CHAPTER 75: LET THIS BE AN EXAMPLE
~Tanner’s POV~

Holy shit balls! Gabriel is glowing bright white! I looked over to Kai and he was just as shocked as I was.
I watched as a ball of lightning and wind moved around him rapidly. Even his eyes were bright white. He began to pound on the barrier again. I’m sure Thane is about to get his ass handed to him. I watched Gabe.
“I *POUND* SAID *POUND* DON’T *POUND* TOUCH HER! * BOOM! *” The barrier dissolved around Thane and his warlock.
“HELL, YEAH GABE!” Dragons roared overhead and allies all around us erupted in cheers. Thane’s eyes were that of shock, disbelief, and anger. He shifted back into his beast and met Gabe before he could make it to Harper.
“SET HADES FREE!” Thane shouted to his warlock.
“But sir. The mark?”
“DO IT NOW!” Thane growled out to the warlock. He took his attention off Harper and started moving his hands in ways that only magical beings do. This time it was black smoke that started rising up from cracks in the ground. Oh, Hell No! He is releasing Hades.
“Uh… Gabe, I know you aren’t going to like this but… I’m releasing the damn juggernaut!” I yelled out loud.
“NO! you get her away from here!” I know he is going to kill me for this, but we are about to see the fucking devil!
While Gabe was fighting Thane and the warlock was distracted, I saw my chance to get to Harper. I quickly ran over to her and untied her wrists. I had to move quickly because the wolfsbane bindings sizzled the skin on my hands and fingers.
“Tanner! Just untie my hands and move!” I did as she said and quickly moved aside. Harper moved like she had known how to use magic her whole life. She focused on the warlock and moved her hands around and stretched her arms up. The warlock raised into the air.
“AHHH! What are you doing?!” He shouted. Harper then brought the backs of her hands together and rapidly pulled them apart. The warlock's body exploded like he was torn apart from the inside out. What the hell just happened?!
“Uh… Yuck!” I couldn’t help myself. That shit’s nasty, but damn Harper. “When in the world did you learn how to do that? Just now?” I shouted to her.
“Yep! Thank the Moon Goddess!” she shouted back. As she moved to help Gabriel.

~ Harper’s POV ~

Gabriel and I were landing punch after punch to Thane. I could tell we were tiring him out. Thane was more focused on hurting Gabriel, and not me. I shoved my claws into his back and jerked them back tearing out fur, flesh, and muscles. He healed as quickly as I could wound him.
“GABRIEL! THE DAGGER!” I yelled through mind link.
“OH SHIT, I FORGOT!” Gabe grabbed the dagger from the harness on his leg. I distracted Thane long enough for Gabe to get a clear view of the stone lodged in Thane’s chest. Gabe launched himself through the air and plunged the dagger deep into Thane’s chest. Thane’s eyes went wide as Gabe didn’t relent.
“What is this?!” Thane screamed out in agony.
“This is me leveling the playing field between you and all your innocent victims.” Gabe pulled the blade back and forth to dislodge the stone.
“But… no…no such weapon exists!” Thane struggled to get the words out. Gabe held on tight as Thane moved and swung trying to get him off.
“Oh, it does. let’s just say that witch kept some very important information from you.” Gabriel continued. “You threatened my family, I promise you, I will be the last thing you see as I take off your fucking head!” Gabriel growled out in Thane’s face. I jumped and landed on Thane's back. I used my knees to brace myself. I grabbed him by the fur on his head and jerked it back to expose his throat. I extended my claws to their limit and sunk them deep into Thane’s neck, taking my sweet time to pull them across because I knew he would heal as soon as I pulled my claws out. He roared out in pain. That was exactly the distraction that Gabe needed to completely dislodge the stone.
“TANNER!” He yelled and tossed the stone to him. “Harper, get off his back!” Gabe said to me. I swiftly jumped down. Thane’s lava lines had disappeared, and he dissolved into that of a normal werewolf.

