DON'T KILL HIM

CHAPTER 38: DON’T KILL HIM
~ Gabriel’s POV ~

I stood and adjusted my cock in my shorts. Harper was still laying in the sand propped up on her elbows. Her eyes landed on my bulge and grew bigger as she took in the outline of my dick. I smirked at her. “You're not afraid of it are you?” I said, capturing my bottom lip between my teeth. Her face turned to nervous shock, when she noticed I caught her looking at my bulging member. She has felt it through my pants before, but this is the closest she has come to a visual. She replied to my question with a breathy tone.
“I...I...um.” I reached down and pulled her up to me. I took her hand and pressed it to the outside of my shorts, letting her feel what I wanted to put in her. She once again took in a sharp breath, surprised by my actions. My chest rumbled with pleasure from the feel of her hands on my cock. I lowered my head to her marking spot as I spoke.
“If you and I are truly fated mates, I will waste no time marking you and making all of you mine.” Harper shivered at my words.

I leaned down and kissed her once more.
“The sun is setting; we should return back to the packhouse.”
“Wait...Gabriel.” I turned to look at her. “Thank you for bringing me here. And for.... everything else.” Harper said to me with a shy smile. I grabbed her up in a tight hug.
“You're welcome, Harper. I wouldn't bring anyone else here.” I took her hand and we walked back out the way we came. The forest looked different from the way it did when we came in. Being a wolf, I had no issue with direction. I easily navigated us through the forest and back to the border wall. Harper climbed onto my back, and I scaled back over the border wall and effortlessly leapt down. I helped Harper secure her helmet before putting mine on, then I climbed on my bike and quickly helped Harper up behind me. The sun has completely set now. All the light we had was the moon and the headlights from my bike. Good thing I have wolf sight. I would feel blind right now. Before I could start my bike, I heard something. The hair on the back of my neck stood on end. Mika growled in my head. Wolves! I heard another howl. It’s not my pack!
“Fuck!” I seethed. “Hang on Harper, we have to go, now!”
“What was that?” Harper asked me, sounding concerned. I didn’t answer her question. I started my bike and quickly spun us around. I didn’t take my time making it back to the main road. Looking left I saw bright lights coming our way. I tore out onto the main road. My bike was screaming, taking breaks only when I shifted gears. Until I hit my final gear.

~ Harper’s POV~
We had to be traveling at speeds between 160 – 190mph. I had my fingers interlaced together around Gabriel’s stomach. The force from the speed we were traveling was causing me to lose my grip, and I was slowly peeling back. If he doesn’t slow down now, I am going to fall off!
“Gabriel!” I screamed. He quickly looked back at me, but when he turned around, he slammed on his breaks causing the bike to tilt forward on the front wheel. Gabriel quickly leaned his body backwards and sat the bike back on the ground. I didn’t mean for him to stop that suddenly. I just wanted him to slow down so that I could reposition myself. I quickly learned that he didn’t stop because of me.

