Chapter 33

"Where did you leave your things?" Harris asked.
"Far away. I'll pick it up tomorrow. By the way, I'm the one asking for forgiveness for my cousin's mess." Luke apologized.
"That's gone. Let's move on. Some things can't be avoided and stopped from happening. The world is so wide that she knows if she can find a man who will truly love her." replied Harris.
"Yes."
"You can stay at home. As for us going with you to the company, you haven't rented so you can save money. There are many rooms in the house, just pick where you want. What do you think, sweetheart?" Harris asked.
"Yeah. Much better."
After some time they reached the house. Elijah came out first. And he motioned for Luke to come down.
Luke felt embarrassed. All of his courage suddenly disappeared when he couldn't find a place to live because the rent was so expensive. He had so little money that it wouldn't fit a month's rent. Fortunately, he was immediately accepted into the company. He just looks good but not his life. And his bosses even saw him in his worse state walking in the middle of heavy rain. He was hungry and thirsty. The salary is still long and he is sure that he cannot make a cash advance. It's not true that he hasn't found it yet. He saw a lot but the only thing missing was money.

If he pays the rent he's sure he won't have food to buy. Even if it's embarrassing, he'll just swallow his pride. Luke was amazed at the size of his boss's house. The outside is so beautiful, the inside is even more beautiful. When they went inside, they found two beautiful women eating in the living room.
"Good evening, ma'am. I'm Desiree. I'm Lucy's new friend." introduced the curly blonde staring at him.
"Feel at home, Babe. Nice meeting you," answered Elijah.
"Thank you." answered the woman.
"Please take Luke to his room, Lucy. There are new spare clothes and underwear in the guest room. He can use them now. Feel at home, Luke." Elijah said.
"Thank you, Ma'am."
Luke was very blessed at this moment. That despite his misfortune, he is still very lucky. He has a house to live in.
"Let's go. Get dressed first and then eat. Desiree and she cooked some soup that she knows hasn't gotten cold yet. Get rid of your cold."
Luke nodded.
"Is it still raining outside?" Desiree asked.
"Yes. It's so strong that it doesn't seem to stop." Luke replied.
"What about me, Lucy? I'm sure I won't be able to go home because of the rain." Desiree said.
"You sleep here. In my room the bed is big." Lucy answered.
"Thank you."
"You stay here for now because I'm going to accompany Luke to the guest room," said Lucy.




"No. I'll go with you. I also want to take a peek at what your guest room looks like here." Desiree said and walked with them.
Luke noticed that Lucy's eyes rolled.
"As if. You thought you weren't rich. Your house is bigger than this."
The three of them walked together to the guest room. Luke turned to the side. The size of their house. They are very blessed in life because they are both kinds. They stopped at a green door.
"The guest room is here, Luke. Come in before you get sick. And then I'll make you some food in the kitchen." said Lucy.
"Thank you."
Elijah and Harris are already inside the room. They are not hungry yet. Maybe they will go to the kitchen later. The two of them ate again in the office earlier. Elijah was folding Lucy's freshly washed clothes piled on the tray.
"Are you feeling okay, sweetheart?" Harris asked.
"It's okay."
"Good. Aren't you hungry yet?" Harris asked.
"Not yet. I'll close it first. So I can put it in the closet." answered Elijah.
"I'll be the one to fold that. You can rest here." Harris said.
"I don't think it's too much. How's Camille doing? Are they back home?" asked Elijah.
"We will visit them tomorrow. For now, let's sleep first and we'll also go to the doctor. Maybe tomorrow we won't go into the office." Harris said.
"Yes."
Lucy returned to the kitchen to prepare food for Luke. He is still with Desiree who is like her tail following him.
"Get some rest, Desiree. I'm here. I'll follow later." said Lucy.
"Later, the two of us can rest together in your room," answered Desiree.
"Where is your house?" asked Lucy.
Desiree laughed.
"Somewhere," Desiree answered.
"Are you sure you're a student at that university? I just saw you," said Lucy.
"The university is big and there are many students so you can't meet all the students there."


