Chapter 38 Like him

Careful there."
Silas pressed his palm against my skin as Dr. Clara pressed on certain vein. Applying the gel, she carefully wrapped the injured area with thick clothed gauze. Placing the unused things in the medium sized bag, she dusted the non-existent dirt off her sleek charcoal pencil skirt and got up.
Adjusting the glasses over her pale, snow-white face, she looked at Silas. His palm against the blade of my shoulder did not moved an inch as he acknowledged the doctor.
"It's just a minor sprain. She'll be alright. Use this gel twice a day till the swollen area becomes normal." Silas nodded his head. Alejandro grumbled like he was extremely disappointed and folded his arms across his chest. His hazel eyes piercing through doctor.
"She better be alright. I don't want her limping like a good for nothing-"
"Father!"
I flinched as Silas growled over me. My heart beat was already unstable and this man made his mission to not let me be normal for a freaking second. My thoughts were devastated. I felt nothing yet I was anxious. Maybe it was the fact that I was with Silvio's enemies. Silas indeed was a foe, but why was I this much delusional to saw facade on Alejandro's face.
However, the older man remained unaffected.
"Don't raise your voice at me. I'm your fucking father!"
"Then fucking act like one!"
I couldn't breathe. The tension in room was thicker than I had anticipated. Silas's fists clenched as he glared at his father, the bone of his jaw twitching showing his annoyance with former. Alejandro, on other hand looked exceptionally yet daringly calm, the roll of his eyes indicated his chilled form.
Quiet surprisingly, I had come to calculate the situation I was immersed in. Not only I was confined by Silas and his father, I was also the one who willingly get myself into this tragic situation. Silvio would be disappointed in me. There was this ache in me that wanted to go back and cry in Silvio's arms, and other part of me was scared, anxiousness about how would be behave.
I was scared of his reaction.
Also I knew he would find the buttoned-phone under the bed of our room. Our.
I sighed as Alejandro scoffed, muttered something disrespectful under his breath and stormed away as Dr. Clara followed behind him. Silas sighed.
I missed h-
"Juice or coffe?"
What?
I looked confusedly as Silas gazed down at me. What was he saying? Sensing the devastation on my face, the hazel eyed man chuckled.
"For breakfast, Cara. Do you prefer Juice or coffe?" No! Don't call me that! Please!
I lowered my head, not showing emotions twirling in my eyes for that word. How was that endearing was supposed to calm my raging heart when the speaker was none other than the man who seeked my lover's blood.
My lover.
I sighed again.
What was wrong with me? Why was this desperation getting on my nerves. It had been only countable hours and I had already started to miss the devil. The one who had caged my heart in the clutches of his darkness. God! I fucking missed his voice.
"I-I am alright. I'm not much hung-"
And ladies and gentlemen, my stomach decided to offend me in ways that I seeked a place to hide my face. Embarrassment lurked in my veins and crimson colour painted over my cheeks. Tp hide my rising uneasiness, I hastily nodded my head.
"C-coffe!" My voice came out as shriek as Silas loudly laughed. Feeling offended I was ready to shot him a glare but halted as my eyes landed on him.
He had his head thrown back, his soft-featured lips stretched into full grin, the lids of his eyes covered the hazel orbs. For the very first time, I had seen a glowy glint on his chiseled face. The one that could light up the world, it weirdly looked genuine. I ahd never seen him like this, then again, I had barely seen him.
Unlike Silvio, Silas couldn't hide his emotions.
Not to miss that his hand was still hovered over my shoulder blade.
"Come, I'll get something for you."
I jerked when a hushed thought crossed my mind. Why was Silas so mild towards me? What wa sin it for him? Was I missing something or again I was being paranoid. It felt like he knew me since childhood and was generally interested in my life.
So, instead of speaking up and answering him, I jerked his hand away, and moved away to put distance between the two of us.
Silas didn't liked that. He narrowed his eyes, and moved to match my actions, keeping his eyes on me.
"W-why are you doing this?"
My heart raced, increasing in speed the longer Silas watched me with his dark gaze. I felt overwhelmed and helpless under his gaze, one moment he was all laughing and at another he looked like he was ready to go berserk. Not to miss that his hand was still hovering in air.
"Let's eat."
The hazel eyed man ignored my question, stead his voice was deeper now. Losing the soft hint he held prior. Everything stilled, including Silas and my raging heart as the sound of footsteps resonated in corridor. His eyes didn't left mine as i tried to held his menacing gaze. Soon the loud, rythmic sound of footsteps was joined by few hushed conversations. It didn't took long before Edward rounded the door. Once his eyes landed on us, he stopped.
"Silas?" Edward exclaimed as he narrowed his eyes, mimicking the Silas's. "What're you doing here?"
Edward brushed past the maid who accompanied him, and moved to stand in front of Silas, blocking our gazes. He was about to ask something when Silas interrupted.
"I don't have time for your shit. Get out of my way!"
I could see the two men tensed out of the corner of my eyes. My own body did too, but I didn't let that show. Instead I averted my gaze to the maid.
"What're you doing here? With her?" Edward asked, I saw his dark eyes narrowed in peculiar manner as he motioned towards me.
This. This was what I was initially talking about? Edward still didn't trusted me. Not that I wanted him to, but he still assumes things añd held me responsible for things I never did. A maniac.
"Come on, you're hungry."
Silas didn't gave me moment to look before talking a step towards me. My lungs constricted as he grabbed me by my upper arm. He pulled me up as I gasped and tightened his hold, easily forgetting about the injury of mine.
"Don't touch her."
Edward said, in rather calm way. I hadn't realised I wasn't breathing anymore until the burn in my throat became a familiar one that went hand in hand with not getting air into my lungs.
It was a shame I was again going to witness Edward's madness.
Silas was quick to shot a hateful look towards the man. Tightening his hold, he jerked me towards him, only my fragile body to land against his. I was too panicked to butt in, bit I managed to get my heart rate under control, enough to stand still on my feet. Despite the striking pain, I was quiet stable.
"She's not yours."
Silas's tone matches Edward's. I couldn't believe I would found myself in this situation again, after all those years. I was again being subjected, talked about like a thing, a trophy. Why was this so difficult?
"She's not yours either."
"I don't know what you're talking about." I tried to jerk my arm away only for Silas to pull me to him. "But I don't belong to anyone. I'm not a thing."
I was surprised to find the stability in my voice. A sharp jab to my side had me hissing. I looked over to the source to find Silas looking down at me from the corners of his narrowed eyes.
"You're hungry, right?"
He gritted his teeth. He suddenly mimicked Silvio's anger. His voice deeper than usual, hinting his annoyance with my words. Edward glared down at me.
I had to choose.
Edward meant harm. And Silas was far more dangerous.
"I-I'm hungry." I said. And Silas nodded his head. Tilting his head towards Edward, he raised his brows.
"You heard her."
I was left wondering as Silas quickly pulled me by my arm before dragging me along with him, not paying any attention to my broken foot. Why bother getting it fixed when he was about to break it again. As we exited the room, Silas was immediate to bend down and hoisted me up in his arms. My whole body tensed, and I thrashed.
"What're you doing?! Leav-"
"Shut up."
Not only his anger, but his words also sounded like Silvio's.
