CHAPTER 73: THEY KNEW WE WERE COMING
~ Selene (The Moon Goddess) ~

“DON’T TELL ME THAT I CAN’T BE INVOLVED WHEN MY CHILDREN ARE GOING UP AGAINST HADES!” I yelled out. These deities think we should never get involved. Usually I feel the same way, but my children can’t fight Hades!
“It’s not a good idea Selene. We don’t want to disrupt the balance.” I screamed to the top of my lungs.
“AHHH… What balance? If Hades is released, and his purpose is to take over, then what balance will there be left?” I asked.
“Selene, you will not get involved! THAT IS FINAL!” I am thoroughly pissed right now.
“Sometimes, I feel like there’s no use in even being a deity if I can’t help my children when they need it most.” When it comes to our creations, we know the direction of their lives are supposed to go. When deities get involved, outcomes get shuffled, and destinies get changed. I hope Harper and Gabriel can handle things down there. Hmmm... If I can't be there in person, maybe a little help to develop their powers and provide some instincts on how to use them won't hurt the balance.

~ Tanner’s POV ~

I barged through the door knowing good and well what Harper and Gabe have been up to all day. Hell, I don’t blame them, I would still be in bed with Kelly if one of our sources hadn’t hit me with the information that I just received.
“Get the hell up!” I switched on the light and Gabe raised up from under the covers. I saw Harper's hands clawing into his back.
“What the fuck, Tanner!” Gabe growled out to me.
“Still making up for lost time I see. I am sorry to interrupt but we need to call an emergency meeting. Thane is on the move.” I said. Gabe shot up out of bed, buck ass naked. Harper moved to keep herself covered. “I’ll see you two in the meeting room.” I walked back out the door and closed it. I already know what Gabe is going to do so I go ahead and get the process started. I call all of our allies and prepare them for a virtual meeting. There is no way we have time to wait for everyone to travel here. Shit’s about to get real.

~ Harper’s POV ~

We were standing in the meeting room in front of the virtual screen. Tanner informed us of what our sources found. It looks like Thane is ready to raise Hades and he plans to attack us tomorrow! This can’t be good, we thought we had another week at least.
“Thane will not make it here to the Harmony Moon pack. We attack him first. I need everyone ready. I want as many warriors as possible. Kai, get in touch with the dragon king. Tell him it’s time. I want everyone to be prepared now! We will move out as soon as possible. We can’t wait for him to move first.” Gabriel was shouting out orders left and right. His father trained him well. Gabe is an admirable leader. I am so worried about the outcome of this whole thing. I begin to think of ways to keep everyone safe. If even one person dies, it will be because of me.
“No, Harper. You will not think of it that way. It is all Thane’s doing. These are your people, and they want to fight for you.” Mia reassures me.
“They are my people Mia, and I want to protect them!” I said back to her. The virtual meeting ends but Gabriel continues his direction. I also move to do my part as Luna of this pack
“The bunkers should be stocked, but I want them rechecked and stocked if not. Make sure there’s enough food and water for everyone in each bunker. I want my people comfortable, there should be plenty of blankets and pillows for everyone. We are going to begin to move pack members into the bunkers right away.”
“We are on it Luna, Harper.” Megan and Kelly both said to me in unison. Gabriel looked at me and grabbed me by the waist pulling me into him. He rested his forehead on mine.
“You will be staying here Harper. This is one time you need to listen to me. If you never listen to me again. Please, let it be just this one time.” I shook my head.
“No way, Gabriel! I am not staying, I am going! If I stay then you stay, because you are not going without me. In fact, I prefer that you stay, and I go without you, but I don’t see you agreeing to that.” I said. I walked past him making my way to my room to get my gear. I would be more ready for this if he would stay here. I can’t fight when I have to worry about him. Gabriel growled and followed me to my room. I stripped off my clothes and began to get dressed in my warrior gear.
“Harper, NO! You are staying here. I am not letting you put yourself in danger!” Gurr…
“DON’T TELL ME NO, GABRIEL! So, help me Goddess if you tell me no one more time, I will leave and face Thane alone. That’s what I want to do ANYWAY!” I stared him dead in the eyes. Daring him to speak to me like a child once more. To my surprise, he didn’t. He grabbed me by the neck and pulled me in for a passionate kiss. Then rested his forehead against mine.
It was almost time to leave, and I watched as Tanner and Kelly said their I love you’s and see ya later. I looked down where Gabe had the dagger strapped to his leg with a band that was made to stretch as he grew into his Lycan. That way it wouldn’t fall off when he shifted. I looked at him, and what I saw was determination and anger in his eyes.

