Chapter 28 Caught you
The ropes around her wrists seemed to get more tighter, the harder she struggled. The light of hope was slowly fading with his nearing steps. The wicked smirk on his perfectly shaped lips made her wonder his sanity. She could feel the fear crawling through her veins like blood. The shaking of her legs and hands confirmed it.
It took her a minute to recognise the smll machine like thing in his hands. Panic gripped her senses, replacing her fear with horror.
"No! Y-you can't do that!" Screams of her anxiety echoed.
Silvio didn't seemed to pay any attention. The crazed look of madness in his perfectly grey orbs scared her more, she knew she had messed up but she didn't had any idea how much she had messed up.
"Why not? You're my woman, sí?" Silvio raised his brow, the side twitch of his lips indicated his amusement.
Sadie flinched when he slowly raised his hand before caressing the side of her neck. She couldn't understand his actions, let alone him. The room became more claustrophobic for her, her breaths came out as pants, the trembling of her hands didn't seemed to halter.
"It'll be quick." That's all she heard when he pulled out a silk like fabric from his left pocket. Sadie looked in both confusion and agitation, as Silvio wrapped the fabric over her eyes. The light suddenly turned into darkness.
"What're-" she panicked as Silvio pressed his fingers against her lips.
"Shh..." He hushed before taking few steps back from her. His eyes looked over her body, taking her every detail, the curves of her breasts, the tremble of her body, the confusion on her lips, the fear in her covered eyes. He seemed to enjoy.
Sadie flinched when she felt his fingers brushing over the fabric over her shoulders, for a instance she felt clueless of what he was doing but soon a precise tear sound of fabric heard followed by her scream.
"What did I said about opening your mouth, huh?" His chilled voice pierced her ears as she breathe heavily, not knowing his intentions.
But she could feel the cold air against her upper part of the body, especially her left shoulder blade. She somehow knew the fabric was gone from there.
Silvio tilted his head as he analysed her naked torso, he had intentionally tore the fabric off. A smirk plastered over his lips.
Sadie couldn't see him, she could barely made out his position but she knew he was near. The soft touches against her skin were becoming frequent. Suddenly a scream left her mouth when she felt a needle pressed against her left shoulder blade, few inches towards her left breast.
"This pact of ownership will melt your doubts," she heard him chuckle as he continued. "Every fucking inch of your flesh is mine and mine alone."
When the needle touched her skin again, her heart stopped. Her body submitted fully, her mind garnished with thoughts of defying him, but nothing would work, she knew. He would caught her, and she wondered if her next punishment would be more than ownership.
She closed her eyes as tears escaped them, soaked by silk cloth around her eyes. The pain resonated through her body but her mind was too froze to register.
The life she previously had flashed through her eyes like a movie, the laughs she had with Olivia, the time she spend with her friends, the imperfectly perfect life she had. It was gone, all gone. She had lost her identity, her vision of life, and above all, she had lost herself.
The buzzing of machine stopped as she opened her eyes. She couldn't see a thing bit she could feel Silvio cold finger caressing over her skin.
Silvio placed the machine on the table and looked at her chest with a smirk over his lips.
"Beautiful..." She heard him muttering as he wrapped bandages over her tattoed chest.
Sadie emotionlessly scoffed as Silvio removed the fabric from her eyes.
"You can own my body, but not my heart." She muttered with no emotion. Silvio smirked.
His fingers wrapped few stray tendrils of her hair around them as he looked into her eyes.
"Get ready to lose,"
Two days and several painful memories haunted her dreams. The pain in her chest had sufficed a little but her heart was constricting with each breath. The reality bite her back, she knew yet she tried to ignore. She knew what it meant to be an italian mafia's woman, but she wasn't ready. Silvio had successfully stripped her off of her dignity, her identity.
"Get ready to lose,"
His words rang distinctively in her ears.
She was already lost, was just pretending to be strong.
Her tattoed chest was still covered with bandages, she had this urge to rip off the bandages but she didn't had courage to face his claim of ownership. Two days since she last saw him, two days since she last had any contact with outer world except a maid that was incharge of her supplies, her meals and her necessaries.
Sadie flinched when she heard opening of door, she didn't moved, her back rested firmly against the mattresses, her eyes closed.
"And I thought you were dead."