I felt a rumble from his chest as he stared at what was in front of us. I leaned to the side and my heart immediately stopped beating in my chest. I felt all the blood drain from my face. I will gladly take on this monster alone, but not with Gabriel here. I was scared of what could happen to him. I tried to mind link anyone in our pack, with no success. Wolves circled us, and Gabriel stepped off his bike and removed his helmet. I quickly threw off my helmet and moved to his side, but he shifted me behind him.
“Gabriel no, you shouldn’t be here.” I cried to him. “I didn’t want this to happen. Let me go with them! You go back to the pack, please!” I begged him. I knew it was no use. He wouldn’t leave me.
“Harper, if you think I’ll willingly let this son of a bitch take you, then you don’t know me well enough yet.”
“Gabriel, there’s too many! Even as an alpha you can’t take on all these wolves alone!” Gabriel’s angry eyes set on a dark figure casually walking toward us. I didn’t need to see him to know who it was. I could tell by his aura and the weight of his footsteps on the ground. NO, NO, NO this can’t be happening again. He has already taken my parents, he will surely slaughter Gabriel! When the devil came into view, I noticed a red stone glowing around his neck. What is that? Then he spoke... His voice was menacing and poisonous as I remember. Gabriel let out a low and frightening growl, warning Thane not to come any closer. It would have quickly subdued a normal wolf, but not Thane. He was also an alpha, but was that all? His aura seems to have changed. He is emitting a stronger, more powerful aura that gives off a malevolent feeling.
“Gabriel, son of Titus and Mae. Alpha and Luna of the Harmony Moon pack.” Thane spoke with a calm yet taunting tone in his voice. Gabriel held me tightly between him and his bike.
“I know what you are here for Thane, and I will never let that happen!” Gabriel growled at him. His body was shaking with anger. His wolf was on standby waiting to emerge. Thane stepped even closer to us, but Gabriel didn’t cower to him.
“Are you referring to my chosen mate that you have kept away from me.” Thane looked at me, letting his eyes roam the length of my body. Gabriel stepped between me and Thane, shielding me from his view.
“You may have chosen her, but she didn’t choose you, Thane. I won’t let you touch her.” Thane let out an evil laugh.
“Oh, I’m going to do more than touch her.” Gabriel shifted so fast I didn’t even see him do it. He launched himself at Thane, clashing his claws to the side of his face before being tackled from the side by another wolf. That must be Thane's beta. They circled each other growling and snarling at each other. Another wolf snuck up on Gabriel from behind snapping his back leg before Gabriel turned and attacked the wolf who had just bit him. They rolled on the ground fighting, snapping, and growling. They finally broke apart and the wolf came at Gabe again. He sides stepped avoiding the attack and latched ahold of the wolf’s neck as he passed by. Having no mercy, he bit down. I heard a sickening snap and the wolf's body went limp. Gabriel tossed its body at Thane, and it landed at his feet. Gabriel was so much larger than any of the wolves here. His wolf was pitch black with glowing amber eyes. He looked so intimidating as the fur on his back was standing straight up. Gabe could take on dozens of these wolves by himself, but not this many.

More wolves surrounded Gabriel. They all attacked him at once; there were at least seven that he was fighting at once. More wolves stood around watching in amusement as all of this happened. Gabriel quickly killed one, then another, and another. But every time he would kill one another was joined in the fight. They are going to kill him! I couldn’t let this happen.
“Alpha, Thane, please end this! I will go back with you. Please, just let Gabriel go. His pack needs him.” Thane looked at me laughing. He was enjoying this. “Please!” I yelled at him. I couldn’t hold back the tears as Gabriel’s movements were slowing. I was desperate. I ran and fell at his feet. “Thane, please I’ll give you what you want just don’t kill him.” All of a sudden, all the wolves dispersed from around Gabriel, he was hurt but still standing tall. Thane grabbed my elbow and jerked me to him. Gabriel shot forward, but he was too hurt and tired. Thane backhanded Gabriel from midair and he crashed to the ground. He still tried to get up but some of Thane's warriors grabbed him and held him in place. His knees were on the ground. Gabriel shifted back to his human form. He looked so bad. Tears fell from my face, and I cried loudly.
“Get your hands off her, you piece of shit!” Gabriel growled at Thane. He was thrashing against the warriors who held onto him. They were struggling to hold on to him, even though he was hurt so badly. I didn’t fight Thane. I was too afraid of what he would do to Gabriel. Thane snaked his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him and leaned down to me, forcing a kiss. To piss Gabriel off even more. Bile rose up in my throat as I choked it back down. I looked at Gabe.
“Harper, listen to me! I am so sorry; I shouldn’t have brought you out here. I’ll get you out of this.” Thane laughed.
“You're not in a position to be making promises now are you, Gabriel?” Thane asked Gabriel.
“Shut the fuck up! If you hurt her in any way, I swear...” Gabriel was still straining trying to get away. He screamed out in anger.
“Bring him, we may need him for leverage just in case my little Luna here tries to run away again or thinks she is going to refuse me. Let’s go Harper, you will be sharing my bed tonight.” Thane said loud enough for Gabriel to hear. Gabriel re-shifted and let out a howl that shook the ground and trees around us. It was unlike any howl that I have ever heard. The sound of Wings flapping was above us as dozens of birds flew out of the trees. Once the birds were gone, before anyone could speak, I heard the faint howl of a wolf. I immediately recognized it as being Tanner....
