Chapter 39 Severin
The rich caramel melted in my mouth, the alluring aroma of pancakes captivated me to have another bite. Despite knowing that I was being continously watched, I suddenly felt more cautious and uneased. My fingers carefully confined around the porcelain cup, till now I didn't knew how badly I was shaking.
Ignoring his entire existence, I took another bite of sweet pancakes and swallowed the delicacy with a full sip of coffee. What could be more specific that caramel melted pancakes and a dark cream covered cup of coffee.
I take my words back.
I had been less aware of the fact that Silas was internationally making me nervous. His divinely beautiful face and handsome features weren't helping either. Through the corner of my eyes, I could saw him leaning back against the chair with his muscles arms folded across his chest. He had his head tilted towards right as he watched me with his hawk like eyes, shamelessly not hiding the fact that I know he was gazing at me.
I was taking another bite when my eyes met his, a dark gruesome look had already plastered ove rhis sinful face. Losing the battle, I placed the fork down.
"Is something wrong?"
"No." He replied. The facade look still on his face.
"Then stop staring." I blushed trying to sip the coffee. I needed something to do, to engage myself so that I didn't get trapped into his lure.
"You always make it hard not to stare."
I choked on the coffee I desperately drank to hide my embarrassment. My cheeks were flushed with both startelment and panic. Lightly punching the area of my chest, I coughed. The chair was scrapped over the floor as Silas was quick to be my side, rubbing my back and provided me a glass of water. I tried to grab the glass but he was hast to replaced mine with his, placing one at the back of my head and other held the glass. He let out few curses, saying how much trouble I was.
A soothing sensation merges as cold water descended down my throat, ceasing the soreness. The birn started to dissipate, faded to one that would expect after consuming too hote of a meal.
My chest rapidly rose up and fell, as he placed the empty glass down.
"You almost got yourself killed!" Silas's angered words sounded off the walls, echoing in the silence between us.
I looked over find him standing towering over me, his hazel-angry eyes narrowed on me. He had helped me two times in a day, which shows how much irresponsible and weak I was. His golden eyes rose, meeting mine and turned a shade darker.
"I'm alright. Thanks." I muttered when I was sane enough to breathe in oxygen. But the taller man had another plans.
I was turned towards him as he grabbed the armrests of the chair, I was comfortably sitting on and turned it towards him.
"What're you doing?!"
"Feeding you."
I looked shocked, a little devastated that he had dragged another chair, facing towards me. What was wrong with him? I wretched as he pulled my chair towards him, trapping the sides with his legs, making sure I had no escape. His actions overwhelmed my senses. It was all confusing yet all-consuming. I had never witnessed this side of Silas. I knew I would have many sleepless nights from the glimpse of this moment, let alone of the eyes of the man who was responsible for it.
I might had too engrossed in my own thoughts when Silas brought the fork near my mouth. The rich aroma again overwhelmed my senses but this time there was Silas's manly sandalwood aroma was also mixed.
My stomach rolled over to the thought.
I was getting feed by a man, who demanded Silvio's blood.
How pathetic of me.
"Open your mouth." Why was he acting like I was his lover. We were anything but that. This was so sick, the scene was tempting my senses to choke. Effortlessly trying to get away, he had me all caged. He pressed the fork again against my lips, demanding to open. I looked away. The rebellious movement must had snapped his ego as he grabbed me by the neck, making a startled gasp leave my lips and jerked my head his way.
His hot breath framed over my face as I breathlessly closed my eyes. My chest rising up and down. I had clutched the armrests tightly to hide my trembling fingers. He had already seen my fear, it was useless of show him was weakened state. Like his actions, his words were unpredictable too. I had noticed as I felt his lips against the softness of my cheeks.
My eyes were immediate to open only to find him too close, his cheeks caressing mine as he traced the side of my mouth with his lips. I was too astonished to say anything.
"Obey me, Sadie. Just fucking obey me." He said, his lips kissing the side of my mouth. My eyes as wide as saucers. Why did it felt like I had escaped one mafia leader only to fall into another's hands? Why was Silas scaring me like this? What was yet to come?
~~
One night.
One whole night.
In this little spam of time he had lost the only piece of his heart he held dear to him. He realised how much he cherished her when she was away from him. He had missed her presence when he slept, to feel her soft curves against his own frame, tucked against him beneath the cold quilts. He had slept alone comfortably for years prior to her but now it suddenly bothered him. Not even in his youth did he yearn for the comforting presence of another.
An oddity in his work mostly, but uncommon to his heart.
This was new day, leading to new discoveries.
His room had memorised her scent, molded her scarcely absence. It had started to faint, the alluring scent of hers. His hand resting on the side of the bed she had once taken the residency of, the space between him and the wall. He liked it like that, even though she had betrayed him, he felt contemplated to know who was the culprit.
His fist curled into the fist at the thought. It was intrusive and made his innards twists violently with an ache he knew would never fade. At last, not while either one of them were alive.
If she was out there, she was in danger.
Haunted seemed to be destiny, a living man bounded my dead memories of the past.
He had watched Alejandro slicing his father's neck, destroy the single strand that held the broken family. He had suffered enough to demand Alejandro's blood. Even now, he could hear his mother's screams as she was dragged away. It was a painful memory but to him it reminded him of his motive, the reason he was alive, the last step to his journey.
Though, he despised Alejandro, Severin was no good either. Silvio was anything but a child when he watched his brother dying in his own arms. Gasping for breath, choking on his own blood. Silvio wanted revenge, to avenge his family.
He rolled onto his side as he stiffed his face into warmness of pillows. It still smelled like her.
Her.
Even thinking of her brought the ache tenfold with surfacing rage with the beat of his heart. How pathetic he had become, lying in his bed, she had committed a dreadful crime. As much he wanted to see her angelic face, to hear her alluring voice, to grab her by the curves of her body, he demanded obedience. She had escaped, flew away, from him, and for him it was unacceptable. He took it a blow to his manliness.
He sure was about to teach her a lesson or two. One that she would imprint on her mind.
He scoffed, sitting up, rolling his shoulders to ease the stiffness in his bones. His gaze wearily moved over to buttoned-phone placed over the bedside table. He had already read every singe message and he couldn't help but feel more angry. She had weakened him and it angered him to think that.
That his meticulous planning was about to fail. If, only if, she hadn't tried to escape, Silas's head would be under his feet. But now she was missing, she had become a liability. And god help him if anything happen to her.
He thought he had just lusted after her in more ways than one. He had thought he had been slowly dominating her, turning her submissive to him, everytime be pulled her body beneath his. Those memories inflicted heat within him taht burned him like flames. The feel of her skin everytime he dominated her sinfully addictive lips, he had thought he had been swaying her.
Everything was going smooth until she betrayed him.
The memory stained his desire and turned his body rigid.
He wanted to find her, and he also wanted revenge.
A battle he never knew he was destined for.
His train of thoughts came to halt as Micah knocked on the door. Silvio was immediate to change his expressions. His icy cold eyes looked towards the shorter man, as latter avoided his gaze. The tension between them last night was still lingering. After a whole minute, Micah slowly muttered.
"Severin is here."
