CHAPTER 74: GABRIEL GET UP
~ Harper’s POV ~

I couldn’t get to Gabriel because I was helping all the warriors that were overtaken by Thane’s army. We were caught off guard. Somehow Thane caught our informant. I ran through flaming bodies trying to tackle and kill every enemy in my sight. I moved to rip the neck out of a wolf that had one of our warriors pinned down. I helped up my warrior and moved to the next. I kept glancing toward Gabriel. He was holding his own and giving Thane hell. I was caught off guard by an unshifted enemy warrior coming at me with a dagger. I was able to shift out of the way of his blade, but barely. I jumped back putting some distance between myself and the man with the dagger. I heard a loud growl, I blinked, and Thane landed in front of me grabbing the warrior up by the throat.
“WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT NOT HURTING HER! YOU INCOMPATENT AND WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT!” Thane’s movements were fast. He stood the warrior up and sliced his head off in one swift move. Before he could turn around to face me, Gabriel had grabbed me up and raced me toward the other side of the territory. I didn’t have time to contest as he left me sitting on a log. Tanner quickly made his way to my side. I was only able to watch as Gabriel and Thane clashed again in the middle of the field. Gabriel was bound and determined to keep him away from me. If he thinks I am going to just sit here and be a good little wolf, he is sorely mistaken. I ran to continue helping my wounded warriors, moving them to safety only to turn around and help others. No normal wolf stood a chance against Mia. Our white coat was splattered with blood. Gabe was still holding his own with Thane. I couldn’t wait to get to that fight.

Thane’s warriors were wearing thin. As soon as I got the chance, I would help Gabriel. I felt the ground began to rumble. Oh NO! Hundreds more of Thane’s warriors appeared and easily overtook our warriors. Mia and I moved quickly to help the warriors nearest to us. We are losing a lot of members now! NO, I didn’t want this! Just when I thought things were bad, I noticed that Gabe’s attention was focused on me, and Thane used that chance to plunge his hand deep into Gabe’s abdomen. Gabriel roared loudly and hit his knees.
“NO, GABRIEL! GET UP” I shouted. Tears stung my eyes. I can’t see him in pain. Gabriel rolled to move away from another attack from Thane. Gabriel mind linked me.
“I’m ok, baby. Pay attention to what you are doing.” He said to me.
“Gabriel, I love you. I’m coming to help.” I cried to him.
“NO! Harper, stay away from him.” He said back to me. I closed the mind link because He needs to focus on fighting Thane. I looked around me. Most of our warriors were dead, and I didn't see Tanner, or Kai. This situation is not looking good. I heard shouting coming from behind me.
“HELL YEAH! The reinforcements have arrived.” Tanner yelled through the Link. I looked back and saw hundreds upon hundreds of our ally warriors charging into the fight. Large shadows appeared from overhead. Loud roaring blasted as fire lit up the night sky. I turned my head to look up and saw something I had only heard of. Dragons, lots of them! The largest, a big black one, let out a surge of blue flames that easily took out fifty enemy warriors on the ground. Things are finally starting to look up for us. My mistake was losing focus. A cloth covered my mouth, and everything went dark.

~ Gabriel’s POV ~

“Tanner, where’s Harper!” I asked through our mind link.
“Uh… I don’t see her Gabe. I’ll try to find her.”
“AHHH!” Where is she? A sickening grin crossed Thane’s disgusting face.
“What is it, Gabriel? Can’t find my mate?” He asks with a menacing tone that pisses me off even more.
“WHERE IS SHE, YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT!” He began laughing. He raised his hand toward the sky and a blood red light shot from the ground, up.
“OPEN IT!” He yelled. A man appeared before me and with him a portal. He was a warlock and he had Harper! She was asleep on an altar and was no longer in her Lycan form, she was wearing a white dress.
“Fitting, isn’t it? For a mating ceremony. I am delighted to have all my honorable guests here to attend and witness me marking my chosen mate.”
“NO!” I launched forward but the warlock had placed a protective barrier around them. Thane had a wicked grin spread across his lips.
“Enjoy the show, Gabriel. I can’t wait for the moment I take her to my bed, or… maybe I will take her to yours. I know she will be a better fuck than Samantha. Oh, speaking of Samantha, have you seen her around lately?” My heart stopped. I can’t get to her. I let out another earth shattering growl.
“Fuck Samantha!” I growled out at him. He walked over to the altar and placed his hands on Harper’s chest and started tracing his fingers toward parts that only I have touched. “DON’T FUCKING TOUCH HER!” I slammed my fist on the barrier that was keeping me out. No matter how much it hurt or pushed me back I kept slamming into it. Harper’s eyes started to open but she was tied down. I bet those are wolfsbane ropes. She looked around confused at first, then her eyes fell on me. Then she looked up and saw Thane rubbing all over her. She moved to try to free herself from the ropes. Thane seemed to be getting enjoyment out of her fighting to get out of the restraints. He bent down, not caring to whisper.
“How about a little taste, Harper?” He let his fangs extend again and I watched as he slid them over the area that I had marked her. Harper squeezed her eyes shut and tried to pull as far away from him as she could. I continued to slam my fist against the barrier. I start to feel it give but not by much. That’s a good sign though, it means I am weakening it. Thane brought his mouth to Harpers and forced her to kiss him. Thane pulled back and paused like he was listening to something. His eyes grew angry.
“YOU’RE PREGNANT!” He yelled at Harper. Then I stopped, everything went silent around me. What?! She’s pregnant? I’m going to be a… dad? The world stopped turning at that moment. Then he smacked her face so hard her head shot to the side. She cried out in pain. HE HIT HER! Mika and I are shaking with anger.
“THANE!” I growled at him. “Come out of your protective barrier and face me like a real Alpha! You're nothing but a coward! You can hit my girl but you’re hiding from me!” Thane only ignored me.
“Now we have a problem, Harper.” Thane said to her, then he looked at me. “Do I kill it while still in the womb, or do I raise it as mine and make it a slave?” I saw red! My anger was at an all time high. I am going to rip his fucking head off!
“Get your lady Gabe. We got your back!” Tanner said through our link. I looked back to see him and Kai fighting off dozens of wolves that were trying to get to me. I watched as Thane nodded his head toward the warlock. Then a purple and red smoke started circling the table that Harper was placed on. The ground started to crack beneath my feet.
“HADES! IT'S TIME TO COME THROUGH ON OUR DEAL! GRANT ME THE POWER TO REMOVE THE MATING MARK, AND I WILL RELEASE YOU FROM YOUR PERSONAL HELL!” Thane growled out. I could tell he was drawing power directly from Harper. The purple and red smoke grew thicker and soon I could hardly see Harper.
“Harper, NO! You fucker! Energy surged through me. Dust beneath my feet started to swirl around my body. It was like I was operating off instinct as my body moved by itself. Soon I had light as bright as lightning swirling around me. I don’t know what this is, but it feels incredible!
