33. Jordan

**Jordan**

After leaving Caleb's room, I walk around the pack. I observe some pups playing in the snow while their mothers observe them. When the females see me, they look at me with wary eyes. I don't blame them. After all, I am an outsider to them.
I pull the collar of my jacket tight around my neck and keep walking.
My phone rings, and I take it out.
"Hey, Kevin," I say when I answer. "Everything alright?"
"More or less," my Beta says.
"What do you mean, more or less?"
"Some old pack members are gone. They disappeared the same day you left."
I frown because I don't like how this sounds. Why would pack members vanish?
"Who's missing?"
"I will send you the names in a text. Also, with you gone, the pack is restless. Ruth is giving a real headache."
I sigh. That female is only trouble. "What did she do this time?"
"Keeps nagging me all day long demanding to know when you are returning."
"I don't know when I am coming back. It may take a while," I say. "Caleb still doesn't trust me, and I haven't learned anything."
"Then why are you still here?" Kevin asks in a confused tone.
I pinch the bridge of my nose. "Because Rain is here, and I want to make sure she is well before I return. Also, I need to learn how to take care of the abused females."
"Rain is there? Why haven't you told me this before? Are you bringing her back? The pack needs her, Luna," Kevin says in a happy tone.
"She is not coming with me. The pack will have to live without a Luna," I say. Pain and regret of what I have done to Rain fill me.
"Why not? Rain is your soulmate."
"She rejected me, Kevin. I don't blame her, not after what I did to her. Besides, Caleb is her second soulmate. I think he will take care of her. He is good for her," I say.
"What the fuck? Did you really say that? I thought you couldn't live without her. What about the pack?"
I growl, "The pack will adapt!"
"If you say so, bro!"
"Is there something else you want to tell me?" I ask.
"Just return as soon as possible. I wasn't born to be an Alpha," he says before hanging up.
I keep walking for a long time while I check the message from Kevin. When I return to the Pack House is already dark.
Since I came to Caleb's Pack, I started getting close to Blade as I spent a lot of my time with him, talking. I decide to head to the kitchen. I hate the room that I'm staying in because every time I am inside, I am alone with my thoughts. At least with Blade, I have someone to talk to.
I spend a lot of time with Blade in the kitchen before we hear some strange noises coming from the entrance. Blade looks at me before picking up a knife. I open the door and sniff the air. When I smell some strange scents, I look at the Omega.
"I think the pack is under attack. Do you have a place where you can hide?" I ask.
Blade shakes his head. "I am not hiding. I might be an Omega, but I will defend my pack!"
I sigh and wonder if all Omegas are this stubborn.
I close the door, trying to make Blade see reason. He is a chef, not a warrior! But before I have a chance to convince him, the door opens. A feral wolf and two vampires rush in. While the wolf attacks me, the vampires go for Blade. Because why the fuck wouldn't they attack an Omega?
Minutes later, Rain appears, followed by Caleb. We were winning until my fucking father appeared. Wasn't he supposed to be in the Paranormal Prison?
I was supposed to be informed when he arrived at the Prison, but I never got a call because I thought the Wardner had forgotten. Now I realize that the Wardner didn't forget; my father never made it. After I beat the shit out of him again, I will personally take him to the Prison.
Everything goes to the drain when my father puts his hands on Rain and has Caleb shot. The way Rain screamed. Fuck! I am going to kill that monster!
The feral wolf, Paul, points the pistol at me while my father has Rain's unconscious body in his arms.
"I will kill you!" I say, looking into Ben's eyes. I refuse to think of him as my father.
"You don't have the balls to do it, boy!" Ben snarls.
The vampire keeps sucking Blade's blood, and the vampire with the snapped neck rise and does the same. Blade tries to fight, but blood loss weakens him.
A big puddle of blood has formed under Caleb, and he hasn't moved since he was shot. I fear the worse.
Ben puts his hand in his pocket and takes out a little syringe.
"Alvaro, get your fangs out of that Omega and inject my son with this!" Ben says, and one of the vampires obeys.
