Chapter 21

Mrs. Acosta's remark embarrassed Elijah, so she bowed. Was she simply overreacting when she discovered that her father had another woman in his life? Is she being too selfish by not wanting her father to be happy with others? She is unaccustomed to the presence of another woman in his life. The only thing she desired was to keep him safe from the potential pain caused by what that woman could do.




"Give your father the happiness he wants. He should be told he is too old for you in the middle of his love life. You know that people of that age love differently. So you are more careful about their feelings," said Mrs. Acosta.

Elijah just nodded. Elijah leaned back in his chair after Mrs. Acosta and returned to his seat. It was late afternoon when Elijah heard a sound on his phone. So he quickly answered it because his nanny Mathilde called.

"Hello, nanny Mathilde. Why?" she asked.
"We're in the hospital today because your daddy had a heart attack this morning." said her nanny.
"What?"
Elijah stood up and suddenly got out and ran out of the building. He didn't know what he was going to do. His tears flowed spontaneously and he sweated a lot. Why is his daddy attacked again now? Is it angry and stressed? He didn't know what Mrs.'s reaction was. Acosta because she left without saying goodbye.
Fortunately, when she came out, a taxi stopped in front of her. After leaving the taxi she was riding in, she called Harris.
"Hello. Sweetheart. Where are you?" she asked, snipping.
"Hey, what's wrong? Are you crying?" Harris asked on the other line.
"Daddy is in the hospital. He had another heart attack this morning. Nanny Mathilde called me." she answered while sobbing.
She didn't care what the driver thought of her crying.
"What? Wait for me at home and I'll pick you up." Harris said frantically on the other line.
"No need. Just follow me because I'm already in the car to the hospital. They said he's still there where they took him before."
"Okay."

As many negative thoughts entered her mind, Elijah leaned back. She is concerned about his father's health. He hoped he hadn't been hurt by his attack. Elijah arrived at the hospital a few hours later. She dashed inside after paying. Thank goodness her Nanny Mathilde had already texted her father's room number. She immediately opened the door and saw her father lying with her eyes open but sadly looking at the ceiling. He didn't even look at her to see who had entered. She and her nanny exchanged glances. She approached her and hugged her.



"How's Daddy?" she asked.
"He's okay because we caught him and took him to the hospital right away."

Elijah took a deep breath and all her nervousness vanished. The door then reopened, allowing Harris to enter and approach his father. Her father smiled as he looked at Harris. Didn't he notice her? Did she make a mistake? Harris sat so close to her father that she had the opportunity to reach out and shake his hand, but her father did not respond. He returned his gaze to the ceiling.


"Why are you here?" her father asked, causing her to frown.

He wanted to ask where that girl was but he stopped himself.
"Do we both have a problem, Daddy? I don't like your approach to me?" she asked.
"I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for what you did." her father answered and looked at her blankly.
Elijah is confused as if she is the reason why her father is here in the hospital today.
"Straighten me up. That's not what you're saying something I can't understand, Daddy. I feel like you're blaming me for the attack." she said and started getting annoyed.
Her pity for her father suddenly disappeared. She didn't want to think about what she did to make this happen.
"You are."
Suddenly her father cried. Elijah was quiet but her heart suddenly hurt because she saw her father crying.
"Camille left me because of what you did to her. I just want to die no matter what I look for her, I can't find her. Why are you so selfish?" his father asked, causing Elijah to shed tears.
Is she wrong if she only thinks about his situation? Elijah sat on the floor as she tried to force it into her mind that she still did the right thing. But her father's situation was like this. Elijah cried while Harris held her back.
"I thought that out of all the people I know, you are the one who understands me the most. Is this my severe punishment for not being a good father to you?" asked her father.
"No!" Elijah could only say.
Only now did she realize that her daddy loved Camille too much.
"We'll be okay if you can bring Camille back into my life. But for now, leave." said her father and lay back down.

