IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP

CHAPTER 48: IT’S TIME TO WAKE UP
~ Harper’s POV~

“Harper, wake up.” I heard a faint voice.
“It's time to wake up, Harper.” I slowly opened my eyes. I looked around a dark room. Where am I? I sat up and rubbed my eyes with my hands.
“Harper! You're awake! We were all so worried about you.” Kelly jumped on the bed and captured me in a big hug. I laughed at her. I notice now that I am in Gabriel’s bedroom. How did I get here?
“What’s going on Kelly? How did I get here?” Kelly looked at me and smiled warmly.
“Gabriel brought you home.”
“Oh, how did he manage to get us out of the cells?” Kelly drew her eyebrows together as if she didn’t know.
“I'm not sure. You will have to ask him.” I nodded my head at her. Everything was so much clearer to me. My vision focused on the dark room, it looked nearly daylight in here. I could smell Gabriel everywhere, and Kelly’s scent was stronger than I remember.
“Where is Gabriel?” Kelly smiled wide.
“He reluctantly left you to attend the eclipse celebration about 10 minutes ago.”
“We must hurry, we want to wow our mate.” I heard a strange voice.
“Kelly, did you hear that voice?” I asked her.
“Hear what voice? It's just us here. Everyone else is outside.” Hmm…
“My name is Mia, and I am your wolf, Harper.” Oh, Goddess! That is right.
“Kelly, it's my wolf! She is talking to me. Her name is Mia.” I smiled at Kelly excitedly. Kelly squealed and clapped her hands. “Mia, it is nice to finally meet you.” I said to her.
“The pleasure is all mine. We will have time later to get to know each other. We have a celebration to get to! Our mate is here!”
“Do I even have time to get to the celebration?” I looked at Kelly. “Kelly my wolf wants me to go to the celebration. Something about our... MATE!” Oh... oh... my goodness. My mate is here! What if it’s not Gabriel? I felt my heart tear a little at that thought.
“Well, let's get you ready then. You need a shower. Go wash up... we will have to be quick.” I threw the covers off me and ran to the bathroom. I was filthy from the cell floors. I quickly undressed and hopped into the shower. I tried to wash thoroughly. I could still feel Thane's hands all over me. I am really worried about pursuing my mate. If it’s not Gabriel, my heart can’t take it.
“Your heart can take it, and it will. We are strong and the mate bond is strong. Any feeling you have for another man will disappear once you meet our mate.” Oh, no…
“Mia, I am scared!” I said to her.
“I know you are, but there’s no need to be. This will become the best night of your life. Unless he rejects us, then just forget I said anything.” What! That definitely doesn't make me feel any better!