I wonder why two vampires are obeying Ben. It is not like vampires are afraid of werewolves.
The vampire injects the liquid into my arm, and I instantly feel the effect of wolfsbane. It weakens me, so I can't shift or fight back.
"Take her!" Ben says, handing me Rain.
I take her from his filthy hands and cradle her to my chest. On her left cheek, I can see red welts. I am sure she will have bruises on her beautiful face. Fuck! I am going to rip him to pieces!
"We have to go!" Paul says. "We already lost too much time!"
Ben takes the pistol from Paul. "Walk, boy!"
I narrow my eyes. "Where are you taking us?"
"To a place where I can teach you how to be a real male and Alpha!" Ben snarls.
I start walking while I wonder where the Enforcers and Conon are. Paul and the vampires walk in front of me while Ben is behind me.
Before leaving the kitchen, I take a last look inside, only to see Blade passed out next to Caleb. I hope, for the sake of Rain, that he is not dead. I watch his chest for a second, but I don't see any movement.
You better live, blue balls!
On the way from the kitchen to the entrance, I don't see or smell anyone. Where the fuck are the Enforcers?
Paul and the vampires go outside. I am about to go out the door when a young Omega comes running towards us. He has an umbrella in his hands. What the fuck does he think he will accomplish with an umbrella?
"Let the Luna alone!" the Omega yells before attacking Ben.
Paul intervenes, capturing the Omega. He hits the Omega hard, knocking him off.
"Take him as well. The vampires will have a little snack on the way!" Ben says, and I mutter under my breath.
I get out of Pack House and hear the sound of a fight behind it. Now I know where the Enforcers are.
Ben makes me walk through the forest while Paul carries the Omega over his shoulder.
We walk for some time, and the effects of the wolfsbane are starting to wear off. I am beginning to form a plan in my head when we reach a small clearing. Three feral wolves are guarding two cars.
Paul takes the Omega to one of the cars. The vampires get in the same car.
Ben makes me enter the other car. I sit in the back seat while I still cradle Rain.
"Give her here!" Ben orders me once he sits next to me.
"You are not touching her again!" I growl.
"Have it your way," Ben says before I feel a sharp pain in my thigh and blackout.
I wake up later with Rain and the Omega. A collar made from silver is around my neck, chaining me to the wall. The collar is so tight around my neck that it is biting into my skin. I ignore the pain while I examine Rain and the Omega. I expect to see the same collar on them, but they have silver manacles. Rain's chains are longer than mine, and I am sure she can reach the bed.
The silver keeps me weak and in pain, but I ignore it.
I inspect her, and apart from two small bumps on her head and bruises on her cheek, she appears fine. Her clothes are intact, and I let out the breath I was holding in. Thank fuck!
Next, I look at the Omega. His arms are covered in bite marks. Fucking vampires. His chains are short.
I am so fucking nervous I would give anything to smoke. Or to talk to Titan, but since Rain rejected us, he completely blocked me. I guess I am alone in this fucked up situation.
I look around, trying to figure out where we are.
We are inside a basement. To my left, I see some stairs that lead up. From a small window, I can see the moon, and I know it is still night.
A small bed is in one of the corners and a table with two chairs next to it.
Rain wakes up around fifteen minutes later. She looks at me before starting crying.
"Oh, Rain," I whisper.
"Caleb?" she asks in a defeated voice.
I remember the last time I saw him, lying on the cold floor of the kitchen. "He will live," I say to her.
"He was shot in the chest!" Rain shrieks.
"Caleb will fight to live for you!" I say in a loud tone.
Rain breathes hard and looks around her. She notices the Omega.
"Elton! Wake up!" She sees his hands and looks at me. "What is he doing here, and why is he covered in bites?"
"He tried to attack Ben with an umbrella, but the feral wolf knocked him cold. Ben took him as a blood bag for the vampires."
Rain bites her lip and looks at Elton. She shakes him, but Elton doesn't wake up.
I hear the door open, and someone comes down the stairs. Both me and Rain look at the stairs. When I see Ben, I curse him.
