Chapter 22

Harris started the car. Then her phone rang and Kara sent a message to which bar they should go to. After some time they reached the bar. Elijah went out first while Harris parked the car outside. The whole bar was loud because of the disco music. Many people are dancing on the dance floor. So he looked around and found Kara and Nico at which table they were at. When he looked he found Kara waving at her so she approached them.
"I thought you were in the bedroom because you were flirting," Kara said with a frown.
"Shut up!" he answered.
Nico just laughed on the side.
"I didn't know that curly hair suits you," Kara said.
Elijah bit her lip. Only now did she think that he was wearing a wig. Good thing Harris didn't notice. Is she so much in rattle that she forgot to remove it?
"What else am I supposed to think about when you've been following us here for so long? For some reason, Harris just looked at you in the car." Kara said.
"Why do you know such things? Have you and Nico ever done it?" she asked.
Kara blushed and looked away. Elijah burst out laughing. Her eyes searched for Harris because he didn't even follow her. She saw him at the bar counter drinking alone so her eyebrows raised when she saw a skinny woman and the clothes she was wearing looked like her boobs were about to come out. As Harris looked at her behavior as she snorted at the woman who approached him.
"It turns out that your husband used to be different, Elijah, Even now he was mistaken for single. Maybe the woman didn't see the ring he was wearing." Nico said laughing.
"Leave him alone, we're here to have fun," answered Elijah.
"Aren't you jealous? That woman flirted with Harris." Kara said.
"No. I'm here to see him. As you can he keeps on drinking without paying attention to a woman." answered Elijah.
"Yeah. That man loves you too much. But you know that beautiful women lose to flirtatious ones." Kara said.
Elijah just nodded. She noticed Harris walking towards their table carrying a bucket of beer and the woman followed him carrying a glass of wine.
"She is my wife, Miss. Is she beautiful?" Harris asked the woman.
Elijah wanted to roll on the floor because of the woman's reaction. The woman stared at her gaping as if she didn't know what to do. She quickly left their presence without saying goodbye. Harris sat down next to him and continued to drink. She also took a beer and opened it and drank. It was late at night but more and more customers were coming in. Before she wanted to dance but now that she saw the style of the people who danced, she didn't want to mix anymore, it was so awkward.
"I thought you were going to dance?" Kara asked her.
"No, I don't think I want to anymore. Look at the people dancing in the row. They don't know each other."
He saw a woman and a man who did not know each other suddenly kiss.
Kara whispered to her.
"Do you see what I see?"
"Where?" he asked.
"The woman serving drinks at the corner. I can't be wrong. That's Camille, right? She worked here when she had a big belly?" Kara asked.
And Elijah followed Kara's gaze. And that's right, it's Camille who serves drinks to customers. Elijah frowned. With so many establishments to work for, why did she choose to work here when she was pregnant? Elijah smiled unintentionally. She was wondering who the child's father is. Because even though she suffered a lot because of the pregnancy, she keep the baby even more.
Even though it is difficult in life because it is not used to a difficult life, it can handle everything for its unborn child. Even now he felt pity for Camille. Only now did he think that what he did was wrong for her, the hurtful words he said for her. This place is ugly for Camille who is pregnant, there are drunken rascals who might even trip her. He stood up and approached her. He wants to talk to her now. Even though he seemed to be spinning around because of the amount of beer he drank. It was already gone when he approached. So he approached the bar counter.
"Can I talk to Camille?"
"Yes, Ma'am. I'll call him first." answered the bartender.
"All right. Give me a martini first."
"Yes."
After giving it to her, the man left, and when he came back, Camille was already behind him. Her face was blank as if she didn't know her.
"What do you need from me? I've been silent here why are you still following me? Aren't you happy that I left your father because you don't want me for him?" Camille said at length.
"Sit down, Camille. It seems like I'm the one struggling with your situation," she says.
Camille was given a man's chair to sit on.
"I didn't follow you, we happened to be here and I saw you. Nico was over there." Elijah said.
"What do you need from me?" Camille asked in a formal voice.
"Do you know my father hates me because you left him? I never imagined that he could reject me because of a woman. I thought what was the personality you have with you that made him cry all over you? I thought that he loves my mom compared to his love for you. Because they say when you love someone, even if they disappear from the world, you won't trade them for any other woman." she says.
Camille looked away.
"So what do you want to convey? Are you just here to tell me all that?" Camille asked.
"Daddy is in the hospital because he had a heart attack when you left him. You know we won't be okay if I can't find you. You know he cried because he loves you so much. He says he's looking for you everywhere." Elijah said.
"How is he?" Camille asked, with concern in her voice. Its once blank face is filled with fear and apprehension.
"He's okay because his heart attack was prevented but he's not happy. That's why I'm begging you to go back home. I won't interfere with you anymore and then I hope you'll forgive me for all the ugly words I said to you." Elijah said.
Camilla clutched her bulging stomach.
"Do you know that your father does not know that he is the father of this unborn baby?"
Elijah's eyes widened.
"Oh my? I'm so sorry. How did that happen?" she asked.
"One-night stand. I think. Your daddy got drunk and I also got drunk at a business party that my father attended and took me with him. I woke up first the next day so he didn't catch me. Out of shame and to avoid what other people would say that's when I used Nico's name. If I have a chance I want to apologize to Nico. Because when it happened my parents didn't want to embarrass our family so they forced me to marry a man I didn't love so I ran away and go to your father's house. When he opened the door, I immediately kissed him and the rest is history." Camille told a story, smiling.
"You know I'm not perfect but I'm kind. I can't hurt your father as you think. I was able to let my parents abandon me just to keep our son. Because you know parents always understand that and are always there. they but the son only came once. That's why I lost my inheritance and family because of what happened to me. I can't kill this innocent child just to save my family's credibility." said Camille.
Elijah felt guilty and ashamed. She judged Camille too much without knowing herself. She held her by the hand.
"I'm sorry."