“Why are you talking to me at the canteen? You don’t have friends because you’re a snob?” Lucy asked.
“Not at all. That’s why most girls in universities are spoiled. Make-up is their life and university is their fashion hall.” Desiree answered.
“What about a boyfriend?” Lucy asked.
Desiree just laughed. As she looked into the distance, she seemed to think of something good.
“Not yet now. I’m too picky when it comes to the man I like or should I say my standard is high.” It said.
“What standard is that? Handsome and rich?” Lucy asked as she placed the pitcher on the table with only cold water.
“No matter what I do as long as my heart beats for that man,” Desiree answered.
“Really? But many men are courting you at the university?”
“I don’t know. Because I don’t count men if some like me. Not just like other women in our school. May teenagers act too much instead of a woman. So annoying.” Desiree answered.
“What is your course?”
“Architect. It’s in the third year.”
“Wow.”
Then Luke entered the kitchen.
“Why did it take you so long?” Desiree immediately asked as if she were an annoyed girlfriend who had been waiting for a long time. She widened her eyes at her but she didn’t even pay attention to her. While Luke, on the other hand, seemed to be silent.
“Sit down, Luke. Did you eat already. Don’t pay attention to Desiree because she just lacks sleep.” Lucy said.
Luke sat down and started eating. So she brought Desiree towards her room.
“Why are you pulling?” Desiree asked him annoyed.
“You are too obvious.”
“What are you talking about? My hand hurts.” Desiree complained.
“Do you like, Luke?” asked Lucy.
“Yes. Because I bet the shape of his face just makes it seem like she didn’t like me.” Desiree answered with a frown.

Lucy just shook her head. She looked for something Desiree could wear in her closet, it’s a good thing Ma’am Elijah bought her a lot of clothes. A minute later, Desiree finished dressing and they both fell asleep.

Luke cleaned up after himself. Also, turn off the kitchen lights and leave. He hadn’t even reached his room when he was approached by Miss Elijah.
“Have you completed your meal, Luke? How did it go, are you full?” she asked.
“Yes, ma’am, thank you.”
Miss Elijah burst out laughing.
“You don’t need to thank us again since we are pleased to help, so just be kind. If you can’t sleep, go to the bar room. There are drinks there. It’s just there next to the guest room,” she stated.
“All right, you can’t sleep?” Luke asked.
“No, you know how much a woman wants to eat when they are pregnant. Go ahead, sleep.”
Miss Elijah walked into the kitchen.
Elijah went downstairs because she was suddenly hungry while Harris was sleeping peacefully. As she sat on the stool facing the food, she called Kara. He missed this woman. She wants to know the progress of her relationship with Nico. She answered her call.
It’s late, Elijah. Why did you call? Do you have a problem?” Kara asked.
“Nothing. I’m sorry for bothering you.” Answered Elijah.
“Not really. I haven’t slept yet, I waited for Nico.” Kara said.
“Where is Nico?”
“Working overtime at the firm.”
“How are Liza and the rest of the guys?” she asked.
“They’re okay but we didn’t say hello anymore, they’re busy with their lives.”
“It’s good. Sometimes we bond again. It’s fun.” Elijah said.
“Yes. How’s Camille? Has she given birth yet?”
“Yes. One day.”
“She’s right. I’m pregnant. It’s been 5 months.” Kara said knowing that Elijah was smiling now.
“Congratulations. Me too.”
“I know.”
“You know?”
“Of course. Harris was too happy to announce to us that he was going to be a daddy.”

“Really?”
“Yes.”
“When?” asked Elijah.
“Yesterday. He called and he was in the office. I can feel his happiness. So just take care of yourself and eat healthy foods and vegetables.” Kara said.
“Yeah. Thank you.”
“Okay. Let’s sleep. I’ll visit you when I have time.”
“Bye.”
After hanging up the phone, Elijah also finished eating so she put it aside and left the kitchen. It was a cold night and she didn’t know what time it was. When she entered the room, she saw Harris sitting on the bed.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
“Where have you been?” he asked.
“In the kitchen. I ate because I felt hungry.” Answered Elijah.
“Okay. Come here. Let’s sleep.”
Elijah came closer and lay down with her eyes closed.