I quickly got out of the shower and dried my body, then moved to my hair. I twisted it up so it could dry somewhat. I wrapped another towel around my body and moved to the sink. I brushed my teeth and pulled out my makeup bag. I heard a soft knock on the bathroom door.
“Come on in.” I said to Kelly
“Do you need me to dry your hair while you do your makeup?” She asked me.
“Yes! If you could do that, it would make things go much faster.” Kelly smiled at me and grabbed the blow dryer. I didn’t want to go too heavy with my makeup. I focused on a pretty contoured foundation. I went for a soft smokey eye, not too dark. I applied eyeliner, then my fake lashes. I finished off my eyes with lots of mascara. I put some blush on my cheeks. The last thing is to do my lip makeup. I lined my lips with a raspberry shade liner. I applied one lip shade then another. The two combined in certain areas of my lips created a beautiful raspberry contoured lip. Kelly was done blow drying my hair.
“How do you want it styled?” Kelly asked.
“How about a quick updo? Something fancy looking?” Kelly smiled at me.
“I got you girl.” I giggled at her. By the time she was done. My hair was in a beautiful twisted updo, with some strands hanging down around my face. Wow, I believe this is the quickest I have ever gotten myself ready. Now to find a dress. I ran into the bedroom and flipped on the light. I pulled out one of Gabriel’s drawers. Yes! Thank you, goddess. Some of the lingerie was left here from when he bought all that stuff for me. Kelly turned around while I put on the lacey underwear.
“Kelly, I have to get to my room. All my clothes are there.” I looked at Kelly.
“What about that one?” She pointed to a stunning powder blue gown that was hanging from Gabriel’s wardrobe. It was a two piece with a small number of beautiful jewels sewn throughout. There were just enough to give the gown an elegant princess feel. The bottom piece was a light material that would flow with a light breeze. The top piece had off the shoulder sleeves. It was beautiful, but who’s was it?
“Kelly, who’s dress is this?” She looked at me.
“I thought you would know.” I shook my head at her. “Well... who else would it be? I didn't see Gabriel bringing a dress for another girl into this room while you were sleeping here. Especially leaving it hanging for anyone to see. I would venture to say this dress is meant for you.” Kelly gave me a huge smile. Ok, I don’t have time to think about it. I hoped the dress was meant for me. I quickly ran over to the wardrobe and carefully unhooked the bottom piece. I pulled it over my head and Kelly helped me button it up. Then we moved to the top piece. I removed my bra, because the top part supports like a bra. Once Kelly helped me button up the back of the top piece. I noticed a pair of heels that were hidden underneath the gown. They were silver and matched the dress perfectly. I have to admit, this dress fit like it was meant for me. I bit my lip and stepped back to look at myself in the mirror. Wow, I feel like a princess.
“Harper, you look beautiful.” Kelly said to me. “Your mate won’t know how to approach you. No man in that crowd will be good enough for you.” She said, smiling at me.
“No man but one.” I said. She gave me a knowing look.
“Now, let's go get your mate!” Or not I thought. My nerves were setting in. Get it together Harper. I told myself.
“You will be fine, Harper. You are ready for this.” Mia encouraged me. “I am ready for this. Do you know how long I have been sitting at Selene’s side waiting to meet my mate? I thought it would never happen. If he rejects us, we will kill him...plain and simple. No! better yet, we will bite off his man bits. That way he can’t mate with anyone else.” Mia said. I love her personality already. I giggled at her. Kelly and I locked Gabriel’s door behind us as we started down the hallway. Kelly led me down a hallway that I have never been down before. I still have a lot of exploring I need to do.

I stopped in the middle of the hallway as a man stepped in front of us. My heart rate sped up. He turned to look at me and his eyes grew wide. I heard him suck in a deep breath. I nervously shifted back and forth. I looked over to Kelly.
“Who is this man?” I whispered to her. She giggled.
“He is next in line to be the alpha of another pack. He is here visiting for the celebration.” Oh, ok. He walked up to me and smiled.
“Hi, you... you are beautiful. Can I get your name.?” He bent down and took my hand, bringing it up to kiss the back of it. Why was I reacting this way? I am just on edge because I am afraid of who my mate will be.
“My name is Harper. It is nice to meet you...” I said to him.
“Noah... My name is Noah. Next in line to be alpha of the silver moon pack. It is a pleasure to meet you, Harper.” He said, flashing me a charming smile. He was handsome, but he was not my mate. I smiled back at him.
“Thank you, Noah. I hate to rush off, but I really must go. I have something important to do.” He seemed disappointed. I am sure he isn’t used to females walking away from him.
“Sure, maybe I'll see you again before the night is over. It would be a shame if I left here without getting at least one dance with you.” I smiled and nodded to him. I proceeded down the hallway with Kelly. We came up to a set of double french style doors. They were huge, they were standing open so guests could come and go as they please. I took a deep breath and turned to Kelly.
“Kelly, you go ahead. I will be right behind you.” She gave me a questioning look, then turned and made her way down the big, elegant staircase. It was illuminated with soft lights. I heard the crowd outside. It sounded like everyone was having fun.
“We can do this, Harper. You have me now.” Mia said to me. I took another deep breath to steady myself. Ok, I can do this.
