HE WOULDN'T DO THAT

CHAPTER 64: HE WOULDN’T DO THAT
~Tanner’s POV~

I left Harper sleeping in her bed. I am so angry right now. I have never hit Gabriel in my life. He is my best friend and Alpha. Right now, if he was in front of me, I would knock him the fuck out for hurting Harper. She didn’t deserve this. She is sweet, kind, responsible, and beautiful. Not only that but she has been through HELL with that piece of shit Thane. I tried to call Gabriel to get an explanation for what Harper was telling me. I am praying to the Goddess that it’s all just a misunderstanding. It went straight to voicemail. I haven’t spoken to Gabe or Kai for days now. I don’t even know where they are. I couldn’t tell Harper, but I really don’t have a good feeling about any of this. I have to stay strong for Her though, I have to have faith in Gabe.
“Gabe wouldn’t do that would he?” Kelly asked me. I shook my head.
“Not the Gabriel that I know. And he is crazy about Harper. None of this makes any sense.” Gabriel’s office phone rang. I quickly picked it up.
“Hello?” I said into the receiver. I hope this is Gabe.
“Gabriel?” A male voice asked.
“No, uh… This is Tanner. Alpha… King Gabriel is out right now. How can I help you?” I said.
“Oh… Hey Tanner. This is Chad. Gabriel told me to contact him when I could meet and give a location. Look I am available tonight if he is. It’s about the only chance I am going to get to work out an alliance. Do you think he can work with me here?” He said.
“He is out right now Chad. He is not in town. I don’t see him making it back any time soon.” Tanner sighed.
“Man, I don’t know what to do then. I have been in a shit show here. That mother fucker Thane is causing all kinds of problems with my pack and all my surrounding allies. Where is Harper? Did she go with him?” He asked.
“Uh… No but she’s not leaving the packhouse right now Chad. That’s Gabe’s orders.” I said to him.
“Well, how about I come there then? Depending on the alliance paperwork, if everything looks good to me, I’ll go ahead and sign, Harper can as well. Gabe can sign once he returns home.” Gabe doesn’t want Chad inside our border. We do need his alliance.
“I’ll talk to Harper about this, and I’ll let you know. Where did you have planned to meet?” I asked him.
“You would be meeting me in the middle of both our territories. It’s not far from club howl. There is a mountain that overlooks that city. It’s like a place where kids used to go to get privacy if you know what I mean. It’s not really used anymore though. I think it would be a good spot. Just ask Harper. If she isn’t comfortable with it, I completely understand. I just don’t know when I’ll get another chance to meet.” I looked toward Kelly.
“I’ll let you know Chad.” I said to him.
“Take down my cell number, call me when you find something out. I can’t afford to miss your call.”

I took down his number and hung up. I don’t want to bother Harper with this right now, but it is kind of important. I quietly opened Harper’s door and walked in. I didn’t see her still in her bed, but I heard her shower running. I sat down at her desk and waited for her to be done. When I heard the bathroom door open, I quickly turned my head unsure if she was dressed or not.
“Uh… Harper If you’re not dressed, I am in here. I thought you should know.” I had my eyes shut.
“It’s okay Tanner, I have my robe on.” I opened my eyes and looked at her. Her eyes were puffy from all the crying. I felt angry at Gabriel again. He has a lot of explaining to do.
“Hey, have a seat, I have something to discuss with you.” I said.

~Harper’s POV~

“I think we should meet him, Tanner. He is just wanting to form an alliance, and it is really needed right now. If we travel there and back quickly, I think it will be fine.” I said to Tanner.
“Gabriel would kill me if he knew I was considering letting you out right now.” He said to me, I gave a low growl. Not at Tanner, just at the mention of Gabriel’s name.
“Frankly, I don’t care how mad Gabriel gets. Once he returns, I am not even sure I am staying here. I love this pack, but I can’t stand him right now.” He looked at me with wide eyes.
“If you leave, I leave Luna.” He said, smiling at me.
“This is your pack, Tanner; you are not leaving.” I love Tanner to death. He is like a big brother to me. “I am going to form an alliance with Chad. I need the distraction. Get everything ready. I am going to speak with Luna Mae to make sure she can handle things while we are gone.” I said to him. He nodded his head at me. I push the thought of Gabriel to the back of my mind. Mia has disappeared, probably sobbing like me somewhere in the back of my mind.
I visited Luna Mae and she was more than happy to handle things while I am away. I gather my bag and get dressed in some shorts and a tight-fitting tee shirt. I put on my running shoes and head out the door. Tanner is waiting for me at the packhouse entrance. We are taking two warriors with us. I don’t feel like we will need them though. It wasn’t long before we were on our way into the city.

~Gabriel’s POV~

The witch walked up to me and snapped her fingers. Yellow smoke appeared, and I instantly knew how to find the dragons. I wasn’t thinking about that though, as my attention was focused on her. She slid her hands under my shirt and over my abbs. I didn’t stop her. Her touch was electric, sending waves of arousal straight to my dick. My mind was foggy, and all I wanted was this woman. She smiled at me as I grabbed her waist and pulled her closer, so our bodies were pressed together. She brought her arms up and slid them around my neck.
“Gabriel, No!” Mika raised his voice in my head. I didn’t listen. She stood on her tiptoes and brought her mouth closer to mine.
“I knew you wouldn’t be able to resist me for long,” She said. I slammed my lips to hers. My hands grabbed her head passively forcing her mouth into mine. Our tongues danced around each other’s, and I could tell that she was experienced and knew how to please a man. My hands eagerly roamed her body as she pulled my shirt over my head. Images of Harper flashed through my mind bringing me back to my senses.
“Fuck!” I growled out and threw myself back against the wall. “You fucking witch!” I jerked her door open letting it slam into the wall. Then I stomped through her living area and out of her little shack. Her laughter echoed behind me as I walked away from her. I heard her speak once more before I passed back through the invisible barrier.
“Bring the dagger back to me Gabriel. Then we can finish what we started.”

I quickly passed through the invisible barrier and pulled my shirt back over my shoulders.
“What the hell Gabriel?! Did you and her just…?” I let out an earth shattering growl that caused Kai to bow down.
“NO! We didn't.” I said guiltily looking down. “I don’t know what was happening to me. One minute I was focused on getting directions, the next I was kissing her. That fucking witch! If Mika hadn’t flashed images of Harper through my head, I might have…” I paused. “I might have slept with her.”
“Yeah, but you didn’t. Harper is your mate. I know that you weren’t yourself back there.” Kai said, trying to make me feel better.
“I kissed her Kai! I pulled her into me!” I kept walking. “I am disgusted with myself. I don’t deserve Harper!”
