Chapter 14

Her nanny had gone away for a while. Kara and she stay in the living room. Kara poked her side as she leaned over on the sofa.
"I'm happy for you, and I hope your happiness lasts," Kara said to him.
"I appreciate it."

"Doesn't he have a brother or cousin who is as handsome as him?" Kara asked.

Elijah burst out laughing.

"I asked him if there was, and I'll introduce him to you right away," Elijah smiled.
"You mentioned it."
Kara and I both burst out laughing.

It was late afternoon when her father and Harris arrived. Kara also said her goodbyes and will return the next day. Harris approached her and sniffed the back of her neck.

"Stop it, Daddy's just around the corner," Elijah said.


"I'm going to marry you. And your daddy already knows everything that happened to us so you don't have anything to be ashamed of." Harris replied.

"Stupid!"
Elijah's face warmed. She couldn't bear to see what her dad would think of her after he found out what she and Harris were doing on the ship back then.
"Your blushing, babe. Don't worry I didn't tell your daddy everything. I respect you so much. It's just that I just told him that something happened to us." said Harris.
Reason for Elijah to take a deep breath. She was happy with her life with Harris. A year later she also finished school. And Harris marries her. She has nothing more to ask for in her life. But she was very lucky because the man who would love her came into her life. Her father returned to his former vigor.
She was in the backyard today because she had nothing to do inside the house. She is watering her flower plants. This is what she was preoccupied with when they moved into Harris' house since they were married. He did not allow her to work for his father's company because he said he could feed her.
Sometimes when she was too bored inside the house she thought of visiting her nanny who was also alone in their mansion. Because her father was always away. If not out of town is playing with his friends. Elijah did not know if her father would remarry or not. Because she knew she wouldn't take care of him when she and Harris had a child.
Elijah heard the doorbell ring. So she went first to open the gate. When she opened it was Kara's smiling face that she saw.

"Kara, did you get a visit?" she asked.
"Yes. The wide of your house but it's quiet. When will I see children running around the house?" Kara replied.
Elijah just smiled. After all these years Kara became her friend. So she wonders why she is not planning to get married yet. So she looked at Kara closely.
"What kind of look is that, Elijah? Why do I seem to want to sink where I stand?" Kara asked her.
"When are you getting married?" she asked Kara.
She laughed out loud.
"I don't have a boyfriend. And you ask me that?"
"Why don't you search?" she asked as they walked into the house.
"I've been waiting a long time for someone to come but I'm just tired and he still not coming. Maybe it's time for me to look." Kara replied smiling.
"Yeah. I wonder why until now you're still single," she says.

"The one for me is not born yet, Elijah."
"By the way, I'm here to invite you to Liza's birthday party," said Kara.
"When?"
"Tonight. Will your husband allow you? I know that's nice but when it comes to you he seems too strict." said Kara.
"He will agree as long as I inform him," he replied.
"Okay, you said that. But Liza will be upset if you don't come."
"I'll come. I'll just say goodbye."
Kara said goodbye to go home to them. It seems that they will only meet on Liza's birthday. He wanted to go so it took Harris a while to get home. He calls it but he cannot be contacted. So he decided to leave without saying goodbye. He has already texted it.
He took a taxi after he left the subdivision where they lived. Fortunately, a taxi stopped and he didn't have to wait long. A few minutes later he reached Liza's house. Kara was waiting for him outside the gate.
"I thought you weren't coming, Elijah? They've all been waiting for a while," said Kara to her.

"I'm sorry. I've been late."
"Let's go inside."
Kara and I entered the house at the same time.
"Why so quiet?" he asked.
"The guys are at the back of the house near the pool. Liza isn't having a big party. Her friends are only her visitors. It's just a little party. You know Liza, when she doesn't like it, you can't force her." said Kara.

All of their classmates waved at her as they approached the back of the house. They've been like this for years, but they still are. She was the only one of them who married. The rest of them are still single. Kara and I went up to the group. She even saw Nico smoking in the distance.


"What is his problem?" she asked.
"I'm not sure. He's been like that before," Liza replied.
"I thought we wouldn't invite you like this, Elijah, which is why you married right away; look at Nico, who is broken-hearted." Joseph, who was also a classmate of theirs.



"You have to stop me. It's not since I got married that you won't be able to be with me like this," she replied.
"Did you say goodbye? We think your husband is very jealous. We wondered why you came." said Aya.
Elijah was stunned and lost the smile on her lips. What would she worry about if Harris got mad at her?
"I'm saying goodbye."

"Good," Liza replied.
Kara, on the other hand, was just quietly eating next to her. She could already smell the barbecue chicken that Chloe was fanning. So suddenly she was hungry.
"Why is Chloe grilling there?" she asked.
"Chloe loves to cook. This is what we're going to eat now. She made it. So I saved on the cost. Whoever the man she loves is very lucky."
"Yes," she replied.
"What about that woman who doesn't know how to cook and the man will cook for her?" Kara asked.
Elijah's nostrils swelled as if she was the one Kara talking about. She frowned at Kara and was about to strike her with her right hand.
"Damn you, Kara. Am I the one you're pointing out?" she asked her.
Kara laughs.
"No. You're the only one who's defensive." Kara replied while still smiling.
So everyone laughed.
"Don't bother Elijah, Kara; she's lucky with her husband," Gen advised.
"Yeah."
However, Nico did not approach their table. What could have become of this man? Nico's sharpness gets in her way, she notices. Is he upset with her?