~ Gabriel’s POV ~

Harper sat in my lap the entire time we were in the SUV on our way to the destination where we parked. There were so many of us, so it took a while for us to all gather. I pulled Harper into my side and looked over the large field of warriors. It’s a good thing we are in a secluded area in the mountains. I don’t even want to think about all the attention we would get in the city.
“Alright everyone, pay close attention to me. I want you all to know right now that we are walking into hell, literally. Thane draws his power not only from the stone, but also from Hades himself. Thane is unlike any creature that you have ever fought against. I would like for my warriors to focus on Thane’s army and not go after him directly. Not only is Thane too dangerous for any of you to take on, but he is MINE to kill. I want to take this time to thank everyone for joining us here tonight. It’s going to be a hell of a battle. When it is over, our families will be safer, and their futures will become much brighter.” The cheers of my people rang out into the night. “Be fierce, fight smart, protect yourselves and go home to your families in the morning. This battle is not over until Thane’s head is severed by my hand!” The cheers blasted louder. I am proud of my people; they are more than willing to fight by my side. We have a long way to run, so we move out. Harper is running by my side. The only fear that I have at this moment is for her safety. Goddess don’t let me lose her. If something happens to Harper, just let me die trying to save her.

It’s a good thing that wolf vision is so good in the dark. It is pitch black out right now. I mind link my warriors as we slowly surround Thanes packhouse.
“Everyone, stay silent. I want to move in first. I don’t want him to know that you are with me until you’re needed.” I received confirmation from group leaders in my head that my message was received. It’s hard to hide five thousand warriors. Harper agrees to sit with Tanner and wait to see what happens. It was a process even getting her to agree with that. I walk into the field in front of Thane’s packhouse. I am instantly struck with an eerie feeling. Something didn’t seem right. I hear a strange sound coming from my right and I look to see a man hanging from a tree. The rope that had him bound was rubbing against the tree limb as his body was swinging back and forth. That’s our source of information. Panic rose in my stomach. I tried to mind link everyone, but before I could, a massive explosion erupted. It shook the ground beneath my feet. I heard my warriors scream in pain. I saw some of them get blown to bits.
“THEY KNEW WE WERE COMING!” I shouted through the link, as I heard fighting break out all around me. Undenounced to me, they had us surrounded! blowing a hole in the property where the Foul moon packhouse once stood.
“TANNER!” I yelled out to him.
“SHE’S ALRIGHT, SHE’S WITH ME.” He instantly said back. I breathed out a sigh of relief until I felt his presence drawing nearer to me. Anger started boiling up within, as I thought about how this piece of shit killed my father, how he has torn families apart, and how he is trying to take my Harper from me. I turned to see the mother fucker stalking toward me. Mika came forward with a force that I have never felt before. Saliva was dripping from his fangs. We couldn’t wait to taste his blood after sinking our teeth deep into his neck. We have waited for this moment a long time. Thane released his beast and easily grew to the same size as me. He paused and let out a roar that vibrated in my chest. I didn’t flinch, I held my ground, then Mika and I let out a growl that was earth shattering. Warriors all around hit the ground as the authority in my tone was like a sonic boom that blasted over the entire area. His steps were unwavering as he proceeded to me. I shot forward, and we clashed.
