werewolves after his transformation. They're a hundred times more powerful than me, maybe even more."
K blinked, she had been able to guess my mind out of the box.
I knew K was saying this to me because she was worried about me. "Don't worry about me, K. I've told Ronald and Mr. Charlie all about this place. They will get here as soon as they can."
My father shifted into his wolf form, and he led the Shadow Pack's guard team to fight Chesley's army on the desert.
I watched as blood splattered from the bodies of my kin and my people, warm fresh blood spilling over the dry gravel as they stained a desert red.
I could no longer stand by and wielded my dagger, killing my way through the fierce werewolves.
My hair flew in disarray with the harsh blades, my eyes were a determined light, and my clothes were stained with the blood of my companions, and they were wet and clung to my body.
I didn't like the fishy feeling. But I had no choice.
I thrust my dagger into the heart of a guy who tried to slash my neck, and I turned around nimbly. Sharp eyes swept over the people who showed their timidity in front of my eyes.
The sun was already sinking in the west, the white moonlight shone on the land full of killing and death. The cold wind wrapped in the smell of blood and cold weapons rust blowing to the tip of my nose.
I gripped my dagger with a death grip, the sharp point of the dagger even still smoldering with heat.
All I could think of was a hoarse voice shouting, "Kill them all."
I shuddered, I couldn't believe I was actually killing like a demon right now. Besides, I couldn't even kill these strong enemies.
"Help me!" I heard a weak voice coming from the pile of corpses. I rushed over to check it out. It turned out to be a badly wounded Shadow Pack soldier.
I didn't think so much about it, I started to use my special healing ability to heal his wounds.
I started to heal so many of these wounded soldiers that I couldn't even stand up at the end.
My head felt dizzy and I collapsed helplessly to the ground.
Chesley suddenly appeared in front of me, and I looked at him wearily. I realized that he had been watching me from the shadows all along.
My healing powers were so depleted that I was now incapable of fending off Chesley's attacks.
Chesley raised his dagger high at me, and I closed my eyes, unwilling to face it again.
The expected pain did not come, I opened my eyes and it was K who was in front of me. Her back had been penetrated by Chesley's dagger. But there was no expression of pain on her face.
"No!"
I looked at her in despair, was this my destiny.
Chesley looked at me triumphantly, "Don't you want to go see your mother? See, there's your mother right in front of you! You can finally meet in hell, because I will kill you too."
I looked at K, who was dying in front of me, and I couldn't believe that she was the mother I had been trying to find.
By now, K's eyes had become completely different. I used the last bit of healing power I had left to repair K's wounds.
A familiar face appeared in front of me, and a hot tear fell from the corner of K's eye.
"Mom!"
I cried, and hugged her hard.
"Lottie! My poor child. I now remember exactly what happened to me!"
Kayla said to me.
"But this is obviously not the time to talk about it! Give me your pendant, child!"
Kayla said to me sharply.
Mother took the pendant and pulled out a red, tiny pill inside.
"Eat it now! It's the important thing to lift the taboo from you."
I took the pill and a wave of relief flowed through every part of my body.
I found that I was able to use my healing powers again.
By this time, Ronald arrived with Charlie and the army of the Black Night Pack. Ronald looked at me from afar, and it was as if there was no longer a barrier between us.
I was surprised to find that there was actually mate between Ronald and I. Between heaven and earth, all the noise was far away from me in an instant. The only sound in my consciousness was Ronald's heartbeat and my heartbeat.
Ronald's gaze was also following me, and I saw him swallowing hard, his sexy throat knot rolling up and down just like the memory of it.
Ronald crossed the sea of people to my side, and my eyes met his. The rising and falling of my heartbeat was so loud in my ears that he and I barely had to communicate verbally to know what was going on in each other's minds.
Ronald rushed to my side and my body was ready in advance to be held tightly by him.
I tilted my head, Ronald and I, and we were Kissing each other to our hearts' content at this point, in a desert of killing.
"Lottie, you're my mate," Ronald said to me, his gaze trembling and shimmering like the most distant aurora borealis.
Ronald embraced me, and his gaze met that of Chesley, who was badly wounded and lying on the ground. by now, Mr. Chesley was gasping hard like a dehydrated fish.
"Please. Don't kill me!"
Ronald looked at him with a cold expression, "You have done so many evil things, all because of your greedy, unrestrained desire. Chesley, you even killed a pregnant woman in pursuit of eternal life."
Chesley begged, his face covered with fear.
Ronald and I became mates, and both his and my powers no longer accepted limitations. Even more powerful than they were.
Ronald raised his hand and clenched his fist slowly into the air.
"You can't and kill me, or else..."
Chesley's throat made a dry coughing sound. Chesley's face slowly rose red, and finally broke off.
K was spitting blood at this point. I rushed to hold her up.
"Mother! What's wrong with you?" I asked worriedly.
A look of despair appeared on Kayla's face as she pulled out a smile.
"Silly child, I was created with Chesley, and when he dies, the power that keeps me alive will dissipate with him." Kayla reached out and caressed my cheek, and I could almost feel her power fading a little.
Desperate, I healed her, "Mother! Please don't leave me!"
I healed her hard, but like a drop of water into the ocean, it didn't work.
Desperate, I buried my head in my mother's arms, as I used to do when I was disappointed as a child.
Kayla stroked my hair, and a feeble smile spread across the corners of her mouth.
Gavin knelt by Kayla's side and we were reunited as a family in this way, at this time.
"Kayla, what the hell is going on here?" His sad and emotional expression made him look funny.
"Gavin, honey, we finally meet." Kayla slipped her hand into Gavin's hair, perhaps something they often did when they were together.
"We were both tricked by Chesley, who hid me and made me into a puppet to be manipulated by him. Because my blood has the power to heal, Chesley, who seeks immortality, kept me captive, and he used me as a kind of food."
Kayla coughed hard twice.
"I hate living like this, I'd rather experience pain like a normal person, I don't want to live senseless."
Gavin left a kiss on Kayla's lips. It was probably a goodbye.
Kayla looked at me, her gaze ever so calm and loving.
"Lottie, now that there are no more taboos in your body, Ronald is your destined mate."
I nodded hard, knowing that it was all coming to an end. They were as brilliant as fireworks across the sky but very short-lived.
Kayla had a flowing beauty in her eyes, and it took everything I had to find a way to keep that unique charm alive.
But I had it for a short time, only a year and a half in total.
Yes, I used my powers to keep Kayla alive for a short year and a half, but that was enough for me.
I had a big wedding with Ronald in that year and a half, and the Shadow Pack and the Black Night Pack united and merged to become the largest wolf pack in the North.
I also became the Luna of the largest wolf pack in the north.
A year later, I had my first child. She had the same lake blue eyes as me. I named her Kayla, a way for me to honor my mother's memory.
On a warm afternoon, with cookies in my hand and Ronald holding our baby, we went to Gavin and Kayla's room.
They embraced deeply, wordlessly, and I knew that this was the end that belonged to them.
And on this continent, the story that belongs to me was just beginning.