"I understand you. Even I will do the same so there is no problem. Tomorrow I will also go to the hospital and visit your father." said Camille.
"Thank you."
"You know I'm not perfect but I'm kind. I can't hurt your father as you think. I was able to let my parents abandon me just to keep our baby. Because you know parents always understand that and are always there. they but the chance of having a child only came once. That's why I lost my inheritance and family because of what happened to me. I can't kill this innocent child just to save my family's credibility." said Camille.
Elijah felt guilty and ashamed. She judged Camille too much without knowing herself. He held it by the hand.
"I'm sorry."

"I understand you. Even I will do the same so there is no problem. Tomorrow I will also go to the hospital and visit your father." said Camille.
"Thank you. We can wait for you later so we can take you to the hospital," she says.
"Is it okay? Isn't it embarrassing?"
"No problem. Besides, you're pregnant, you shouldn't be working with your belly that big."
"All right."
"I'll leave you now," Elijah said.
Then return to their table.
"Have you apologized to Camille yet?" Harris asked.
"Yes. And she said daddy is the father of her unborn child." Elijah said.
"Really? Congratulations you have a little sister or brother." Kara interrupted.
"Sort of. We'll wait for her and take her to the hospital."
"Huh? Maybe we'll go first. You know I wasn't pregnant when we went to see them before." Kara said worriedly.
"She didn't mind for sure. Because she loves Dad." Elijah said.
A few minutes later, Camille was walking slowly toward their table and smiling at them.
"Are you pregnant? Get checked up because you're pale." Camille said to Kara.
"Huh?" Nico said.
Camille just smiled and went out of the bar first. They also followed after.
Camille was leaning against the car after they got out. He let her get into the car and he was in the front seat next to Harris. Then Nico and Kara said goodbye to go first.
And then Harris drove the car away from the bar.
"Why did you tell Kara that she was pregnant?" she asked.
"I was an ob gyne doctor. But my dad took away my license when I got pregnant. That's why. I work there at the bar." said Camille.
"I see."
"You know the kind of parents who will think about what other people say rather than their daughter's condition. It's too unfair, right? The child is a blessing, so why are they denying their future grandchild?"
"You can't blame parents like that. Even if they don't like you, we will be your new family from now on." Elijah said passionately.
"Thank you."
An hour later they reached the hospital. Harris went out first and opened the door for her and Camille.
"Just you go inside, Camille. We're going home because I want to sleep." Elijah said.
"Alright. Thanks for sending me here."
She nodded and got back into the car.
Elijah leaned back as the car sped along the highway. And she noticed that even though she had been drunk a little, she knew that the car was not going the way home.
"Sweetheart, why are we taking this other road?" she asked.
"We're going somewhere. We have a date," Harris replied.
"Date? Are you kidding me? What time is it? I want to sleep." she complained.
"You can sleep when you get there." said her husband.
"Really?"
"Yes. I want to take you to a place where it's just the two of us. You know these past few days I've been very busy at work and I haven't even had time for you. That's why I'm recovering." it said.
"I'm not complaining. I understand," answered Elijah.
"Whatever. I know you'll like where we're going." Harris said.
"What about Lucy?" she asked.
"I just texted her early that she go to the hospital because we can't go home now," replied Harris.
Harris wondered why Elijah wasn't talking anymore because she was sleeping while leaning on the car seat. He wanted to take her to a place where she had not known the land he had bought before. The whole place was quiet and they were the only ones there. His caretaker lives in the neighboring town. Who watches over his coconut and rice paddy and sells it in the town? He pays a lot for him enough salary so it's okay. It was early in the morning when they reached the said place. The whole area is safe, so it's okay to travel at night. He owns the whole place so no one can enter because it is his private property. He drove the car into the gate. And put it to the side. He hadn't seen this place in years. The house he built in the middle of the field, far from civilization, is still new. He always contacts Maico to clean and paint it like new when he can bring Elijah here.

Harris didn't wake Elijah up, but he carry her up after opening the front door. He went straight to the next room and laid Elijah on the bed. He wants to unwind so that they can have Elijah's child here. Harris first went into the bathroom to take a shower because he was already sweaty. A few minutes later he came out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist. His eyes widened when he saw that Elijah was already naked with her legs spread wide open as she slept. Harris gulped. His wife is drunk but now she looks like she's invited him for great lovemaking. Does she know what she's doing? So it's up to her to be angry with him the next day but he doesn't want to see her naked anymore so he approaches her and kisses her. He removed his towel and laid it on Elijah. And he noticed that she responded to his kisses. Is she awake? Or did she hallucinate as a result of drunkenness? He claimed her several times until he got tired and fell asleep. Being inside his wife's body is something wonderful so even how many times they had intercourse he didn't feel bored at all.
The next morning,
Elijah wondered why she woke up naked and to add to the pain of her whole body. She got up and saw Harris' naked body hugging her. So they made love without her knowing? Was her husband satisfied that she was drunk? It's embarrassing to ask. So she got out of bed even though her legs hurt. She entered the bathroom and took a shower. She didn't know where they were now. When she came out a few minutes later, she had taken a shower. Her whole body was covered with a towel. And she doesn't know where she can find clothes to wear. She saw an open closet so she opened it. And she frowned when she saw that there were many women's clothes on the hanger. Whose house is this?
And she didn't hear anyone making noise around if they were just sleeping with Harris' acquaintance.