Harris embraced her because she was crying. She had no idea where or how to find Camille at this point. Elijah immediately came out, and she was free of Harris' embrace. She does not want to see and witness her father's hatred for her. He did not reject her before she ran away, and when she returned home after a month, her father accepted her wholeheartedly, but now, because of a woman, he will end their relationship as father and daughter. This is excessive. She immediately summoned a taxi to transport her somewhere. Harris is concerned, so he quickly kisses his father goodbye and departs to look for Elijah in case he has an accident and where to go because she is still crying.

He couldn't see her when he came out. He got into his car and attempted to call her, but he was unable to reach her.



Where did that woman go? Elijah delivered to Kara's house. He wanted to talk to someone now besides Harris. He got off right after he paid. He pushed the gate and went inside. Kara's house was quiet, she didn't know where he went because she didn't even call him. When he opened the front door, Nico's face was revealed to him.
"What's wrong, Elijah? Why are you crying?" Nico asked in a concerned voice.
She came to Nico and hugged him.
"Daddy got mad at me because the girl he loved left him because of me. I don't like that girl. So he blames me for having a heart attack and being hospitalized." she answered.
"Does your daddy have a girlfriend?" Nico asked.
"Yes. That girl you got pregnant. And plan to corner you in a marriage." she answered.
"Really? How did that happen? That woman is pregnant. Is your daddy the father of the child?" Nico asked.
"I don't know, Nico. I was shocked why she became daddy's girlfriend. I don't know the whole story. And daddy and I won't be okay if I don't find that woman." she replied.
"It's too obvious that your daddy is in love with that woman. You'd think he rejected you because that girl left him." he heard Kara say.
That's why she immediately loosens her hug at Nico. Kara might be angry with her because she hugged her boyfriend. She sat on the sofa facing Kara and Nico. Kara's face is happy because maybe she and Nico are in a relationship now. What they wanted to happen has happened with no problems being faced at the moment. There is no perfect relationship, all need is courage.

"It's too obvious. I spoke badly of Camille, so maybe she was embarrassed and left Daddy. It's love that can reject a child." she says.
"What do you want to do today? Do you want us to take you to the bar as thank you treat?" Nico asked.
She doesn't like to drink, but with the pain, she feels now, she seems to want to swallow a lot of alcohol.
"I want to go to a bar, drink, and dance," she says.
Kara raised an eyebrow.
"Really? Are you single?" she asked.
Her lips are twitching. Only now did she think of his husband. She suddenly walked out of the hospital without even being told. Elijah wanted to laugh at the thought. For sure Harris is looking for her now. Nico went out first while she waited for Kara to get dressed. She stood up when he saw that Kara was carrying a sling bag.
"Maybe Harris is mad at you?"
"That's nothing."
When they came out of the gate, he saw Harris talking to Nico. He is wearing different clothes, maybe he went home first.
"Nico told me that you were going to a bar. It's only right that I brought you new clothes. You sweated too much." Harris said.
Elijah smiled because Harris was concerned for her. So she couldn't stop herself so she kissed him torridly on the lips. She no longer cares what Nico and Kara think of what she did.
"Let's go," she said immediately and got into the car first.
Harris also entered afterward.
"Aren't you going to get dressed? I brought you underwear. Maybe..."
"Shut up!" she says.
Her face turned bright red. Harris presented her with a paper bag. So she took it and stripped naked, including her pants. She doesn't mind if Harris sees her naked body; after all, he is her husband. The car is then tinted. It is unable to see the person inside. Harris swallowed as he gazed at his naked wife in the backseat of the car. Even though they had been together for a long time, he still felt strange if he saw her naked. He simply looked out the window because he wanted to kiss and make love to her in the car.
"Are you okay, sweetheart? Is there a problem?" asked Elijah.
But she suddenly smiled because of what he thought was his wife's problem. Maybe he couldn't look directly at her because she was naked.
"Is my body good? I feel like I just want to stay here in the car with you."
"Hurry up and get dressed because they're already there," Harris said.
"Why can't you look at me directly? We can make love here if you want to," she said, in a flirty voice.
"Damn you, Elijah! I've been holding my breath here for a while now so get dressed before I drag you there," he said.
So Elijah just laughed because of what Harris said. After she got dressed, Harris looked directly at her.