The next day Elijah woke up early. She didn’t know why she felt so light. Harris was no longer around. The door opened and Lucy entered.
“Good morning. Sir Harris entered the office early because some investors suddenly arrived.” Said Lucy.
“It’s okay. You don’t have school?” she asked.
“There is. More later.” Lucy answered.
“What about your friend Desiree?”
“She’s still sleeping in the room. He doesn’t seem to have any plans to leave.”
“Luke? Has Harris come along yet?”
“No. Luke is still cooking.” Lucy answered.
“He’s cooking? Wow. Amazing. I’m going to get fat because I have a chef with me. Let’s go. Let’s go downstairs.”
Lucy just laughed. When they got off, Andrew entered the front door. Luke and Desiree also came out. They were all in the living room.
“What are you doing here, Desiree?” Andrew asked.
Lucy just frowned.
“I’m going to ask you that. Why are you here?” Desiree asked.
“You know each other?” Elijah interrupted.
“Were cousins, ma’am.”
Lucy’s eyes widened.
“Are you two cousins?”
“You don’t need to repeat that question, Lucy. You’re probably not deaf.” Andrew replied annoyed.
Elijah knew he was jealous because Luke was too attached to Lucy.
“You know your brother is looking for you with me.” Said, Andrew.
“Shut up, Andrew. Miss Elijah is here,” said Desiree smiling at her but annoyed for Andrew.
“She understands that you don’t know how to say goodbye.” Answered Andrew.
Desiree smiles.
“Did you come here just for a bad trip? You’re getting better if you don’t want Louella to know what you’re doing right now.” Desiree said.
Lucy was surprised upon knowing that these two were cousins. She could feel the evil look Andrew was giving her as Luke was clinging to her. They were talking but her ears were listening. So Desiree knows that Andrew and Louella had a relationship more than a friend. So her stance is really strong because all men are stupid. Maam Elijah looked at her but she just laughed.
Andrew pulled Desiree to the corner where Lucy couldn't hear them.
"Don't involve that bitch in this conversation, Desiree. I like to get closer to Lucy but you added some wrong information," he said.
"Ow, I don't know. Explain why you follow her like a mad dog but she keeps on ignoring you?" Desiree said.
"Don't ask too many questions. You never understand." Andrew said.

“I’ll understand if you tell me what. You’re not going to rush in here like you’re going to strangle someone.” Desiree said.
“We’re all going to eat, Guys.” Ma’am Elijah said.
So they all followed.
Andrew didn’t know whether to follow or not because he was not in the mood for a while.
He doesn’t want to see Lucy close to another man. He wondered why there was another man in this house. From now on you know this man will give her stress.
Elijah felt something trouble. Andrew has a bad look at Luke who still hasn’t stopped talking and doesn’t know how he feels. It’s like she gave birth not on time with his stares.
“Stop talking. And all of you eat. Before you’re late for school.” Said Elijah to remove the tension.
“Eat now, Andrew. It’s not like you just came here to sit there and look bad. Do you lack care? If you have a problem, don’t blame us. It’s nice that we’re waking up so nice. Then you’re just ruining it.” Desiree said.
“Shut up! You’re making noise.”
“You’re not coming into the office, Luke?” asked Elijah.
“They said I’ll watch over you and accompany you wherever you want to go. And Lucy and I talked earlier that we were going somewhere.” Luke replied.
Desiree smiled mischievously.
“Where are you going?” interrupted Andrew.
“Are you coming?” asked Lucy.
“No.”
“You know don’t fall too much in love because that makes people ugly. The way you look now is the proof.” Luke said.

"Don’t talk like that, like you know me. You are too arrogant.” Andrew said.
Andrew bid goodbye to her and left right away. After they ate they all got in the car. And they took Desiree and Lucy to university. Elijah is going to visit her father’s house first. She wanted to say hello to them.
“Do you know how to drive a car, Luke?” she asked.
“Yes ma’am.”
“Do you know the way to the company?”
“Not much yet,” Luke replied.
“Alright. Just memorize it. Take me to my father’s house and go to the company.” she says.

After Luke left, Elijah entered the house. When she opened the front door, she saw Camille sitting on the couch who had fallen asleep while the baby was sleeping in the crib. She approached the baby and look her pretty features. Elijah smiled because her daddy's little angel was cute. The baby is white and has a smooth complexion. It's so beautiful that it looks like her. Elijah's tears suddenly flowed. She seemed to see herself here as a child. After all these years, at her age, it was only now that she felt the longing of having a sibling to play with and go to school. And she knows that she will be able to play with her little angel who is still inside her womb. She wiped her tears as a soft hand held her arm. Camille looked at her.
"Why are you so emotional, Elijah?" she asked.'
"I couldn't hold back my tears when I saw daddy's baby's daughter. What's her name?" asked Elijah.
Camille smiled.
"She is Princess Elijah. Your father named her after you because when she sees the baby she remembers you when you were still a baby." Camille said smiling.
This woman is kind, she never once saw her have body insecurities.
"Thank you for giving me a sister and giving my father a lucky charm and a reason for him to live longer," Elijah said passionately.
"Welcome. I'm just thankful that you accept me." Camille said and they both hugged each other crying.