Sadie slowly opened her eyes before turning to look her right.
"I wish I was." Her words took Miranda off guard, but she didn't showed it on her face. Sadie sighed before twisting and sitting with her back against the backrest.
Miranda shrugged her shoulders before looking around with a distant look in her eyes.
"So, he decided to share his room with you." Miranda said to herself. Her heart ached with solitude as she realised it was very first time she had seen Silvio's room. It had been years but Silvio never considered him that important to show her his darkness.
Miranda turned to look at Sadie.
And here he was willingly keeping a woman hostage in his room.
Miranda scoffed inwardly at the thought.
"Why are you here?" Sadie asked carefully. She didn't missed the hatred in Miranda's eyes. The black shinning dress looked marvelous on her, with her silver equally glimmering heels. The curves of her hips making her look like a seductress.
"I was bored, needed an companion." Miranda said.
Sadie instinctively tightened her grip on sheets before swallowing.
Miranda noticed her reaction and rolled her eyes.
"As much as I dislike you, I would never hurt you, you know." She raised her brows before walking towards her. Sadie looked at her cautiously till she reached the bed.
"Wanna hang out?" Miranda asked, with a smile. Sadie contemplated for a second. She couldn't trust her, but something was telling her to say yes. She knew it was wrong, but she already had so many wrong deeds.
But what about Silvio? Her heart skipped a beat. She wasn't ready for another punishment but the genuine smile on Miranda's face asked her something else.
She had to decide.
"But Silv-" Sadie started.
"Relax, I've got his permission." Miranda smirked.
The car ride was strangely quiet for her. The surroundings were no strange anymore, she had somehow managed to learn that Silvio's estate locate din middle of nowhere, somewhere away from city, making it more secure for him and disadvantageous for her.
She didn't minded anymore.
Sadie looked down at her lap as she caressed the fabric of her dress.
Shiffon.
Miranda gave her fresh set of clothes, which consisted of a soft pastel pink shiffon short dress with pair of white belly.
Sadie didn't considered doing her hairs or anything, keeping it simple unlike her chaotic life.
Taking a deep breath, she looked outside. The surroundings had started to fade into city buildings, making her strangely nervous.
"Would you like to eat something first?" Miranda asked, she had finally placed her phone down, the woman looked completely different from earlier. Sadie knew she shouldn't trust her, but what was right or wrong, she couldn't tell anymore.
Why was she being so nice to her? Sadie contemplated.
With a small nod of her head, Sadie mumbled a yes. Miranda smiled warningly before telling the driver to take them to nearest cafe. Without any doubt, the driver obeyed, with two black cars closely following behind them. The car came to halt when she caught a glimpse of cafe around the corner.
"Come on, I myself am little hungry." Miranda grumbled before stepping outside, with Sadie following her. Now that they were outside, Sadie noticed the height difference between her and Miranda. Miranda was taller than her, maybe few inches shorter than Silvio.
The cafe where they decided to have meal was not much extravagant but still elegant. Sadie could swiftly smell the freshly cooked pasta and lasagna as she stepped inside. The hustle and bustle of people around somewhat made her happy for a minute. Sadie stopped short when she caught few shadows lurking behind them, her mind paralysed as she remembered the last time she was left alone.
Beads lf sweat caressed her head.
"Calm down, they're Silvio's men. The man cannot just let you go unprotected." Miranda said from front with a dismissing wave of her hand. Now that she mentioned, Sadie realised it was Silvio from whom she needed protection.
With a slight sigh, she followed Miranda to their table.
The round table looked perfect for two people, the contrasting light green cloth was draped over the wooden table, and few decorating white and pastel pink flowers were placed in centre. She liked the decoration.
Taking a seat, she looked at Miranda, waiting for her to say something.
"What you want?" Miranda asked, picking up the menu and looked over it.
"Lasagna, pasta... spaghetti, pizza napoletana, panzanella...."
"Pasta with cheese, please." Sadie politely interrupted. Miranda gave her a look before nodding her head. After ordering for herself and Sadie, Miranda sighed and leaned back against the chair before crossing her arms over her chest, the fabric made her chest pop, which she didn't minded.
"So....tell me about yourself." Miranda's question took her off guard. She looked confused at her, battling if she really meant that. It wasn't like Miranda liked her, but something was strange.
