Chapter 50 Leading to nowhere

"So...I am gonna ask you this for the last time...where the hell is she?" Silvio quipped as he kick Severin harshly over the curve of his abdomen, just over the wound he had inflicted on him few minutes ago. Severin groaned as he rolled over in pain, his eyes closed shut while he pressed the area where Silvio had shot him. The blood had started to pool around him and he could find himself already on verge of losing conciouness.
"You...will pay for this....for betraying me...." Severin moaned out in agony as Silvio pressed his foot against his wounded side more firmly.
He looked down at him with coldness marring his eyes.
"I assure you," he said calmly. "If any harm is to come to her, this visit will not end well....for you and your family." Despite being injured, Severin still manged to look heatedly at him.
"You bastard, you knew she was here....yet you deceive me." Severin looked at Silvio as the latter glared at him with anger aflame in his icy grey orbs, before landing another kick with the force that send Severin sliding against the floor.
"Very well...." Silvio said removing the safety of pistol as he pointed it towards injured man. "You don't seem to love the idea of living... I'll make it easy for you."
Severin's eyes widened as he breathed heavily.

Sadie flinched with a painful hiss as he wrapped his handkerchief around her bloodied wrist. She looked perplexed at him wondering when did he strated carrying this small piece of cloth. Her brown eyes collided with his dark orbs as he looked sharply at her.
"Is there any part that isn't bruised or injured? What are you? Five? Can't you take care of yourself for a second? The chains were metallic, then why the fuck were you trying to get free knowing it will led to nowhere? Do you take yourself as substitute of superwoman?" Sadie blinked her at him, tears glistening her eyelashes as she looked naively at him.
Dante took a sharp breath.
He looked away.
"I am sorry." He didn't knew why was he even bothering to make her understand. It had become like a constant habit of him to save her. First he saved her from Liam, then from Alejandro's men and now he was again standing in same situation. Although he didn't mind. Sadie was the first woman he ever felt connected to.
Sadie averted her eyes.
"I'm sorry for being a...you know...burden." She mumbled quietly under her breath. Dante looked at her, his eyes soft with warmth.
"We can talk about this later." Sadie licked her dry lips to hide her embarrassment while nodding her head. Indeed, it wasn't time to explore past or any thing at all. They needed to get out of the situation as soon as possible, the swifter they do, more better ot would be for them.
Dante secured the knot before tightening it. His eyes looked over her body once again, he didn't wanted Silvio to see her like this. The present mafia leader not only slice him if he found any scratch over her, but he would burn down the whole world. Dante had already seen the devil dancing in his eyes, the melodies her eyes plays. Dante eyed her carefully when his eyes landed on bruise over her left cheek. Due to less intensity of light he couldn't clearly see it, but he could saw swollen area. His jaw tensed as his eyes went ballistic.
Sadie noticed his sudden change as she saw where his eyes were looking. She furrowed her brows in confusion. Then suddenly something clicked.
"We need to hurry! There's someone else we need to save too!" She shook him before grabbing his shoulders. Dante blinked as he looked hardly at her.
"We don't have time to save anyone. I need to get you out of here asap. Just follow my instructions and don't get yourself in any more trouble." Sadie jumped startled as Dante grabbed her upper arm before dragging her with him. His fast and long strides made her jog behind him whilst she tried to convince him.
"No! No! No! We can't leave him here. They will kill him." Dante stopped in his track. His sudden hindered actio made her collide with his back. She groaned as she rubbed her head.
"Oww!"
"Him? Who is this him?" Dante inquired keeping his eyes straight. Sadie looked up at him and her frown deepened.
"I don't know him but he definitely isn't one of Silas's men. He is just like me. Forced and wounded." Dante groaned as Sadie quickly stood in front of him and grabbed his hands between her as she looked pleadingly with gleaming eyes. Dante's breath hitched. He could swore his heart skipped a beat as she give him her relative soft look.
"Please, Dante." Her bottom lip tugged outward as she blinked her eyes.
"Ple-"
"Fuck!" Dante cursed under his breath as he threw his head back in frustration, not at her but at himself. How could glossy eyes and wobbling lips could make him so indecisive? If Silvio ever found that he went against his order, he would definitely kill him. And he would probably burry him alive if he compromised Sadie's safety by any means.
Than he again looked at her.
Fuck.
He shook his head.
"Okay. Which floor?" He asked averting his eyes, looking anywhere but at her. He didn't wanted her eyes to make him do something that would make him go against Silvio.
"G-ground!" Sadie stammered as she immediately grabbed his arm before dragging him towards the stairs when Dante pulled her back. She stumbled upon her foot when two strong arms were wrapped securely around her waist.
"YOU will follow me not otherwise, got it?" He raised his brows. Sadie saw his dark orbs gleaming with adamant determination, showing her he could easily show her whose in charge if she tries something reckless. Not that she was planning to, but still.
"Alright." She nodded her head, he gently raised her to her feet before giving her a stern nod to follow him quietly. Sadie cautiously took a deep breath before following him.
They were on last floor. Dante had already checked the elevator before coming here. There was hardly any security on last floor which confirms one thing. Second last and fourth floor would definitely be armed. Only route to go for ground floor was stairs. But they provide hardly any escape if anything happens. He had to think, to come up with something that could save them both.
