Chapter 47 He's coming
She felt a immediate rush of pain attacking her as she stirred to her left. It took her a whole minute to sit up as she struggled to keep her eyes open. Groaning, she managed to found herself in sitting position.
"Miss Quintin." A faint voice again called to her with softness drawing her out of her peaceful slumber as she promptly awaken to the soothing sound of the female.
Frowning with perplexity that bounded her to take in her surroundings. She was in same room she had been residing in past few days, but she was not in same place she achingly slept last night by the cold material of couch rather she was nestled upon the soft mattresses, embraced warmly beneath the velvet blanket and warm quilt. How did I get here? She wondered with doubt.
"Master Anderson is calling you. He says he needs to talk urgently." The woman who hovered over the side of the bed. Sadie yawned as she gazed at the red haired woman. Sadie found herself perplexed with the warm smile lingering over her soft pink lips.
"Yes. Sure." Her face lightened up as she bowed her head in order to pay respect. Sadie looked with awe at the red haired woman. She had vaguely seen something so enchanting, and her emerald green eyes. For a second she wondered, how did this beautiful soul stumbled here.
"Your clothes and other necessities are already placed in the bathroom. If you need anything else, pease enlighten me." Sadie found herself returning her warm smile as she nodded her head with reverence and tried to get up.
"Thank you, umm-" she let her sentence linger in the air whilst she wished for woman to tell Sadie her name.
"Oh! Mina. My name's Mina." Sadie smiled politely at her whilst she beamed up at her with delight. Sadie did not knew if she was content with the idea that Sadie was being humble to her or she was always this cheerful whilst the surroundings they were in.
"Would you like some breakfast?"
"I would love to but I think I should talk to Alejandro first." Sadie murmured whilst gradually arising from the mattresses and again groaned.
"But you can give me some asprin if there's available any." Sadie said clutching the side of her head as again a wave of dizziness hit her. Mina immediately nodded and rushed towards the door before mumbling a cheerful 'alright'.
Sadie smiled as she stammered towards the bathroom before opening the door and walking her. Like Mina said earlier, pair of new undergarments and fresh set of clothes were placed over the cabinet along with new brush. Sadie was relieved to find new clothes.
She brushed her teeth. Opening the glass door, she steeped under the shower as warm water cascaded down her body in ruffled waves. Closing her eyes, she threw her head back and ran her fingers through her hairs. If was matter of time when water swept away her tiredness and she again found herself thinking about last night.
It was absurd but she was feeling light.
Despite her drunken state, she remembered every single word Silas had filled her with. From her mother's sacrifice for her to Alejandro's cruelty. The thought made her angry. Now she knew whom to blame. But what could it do? Blaming him wouldn't bring her mother back.
She sighed.
Turning the shower off, she stepped outside. Drying her body, she changed into fresh set of clothes. Like yesterday, she was given a loose sweatshirt and baggy pants. She never complained. Least she could get was comfortable clothes.
Rubbing her hairs with dry towel, she managed to get rid of excess water. Leaving them open to dry naturally. Disposing her torn clothes in bin, she walked inside the room. To her surprise, she found a glass of water and few pills right above the table beside the bed and few slices of fruits.
A smile tugged on her lips as she found a note attached to vase near.
'Eat something before taking asprin.'
Consideration filled her making her feel wanted as she took few bites of apple before taking asprin. She frowned when she didn't sensed Mina's presence again. She wasn't much hungry, so she walked outside the room. Two guards were stationed in fron the room. They immediately sensed her presence as she looked around unsurely.
"Umm- Alejandro-"
"Follow me." One of the bulky man said as he motioned her to follow his steps. Sadie nodded. Her feet followed him as she prepared herself to face Alejandro. The man had already hide so much from her. She needed truth. And this time, she demanded real answers not some vague bluffs. She had now understand Alejandro's way.
He was a manipulative màn. He knew how to play with someone's mind to make them dance on his strings. And initially she was dancing to his tunes.
The guard stopped in front to same room she was familiar with when she first came here. The room was same. Bland and cold.
The guard motioned her towards the door and asked her to go inside. She nodded and walked inside.
She wasn't surprised when she found Alejandro standing near the window with a cigarette in his hand. She scoffed. The man didn't loved his health at all. The guard left. Alejandro kept looking outside despite her presence. As he finished his cigarette, he let out smoke in air. The fog surrounded his face as he closed his eyes in bliss as it filled his nostrils.
"How many?"
He opened his eyes and frowned as he looked over his shoulders at the woman. Sadie had her hands over her chest as she glared at him. Alejandro looked into her eyes and for a second he saw remains of his sister. He hadn't forget the time she used to glare at him whenever they would disagree.
"What?" He looked confusedly at her.
Sadie sighed. And licked her dry lips. Her choclate eyes held the glint of defiance. She was becoming resilient. No longer the woman, Alejandro had thought her to be. Her resistance was both amusing and frustrating.
