It's You Alpha
CHAPTER 20: IT’S YOU ALPHA
~ Harpers POV~
“I see you met my mother,” he said. I opened my eyes to look at him again.
“I did, I could sit and talk with her all day.” I replied to him. My heart is still fluttering due to his proximity to me.
“Can we talk for a moment? I think there are some things that need to be said.” He asked me.
“Of course. I guess there are things that we need to discuss.”
He took my hand in his, causing what felt like electricity to shoot through my body. He led me to a round rod iron table that was black with only two chairs. One was positioned across from the other. It looked old but well kept. He pulled a chair out for me. Reluctantly releasing his hand, I sat down. He took the seat across from me. Little fairies had decided to join us. Flying around in all directions. Their colors were adding to the already beautiful setting of the garden. Illuminated blues, purples, pinks, yellows, and greens among other colors glittered all around us. I loved how the fairies were like little people with wings that glowed. They had huge personalities though they were tiny.
One fairy landed on Alpha Gabriel’s shoulder. She crossed her legs and propped her elbow on her knee, then rested her chin on her fist. Her little body glowed a beautiful blue that faded only a little as she settled in her spot. It looked as if she was here to watch a show. Gabriel and I both giggled at her. He leaned closer to me with his elbows propped on the table for stability.
“Harper, I need to talk to you about something. I know you don’t have your wolf yet so you may think I am being weird. Regardless, I need you to know what I am feeling. I just can’t ignore it any longer. Believe me I have tried.” He looked me straight in the eyes. I could tell he was confident but was afraid of my reaction to what he was about to say.
I nodded and leaned closer to him in a reassuring way. Although I was nervous and unsure of what he was about to tell me, I smiled at him encouraging him to continue.
“Yesterday morning before our meeting with my father I was caught off guard when an enticing fragrance that reminded me of freshly picked roses threw my wolf into a frenzy. It was unlike anything that I had ever experienced before. All my senses were captivated. When my father’s office door opened, the source of the fragrance was revealed to me. It was your scent, Harper. In that moment all that mattered to me was you. And right now, all that matters to me is you. I dedicated my life to my pack, and I stand by that whole heartedly. But it feels like nothing matters without you. I have fought these feelings since the meeting. I try to think rationally and be level headed, but I can’t when you are around.”
Alpha Gabriel rubbed his face with his hands still leaning in on the table.
“My attraction to you is irrefutable.” He looked into my eyes again. “I know you just got here but I don’t want to keep trying to hold all these feelings back. I am sorry if this is too much for you and I understand if you want to walk away.” At some point the shock of what he was telling me caused me to sit back into my chair. Realizing I need to say something, I decided I would tell him what I was feeling as well.
“Alpha Gabriel, walking away is the last thing that I would ever want to do.” I swallowed deep trying to compose myself. “Mine is cedar and pine…” he looked at me confused, drawing his eyebrows together. “A scent has also captivated me as well. It is cedar and pine...” I looked down. “Its source is you, Alpha.”
I squeezed my eyes shut, as my heart felt like it had stopped at that moment. I looked up only when I heard Alpha Gabriel’s chair scoot as he threw himself back placing both hands behind his head. The quick movement from him caused the little fairies to flutter all about. The little fairy that was on his shoulder looked agitated because she was forced from her spot.
A huge smile had spread across Alpha Gabriel’s lips. He quickly leaned in over the table getting close to me again, he took both my hands in his. The feeling of his hands touching mine stirred something inside me that I couldn’t explain. He captured his bottom lip between his teeth as we made eye contact.
“Harper, why didn’t you tell me?” I have been driving myself crazy. My wolf has been insane trying to get to you.
“I am not sure what this all means. I don’t have my wolf yet, is a mate bond even possible?” I said. His face softened; a look of uncertainty fell on his handsome features.
“I’m not sure though I would think it would be possible for someone to feel a slight connection to their mate before their wolf is born. Mates are given to each other by the Moon Goddess from the very beginning. Mates are created for each other. Souls are incomplete until being brought together with their soulmate.” We were unconsciously drawing nearer to each other like two magnets that needed to be connected.
~ Gabriel’s POV~
Harper’s voice was now a low whisper. Setting my body ablaze with want for her.
“How do we proceed with all of this?” she asked me. I am glad this table is small. I had to be closer to her. My body was burning for this girl. My eyes moved to her full lips. She licked them and it was almost my undoing. My voice had become low and sensual.
“Don’t fight it and let this connection between us lead the way.” I said to her, I hope she feels the same way I do.
At this point our noses were almost touching. I leaned in running my mouth along her jawline soft enough that the heat from my breath made her body shiver. I wanted to kiss her so bad. I could tell she wanted me to kiss her as well. Her heart rate gave her anticipation away. The scent of her arousal was stronger than ever. My body was aching to touch hers.
My eyes turned dark.
“We need her now!” Mika roared while clawing his way to the surface. His efforts are stronger than ever before. I was about to lose control. He was making me shift. I squeezed my eyes shut trying to lock him down.
“Mika No! we don’t want to ruin this. I don’t want to force her into anything. I want her to, but only on her terms. Not ours!”
“We must mate her and make her ours right now…” I pictured him in the form of a child crossing his arms and pouting with his bottom lip stuck out.
“Mika, if you don’t cease control, I will block you and not let you out to run for months!”
“Fine!” he yelled at me. “But when the time comes, and she agrees to be ours then I am in charge.” I rolled my eyes at him as he stomped away into the back of my mind. He tried to make his paws thud loudly with every step that he took away from me.
When I finally opened my eyes to look at Harper. Her mouth was curled up in a flirty but amused kind of way.
“Trouble with your wolf?” She asks. I let my forehead fall against hers. Even though we were still holding hands across the table, the more contact that we make the stronger the electric charge becomes between us.
The passion was building, my desire for her was a thirst that I needed to quench, but I have to wait. I pulled back looking into her emerald eyes. The little blue swirls were more noticeable now than they were before. A frown passed over her face.
“Harper, my impulse to kiss you and the way that I crave your touch is hard to deny. My body and my wolf are both pleading with me to have my way with you right now, but I won’t do that to you. I want to respect you and wait for your wolf. I don’t want you to have any regrets if we are not truly mates. It’s going to be torture, but your birthday is only a few days from now. We can use the time to get to know each other better.” Harper nodded at me. Her eyes took on a look that I wasn’t expecting. They screamed sexual desire and she bit her bottom lip keeping eye contact with me the whole time.
How in the hell am I supposed to control myself when she looks at me that way? And there she is biting that damned bottom lip again. My eyes darkened as I stared at her, the shaft in my pants began to harden. Unable to stop myself I leaned over the table getting closer to her once again. I know she could feel my hot breath on her lips because I watched as her body shivered in front of me. A seductive smile curled over my teeth and my voice came out low and raspy.
“I told you that if you didn’t stop biting that lip of yours, I was going to bite it for you. This is me keeping my word.”