Gabe stalked toward him with a blood thirsty grin on his face.
“SHIFT!” he said to Thane. Being a regular wolf now, Thane had to listen to the Lycan king. Thane’s fur disappeared into his human skin. Standing before us was a man. Even after losing all his power, he still looked at Gabriel defiantly. Gabe let Mika recede back. The two men faced off. Gabe didn’t assert his dominance over Thane. He wanted him to fight. Thane moved to attack Gabe, but Gabe was too quick. He turned his back toward Thane and came up with his elbow and busted Thane right in the face. “You son of a bitch! Death is too good for you. I want to keep you. I want to pour hot silver down your neck every day until your insides are boiled. The only thing saving you from a lifetime of torcher is Harper. I don’t want her to know you're still living just for my pleasure.” Gabe brought the dagger up and plunged it through Thane’s neck. Thane spat blood and moved to run, but it was no use. He fell to the ground. Everyone in the crowd of warriors had now stopped fighting. Thane’s warriors were no longer under his command, they were under ours. Gabe looked around and growled out so every man, wolf, and dragon could hear. “LET THIS SERVE AS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT WILL COME TO THE NEXT MAN, WOMAN, OR CREATURE WHO THREATENS MY FAMILY.” Gabe pulled Thane up onto his knees. Thane coughed and spat blood as Gabe sawed into his neck with the blade. I wanted to turn away, but I made myself watch for the sake of having closure for my parent’s murders. Gabe continued his brutal assault until Thane’s head was completely severed. Thane’s headless body hit the ground at Gabriel’s feet.

Our allies, warriors, and friends celebrated. Their cheers echoed over the land as Gabriel held Thane’s head up into the air. He was covered in blood, but he had a look of satisfaction on his face. Gabe looked at Thane’s Beta and tossed Thane’s head letting it roll into the Beta’s feet.
“Take his Beta and Gamma to the cells” The crowd got louder as Gabriel then walked toward me. He caught me completely by surprise when he dropped to his knees and held his ear to my abdomen. I looked down at him and our eyes met. A huge smile spread across his face, and he jumped up and lifted me into the air. He twirled me around. When he stopped, he let me slide down his body so that my feet were on the ground. He grabbed my face with both hands “You’re making me a dad.” He whispered to me. I smiled with tears in my eyes. I was just as shocked as he was. He captured my mouth with his, and our people cheered even louder.


~ Gabriel’s POV ~
It felt so good to have Harper wrapped up in my arms with my people cheering around us. I heard the beating of large wings overhead and the black dragon of King Layden started to descend toward us. He landed and quickly shifted into his human form. He was followed by two of his warriors. I remember one of them being the warrior who gave Kai and I a ride back to the witch’s swamp. I walked forward and extended my hand to shake his.
“King Layden, it has been an honor to fight by your side.” I said.
“Ah, it was nothing Gabriel. You and your lovely mate did all the hard work.” He looked over at Harper.
“Harper I would like for you to meet the Dragon King Layden of the Mythical Lands.” Harper smiled and extended her hand to shake his. He gently took her hand and kissed the back of it.
“King Layden, it is an honor to meet you. Thank you for your help today. We couldn’t have made it without you and your warriors.” He smiled at her and then looked back at me.
“Queen Harper, the honor is all mine. Gabriel, I would like to take the stone, so my elders can begin the process of extracting my son as soon as possible.” Said Layden.
“Of course. Tanner, The stone please.” I reached my hand out for the stone and Tanner placed a glowing red stone in my hand. Looking into it, I could see a light that looked to be swimming around on the inside of the stone. Wow.
“Thank you both, you have given my son back to me. We have been separated far too long. His mother was lost to us after his abduction. She was severely wounded when the witch first betrayed us and took our son. She died shortly after.” He held his head down. Wow, I had no idea. I couldn’t imagine losing Harper. I watched as Harper walked toward King Layden. She took his hands in hers.
“King Layden, I am so sorry for your loss. We would love it if you could visit our pack often and continue our relationship into the future as allies and friends. If you ever need us, we are here to stand with you and your people.” She is the perfect mate for me. King Layden’s eyes softened.
“You are a jewel Harper of the Harmony Moon pack. I look forward to visiting your pack and I invite you to the mythical lands as well. It is also your home if you wish.” Harper surprised him when she grabbed him up in a big hug. “Congratulations on starting your family, King and Queen Lycan.” I nodded my head at him, and Harper released him from her hug.
“Thank you, Ki…” He stopped her.
“Only Layden to you two. You’re both welcome, friends.” Harper and I both smiled at him as he turned, shifted, and flew away. I heard Harper to my right whisper ‘WOW’ admiring his beast’s size and beauty. I pulled Harper into my side and kissed her forehead.
“Let’s go home.” Harper looked up at me and smiled.
“Let’s go home.”