"I'm a doctor-"
"Oh, please! Not that bullshit. About yourself and I mean it." Miranda rolled her eyes. Sadie furrowed her brows.
"There's nothing much to know about me." Sadie mumbled quietly.
Miranda zeroed her eyes.
"There has to be something special about you, why is he so insanely attached to you then?" Miranda's cold voice chilled her spine. Sadie flinched with her words.
"Trust me, that's what I've been trying yo know." Miranda noticed solitude in her voice and decided to leave the topic with a sigh. Her eyes looked over the wi dow to their left as she looked outside.
Sadie tried and failed to read her. The look on Miranda's face had changed to gruesome, something looked off about her. Sadie couldn't quiet put her finger on it.
"I was ten when I first saw him, our fathers were close friends." Miranda looked at Sadie with a sigh and loomed down at her hands. "We were closer back then, we used to share each and everything with each other. But..."
Sadie caught glimpse of sorrow in her words.
"Happiness is not permanent. The time we both lost our fathers, Silvio decided to detach himself from any of us. Revenge, it became his strength. Trained himself well, his men, created his own kingdom to rule, not that he needed to, but he managed to make his dead father proud. Since i had nowhere to go, he took me in." A single tear escaped Miranda's eyes as she avoided eye contact.
"My father never loved me, you know. For him I was an abomination." Sadie gulped hard. She could feel ger sorrow, she herself had tried to get his father's attention for years, but at last all she she got was hate. She could somehow relate herself to her situation.
"I was told that my mother had picked me up from under the bridge," Miranda chuckled. "I still wished she would had left me there."
Sadie's heart squeezed.
"For a time, a really short time, I thought maybe I could find love in Silvio. You know, die for each other kind." Miranda sighed before wiping a lone tear, she looked up and Sadie froze.
"I'm not made for him,"
"Do you hate me for that?" Sadie asked carefully.
Miranda chuckled lowly.
"I don't hate you, Sadie. I just envy you. The man I was supposed to be with, is yours now." Her words felt like salt on her wounded heart.
"I never wanted this."
"So do I, but that's what life is, isn't it." Sadie swallowed hard, her palms extra sweaty. Miranda notice the discomfort.
"Anyways, I mean no harm to you. My happiness lies in his. Hope you never betray him or," the threat remained lingering in air.
The food arrived. Sadie couldn't decide if it was her mind or she was feeling paranoid. Miranda hadn't said anything wrong, but the confession seemed rather perplexed.
They finished their food, without any exchange of words. Sadie could somehow feel the pain behind Miranda's face, she knew how it felt to be unloved especially by the person who you had devoted your life to. Her mind filling her heart with careless whispers, the tales of her life, her decisions-
"Signora-scusa!" Sadie gasped as red wine washed over her dress, the waitress had managed to lut aside the tray as she immediately took few tissues and dabbed them on her stained dress.
"It's alright." Sadie mumbled as woman kept repeating same words. Miranda rolled her eyes and ordered her to show restroom to her.
Sadie smiled at Miranda before following the waitress who kept mumbling sorry. They were two meters away from the restroom when in no time Sadie felt something cold pressed agaisnt her lower back. For a minute, she froze but then slowly looked over her shoulder. The waitress had a smirk on her lips as she pressed the gun further.
"Move." The woman said, and Sadie paralysed. Of course! Nothing would be this simple. For now, Sadie knew it was nice of her to follow her, the bullet was faster than her movement.
The waitress pushed Sadie inside the restroom and closed the door behind.
"W-who are you?" Sadie stuttered as the woman pulled out a box from her pocket. A small smirk over her lips made Sadie tremble.
"Open it." She passed the box towards Sadie, the gun now pressed agaisnt her temple. With trembling hands, Sadie somehow managed to open the box, her brows furrowed as she looked inside before looking up at the woman.
The woman chuckled.
"Come on, read it." There was piece of paper inside the box along with a phone. Sadie breathed hardly and gripped the paper within her trembling fingers.
Caught you.
Two words were written and Sadie looked shockingly at the woman.
"Wh-what's this?"
"Keep this phone, you'll know." The woman said and pressed the gun against her neck now.
Sadie flinched.
"One word to Silvio or anyone about this, your father will pay the price or better," the woman laughed. "Your sister."