"How many more lies are you going to serve me?" Alejandro raised his brows in offense. What was she talking about?
Sadie scoffed at his clueless face and clenched her jaw.
"Didn't you feel an ounce of mercy when you killed my father? Being a family, you still separate a mother from her child? Did you feel an ounce of humanity when you destroyed my family?" Her words calm. Just before the storm. Alejandro looked taken aback. How did she knew?
"All my life I blamed her. Thinking she might hated me. When were you going to tell me the truth?" She looked coldly at him. Things were ripped away from her within an instance. She didn't had time to remember a little detail. Every little ounce of love, admiration she had for her mother had returned, making her feel bad, an unreliable guilt. That's not what she needed to find herself at peace.
A simple goodbye, would had sufficed.
Sadie, in any case, was too immersed with lies to even say that.
But this fundamental truth was eating her, clawing at her soul. She suddenly remembered every loveable memory she had with her mother. A bond made of glass, the purity it held. Suddenly was broken, and now suddenly retouched.
"I don't understand what you're say-"
"You killed her, didn't you?" She said in a monotonous voice. Countable words relented vast meaning. Alejandro rolled his eyes. He was not ready for this conversation. His plans were suddenly backfiring him. This was not he had initially planned. No. He wanted to brainwash her, and his son. To use her against Silvio Salvatore. And confirm his demise. And probably after that he would sell her to other mafia clan for alliance.
This was his plan.
"YOU KILLED HER, DIDN'T YOU?!" She yelled. Suddenly hot tears stung her eyes, she remembered everything. With rushing steps she found herself walking towards him with urgent steps. Alejandro was stunned when she grabbed him by the collar and shouted at his face.
"You're a murderer! A fucking lunatic son of a bitch!" Alejandro's eyes widened. He was too stunned to think something.
His startelment bubbled in anger when he got his senses back. Grinding his teeth, he grabbed her wrists. The hold tightened as she glared at him.
"Leave." He gritted his teeth. His jaw clenched. His hold tightened on her wrists but she didn't show any sign of uncomfortableness.
She scoffed.
"You're pathetic, Alejandro. You really think you would be able to use me against Silvio?" She chuckled dryly as she leave him with a slight push. He stumbled back but immediately regained his posture before he could fall back.
"Your lies won't be able to work more on me. I might have made a mistake coming here but trust me, when he'll come for her, you'll be begging for your death." She was angry. His lies poked her like a hot knife, digging and burning deeper until it's pierced through. And you finally realise you're just a less than.
Not even worth to miss to her mother.
Tears flowed down her eyes. She might had died years ago, but now the pain was embedded in her like a part of her own. She felt like a part of her was gone. Locked away from the rest of her.
She suddenly missed a lot of people.
Her mother.
Who's last words to her was, "you're a abomination. A disgrace to this family. An illegitimate child."
Her father.
"I cannot love you, Sadie."
Her sister.
"I love you, Sadie."
Silvio.
"I like submissive kind of women, and I'll make sure to bend you to my rules."
She closed her eyes. Some were more attainable than others. But what was gone in a physical sense, was unapproachable.
"So what? What if I lied? What can you even do, you dumb girl?!" Sadie wasn't prepared as Alejandro's hand wrapped around her slender neck. Her eyes widened as he slammed her against the wall. Her fingers clawed at his knuckles as it tightened around her neck.
"L-leave m-me!" She struggled.
Alejandro sneered at her with fire burning in his eyes. Ready to burn her.
"I killed her. She was going to ruin my fucking clan. She needed to die. But you!" He slammed her again. "The moment I knew she had a daughter, I had decided you would play with my rules. Everything was going fine until Silvio stepped in. The bastard was already in my radar but it made things more easier."
Sadie felt anger rushing through her veins as he smirked at her face.
"He will die and I'll make sure you watch. Just like I killed his father. And you. You'll be a price that'll give me more power." Sadie felt blood running through her veins turning cold.
So this was his plan all along.
She concluded.
It wasn't anymore shocking, she had somehow expected it.
Alejandro let go as he pulled her hairs in a fist.
"I was being too nice. Now, I'll show you my true colors." She felt whole world spinning as Alejandro slapped her hard. The impact had her stumble as she fell over her knees, her eyes watering as she fisted her hands besides her.
She was too demented when a guard walked rushing inside the room. Alejandro glared at him as the guard looked awfully pale and feared.
"What happened now?" Alejandro growled.
"We're under attack, sir." Alejandro grew pale as he looked at the guard.
"Who?"
"S-Silvio Salvatore."
Sadie smirked. Alejandro looked shocked at her as she laughed. Her laugh send chills down his spine.
Her blood red eyes rose upto him as she held his gaze. Alejandro felt his blood turning cold as she spoke.
"The devil's here, Alejandro. Be sure to watch your back."