Both of them were standing above the last step of stair when a loud gunshot resonated just from the floor beneath them. Sadie jumped startled whilst Dante quickly pushed her behind him. Gunshot could only confirm one thing, fifth floor was also captured. Possibilities were fifty-fifty. Either Silvio had made his way to fifth floor or Andersons had found one of their men. Either cases were terrifying.
Dante was startled when he heard rushed footsteps coming their way.
"Shit! Shit! Shit!...." He quickly grabbed Sadie's arm as he dragged her with him.
~~
Sadie tried not to make any noise as she circled her arms around herself to make her squeeze into a small ball. The top floor didn't offer much space, despite two rooms and one small open space, which she took for living area and a small looking bar.
Sweat beads tickled down ber spine as she looked nervously towards the door. Her eyes flipping now and then bewteen the door and the bed. Her heart beat frantically as she tried not to panic despite knowing there was a dead body beneath the bed.
They had change of plans.
She just hoped whoever was outside didn't suspect Dante.
Plan B.
Dante ahd immediately rushed her into the same room, tied her hands to metal chains like before as he dragged the dead carcass of guard outside inside before hiding it under the bed. Dante ahd stripped the man naked, and changed into his clothes.
This was in their favour as Dante put mask on and Sadie couldn't distinguish between him.
He felt relieved.
Sadie could hear the conversation outside.
"You know what to do, right?"
Her eyes widened.
Edward.
She didn't other voice.
"Take her to airport, Randy will be there. I'll meet you in France." She panicked. Her heart skipped several beats, the shiver of fear made her paralysed and all she could do was pray.
"And make sure you don't find Silas in your way. I have doubts on him. He'll probably try to stop you. If his ideology is changed, don't hesitate to pull the trigger."
Sadie looked horror-stricken towards the door. She couldn't believe her ears. Edward was adamant to make her his, by hook or crook. His anatomical thinking scared her for her life.
Re-analyzing the situation she was engrossed deeply in, she barely had a minute moment to review her scattered thoughts. She was slightly relieved also that it was Dante outside, not the guard. She couldn't help but imagine herself being dragged to her destiny if it wasn't for Dante to come in time and save her. He always act like a knight, ready to save damsel in distress.
Edward gave Dante a curt nod, not realising that the man was now different from earlier. Dante had black mask, he nodded. It took him a moment to wait when Edward gave him a stern look before rushing towards the stairs leading fifth floor. This made situation more complicated. Dante had never seen this man, nor he know of anyone who could be related to Andersons.
A sudden anger rushed through him when he processed his words more carefully.
He wanted to elope with Sadie.
He had to make a move before Andersons tries to ruin their plan.
~~
Silas cursed under his breath as he smashed one of the expensive looking vase on the head of man grabbing him. His fist move forwards before knocking the man to the ground. He breathed heavily as he eyed two dead bodies lying in front of him. One of them had three bullets in his chest and abdomen and other had open skull.
"Fucking bastards." He groaned as he rubbed his shoulder blade. Blood seeped through his arm as he pulled the blade before leaving a loud hiss of curses.
Dropping the blade on the ground he picked his gun before loading it fully.
His eyes snapped towards the entrace of stairs as he heard three gunshots. Silvio was near and he could feel it, hear it. He needed to move to sixth floor, but he stopped. It would be a easy lead for Silvio if he found her exact location. Silas decided against it. His first motive was now changed. He needed to clear the stairs, if he wanted to save her and himself.
After securing his position behind the pillars right in front of closed elevator and opposite of stairs, be turned the safety off before positioning towards the stairs. It provided easy access to his enemy. His ears perked when he heard a sound from stairs. And to his surprise, the footsteps were loud and urgent coming from floor above him.
His eyes narrowed as his position changed and he pointed it towards the stairs leading to fifth floor.
"But we need to save him first! Please! I won't go with-"
"Just shut up, woman! We don't have time to play savior. I need to get you to Silvio first."
"But Dante-"
Silas froze as he heard very familiar voice of Sadie. His eyes narrowed as he saw her descending down the stairs with a man grabbing her by the arm as he dragged her along with him. At first he couldn't recognise the man, but he knew it was Dante as she had mentioned in their conversation. He was startled to see him. He hadn't expected him to reach her.
"I said I will help him. Not you."
"But he's injured-"
"Then there's no need to save him. He'll die anyways."
"No! You've to save him. I promise I'll-"
Silas looked both shockingly and confused as Dante immediately turned around and grabbed her by the shoulders before shaking her as she stared at him with wide eyes.
"I WILL SAVE HIM. NOT YOU." He emphasized each word and after a moment Sadie nodded.
"Okay."
Silas could now make out their plan. Dante was assigned to help Sadie. Silvio would probably go for Alejandro. He looked down with furrowed brows as he thought something.
Dante nodded and was about to take a step leading to thirds floor when suddenly something was smashed against his head knocking him to the ground. Sadie gasped as she screamed while covering her mouth.
"Dante!"
She was about to take a step towards him when she felt being pulled back as something cold was pressed against her temple.
"Take one step, amd I'll blow his brains out."