"Where the fuck are we?" I ask.
Rain runs to him, trying to attack him, but Ben grabs her by her arm. "Try that again, and I won't give you food for a week!"
He pushes Rain towards me, and she trips, but I manage to catch her before she falls.
"Are you alright?" I ask her, and she shakes her head. I look at Ben with angry eyes. "What the fuck do you want from us? And how the fuck did you escape?"
Rain goes over to Elton and shakes him a few more times, but he still doesn't wake up. I think the vampires drank a lot of his blood, and now he is weak.
Ben laughs. "If you think I don't have loyal people in my pack, then you should think better, boy!"
"I am not a boy! And the pack is not yours anymore! Not after what you've done!" I snarl. "I am the Alpha now! Even if I am a Regent one!"
Ben laughs, and it chills my blood. "I am here to change that!"
My eyes go to Rain. She is sitting on the cement floor next to Elton and looks at me with a confused face.
Whatever Ben is planning, I don't like it. I might be his son, but I am nothing like him. Thank fuck!
"What do you want from us?" Rain asks Ben in a cold tone.
Ben looks at Rain, and I want to take his eyes out and throw him in the smallest and coldest cell from the Paranormal Prison.
"I want you to let Jordan take you to the Ritual Stones and become Luna of the Crescent Moon Pack. With you two as the Alpha and the Luna, the pack will become the strongest in Romania! Of course, I will be one who will be leading the pack, but from the shadows."
"Of fucking course you would want that! Because why the fuck wouldn't you want to keep being the Alpha of the pack? But you will never put a foot inside my pack as long as I live! As for taking Rain to the Ritual Stones, forget it! Rain rejected me, and the bond is gone!" I say in an angry tone. Ben laughs. "What the fuck is so funny?" I snap.
"The bond can always be forced with the help of a dark witch! It so happens I know the right witch to do it!" Ben says in a calm tone, and Rain inhales sharply.
"No! I am not forcing a mating ceremony on Rain! She already made her choice when she rejected me!"
"This is why you are weak! You have to show that little bitch you are a real Alpha! But don't worry! I will teach you how to be a real male!" Ben says. "Alvaro, Paul!" he yells, and moments later, the vampire and the feral wolf climb down the stairs.
"Call Rain a bitch one more time, and I will make you eat your tongue!" I promise him, but Ben says nothing. The vampire looks at me with red eyes. "Since when are you friends with the vampires?" I ask.
Ben smirks. "We are not friends, just allies. I need people; they want blood. It is time to teach my son how to be a real Alpha."
The feral wolf and the vampire attack me. I try to call Titan, but the silver collar blocks him. I try to defend myself, but I am too weak to fight back.
Rain tries to help me, but Ben grabs her by her hair and forces her to watch how I am beaten.
"You are cowards!" Rain yells, but no one pays attention to her.
I am unsure how much time passes until they finally stop and leave.
"I will be back tomorrow," I hear Ben say before he closes the door.
Rain comes to me. Tears fall down her face. I lay on my back and look at her. I don't try to move because my entire body hurts like hell. I lift my hand and trace the bruises on her left cheek.
"I will make him pay for hurting you," I say in a weak voice.
Rain looks at her manacles. "I would have burned him until he was nothing more than a pile of ashes, but the silver keeps my fire a prisoner."
I don't understand what she means. "How is the Omega? Elton, right?"
Rain nods before looking over her shoulder. "Still asleep. I am worried about him."
"He will probably wake up later. We should also sleep."
"Jordan—"
"I am fine. I will feel better in the morning, and then I will find a way to escape and take you back to Caleb. Once you are safe, I will kill this fucking monster!" I promise.
Rain leaves, and I close my eyes. Moments later, she returns. I open my eyes only to see her put next to me the pillow.
"Lift your head," Rain says.
"Don't worry about me."
Rain tsks. "Stubborn male," she says before lifting my head and slipping the pillow beneath it. Next, she covers me with the blanket.
After that, she goes over to Elton and snuggles close to him.
I try to move into a more comfortable position, but pain spreads through my body. I give up.
