Chapter 30

"I hope so because I don't want to lose you from my life. You've only been gone for two days to make me lose my mind." Harris said.
Elijah laughed.
"Your so dramatic, sweetheart. That's not gonna happen to us," answered Elijah.
"You just laugh. But that's how I feel," he said.
"I know. That's why I came home because we're not just boyfriend and girlfriend anymore but we're husband and wife so I deserve to hear your explanation." Elijah said.
"Thank you. I really can't fool you because I love you so much." Harris said.
Elijah smiled. She knows that's why some people like to destroy a good relationship. After a few hours of flight, they reached the house. Elijah saw a missing red car parked near their gate. Who could be their guest?

Before Elijah opened the gate, she heard Elijah's voice inside as if she was talking to someone.
"Could you stop? How many times have I told you that I didn't come to this city to look for a man? All I have in mind is to finish school and become a full-fledged doctor. That's my goal in life. With all the hardships I've experienced in life, Andre. Having a boyfriend has no place for me." said Lucy.
Why is Andrew pursuing this? Lucy said those words countless times but he still doesn't want to stop.
"I didn't say make me your boyfriend, Lucy. I just want to be your friend," said Andrew.
"It all started with friendship, but only if it's a girl," said Lucy.
"You're unreasonable. Everything I get close to you means something." Andrew said in a high voice.
"I'm not. I'm just avoiding what might happen to me at university if I let myself get close to you. I'll avoid you as much as possible."
"What do you mean?" Andrew asked.
Then Harris came next to her.
"Why did you stop?" Harris asked.
"Do not be noisy," Elijah replied.
"What do you think, Andrew? It seems that you want to multiply your woman," said Lucy.
"Louella is just my friend. Is it because of that?" Andrew asked.
"Friend? I'm a woman too so I know when a woman likes a man." Lucy said, clearly annoyed.
"Do you want me not to take Louella with me so that I can pick you up?"
"No. Thank you. Go away. Before sir Harris and ma'am, Elijah goes home. They might think I made their house a meeting place."
"Let's talk first, Lucy. It's just a normal conversation that will inevitably happen."

Then Elijah pushed the gate. Lucy and Andrew immediately looked at her. She wanted to pee a while ago. Elijah wanted to laugh because Lucy's reaction was priceless but Andrew was remain nothing.
"I'm sorry. I think I disturbed you." Elijah said.
"It's okay, Miss. We're not talking about anything important," said Lucy.
While Andrew's reaction could not be painted. But there was nothing left to do but leave.
“Yes. Lucy is right. I'm leaving. Good night." Andrew said and went out the gate.

She and Lucy were left standing.
"I didn't know that you went to such a beautiful place, ma'am. When you come back, your appearance has changed, and you have become more beautiful. Where is that place that I can go to so that I can also be given beauty." Lucy said.
“Really? Aren't you good at that? There is a man who is like a dog after you. The loudness of your voices might make our neighbors think that Harris and I are fighting." Elijah said.
Lucy frowned.
"I'm sorry. But he's very hard-headed." Lucy said.
"There is no head that is not hard, Lucy. So just bear with him following you. Let him get tired.” Elijah suggested.
"Do you think that man will stop? I noticed that he doesn't seem to get tired of following. From university to here. I don't know what to do anymore." said Lucy.
When they entered the house together. Harris was leaning against the car as he watched Andrew walk out of the gate with his shoulders slumped.
"Are you okay?" Harris asked.

"The chance that that girl will talk to me sensibly is as dim as the water of the canal, so I stop," answered Andrew.
"Are you going to give up? It seems like it's so fast."
"It's also tiring."
"Perhaps you're just being challenged by her?" Harris speculated.
"Perhaps curiosity, but there is something deeper than that," Andrew said, "but the dream is a difficult opponent because there are many men, but the dream that is started first is difficult to let go of."
Harris simply nodded. He also came into the house after Andrew had left. Camille hasn't been heard from in over a month. Elijah had no idea if she had given birth. Because Elijah's father appears to be fine without her. He just keeps showing up to work every day.

Harris had a board meeting, so Elijah was the first to leave the company. That's when she remembered her father and went to his house. Maybe he came home early because his car, which he used to enter the company, was already outside, or maybe he didn't come to the office because of Camille. When she entered the house, she noticed her father watching television and eating pizza.
"Hello, daddy. Did you go to the office?" she asked.

"No, I have nothing to do there, so I'm just here at home; where is Harris?"

"Had a board meeting," she explained.

"Sit down. Come with me here. It's sad to eat alone," her father joked.

"No, I have nothing to do there, so I'm just here at home; where is Harris?"

"Had a board meeting," she explained.

"Sit down. Come with me here. It's sad to eat alone," her father joked.
Elijah sat down and ordered a pizza because he appeared to be hungry.
"Do you know how much I miss your mommy? This was our house when we were newly married. She's the kindest woman I've ever met. She's the type who is so fragile that all her decisions are dependent on me. It's unfair because the kind one who will be the first to leave the world," her father said.
"That's where we're all going, dad," Elijah replied.

"I understand; what I wanted was for us to grow old together, but you haven't even reached adulthood and he's gone."

"But I'm still grateful because you strive hard to make my life better," Elijah said.

"Of course, because you are my precious daughter."
