Chapter 34

"What's going on here?" asked his father.
"Nothing. I'm just too happy, daddy." Elijah answered laughing.
"Really? Why are you pale?"

"I'm pregnant."

"Wow. Really? Congratulations." Camille shouted.

"Don't jump, Love. You're three weeks after giving birth. Does Harris know this yet?" asked his father.

"Yes, daddy. He was the first to know."

While Lucy is here inside her classroom. Leaning back in her chair. They just finished their last subject. She was almost late earlier because Desiree is a chatterbox. She couldn't get out of her mind what Andrew had done earlier in their house. She is the one who is ashamed of Ma'am Elijah because he argued with Luke. It's like a boyfriend who gets jealous and throws tantrums. She just proved now that she shouldn't be paying attention to him because if this man becomes her boyfriend she will surely die early. After all, they will always fight. The noise of her classmates seemed like she couldn't relate to what they were talking about so she kept quiet. The other girls talked to each other. And they are not friendly. They talk about subjects but not about other things. Turning to the door, she saw Andrew's smiling face. She is frowning. She saw that her female classmates seemed uneasy. It's like mushrooms that can't spawn. Lucy looked away. Their styles are just like they are in high schools, like when they see their crush they are jumping like an idiot so disgusting. That kind of attitude is still in fashion in college days. Lucy rolled her eyes. She felt discouraged because of his attitude earlier. Her phone rang. She got a text message from an unknown number. She read it softly.

"I'm not leaving here if you don't get out of there."



"Huh? Are you asking me something, Lucy?" Glaiza asked.

"Nothing."

"Okay."

Andrew said he will wait for her on the ground floor. She replied yes so he left in front of the door. He walked away with a smile that make her annoyed.

With his consent, that man had hope.
Lucy came out before Andrew's messages hit her. She didn't know why she didn't protest now. She is tired of arguing. She was not herself to be attacked by his mood right now. He texted that he would wait at the quadrangle behind the university. Under the mango tree. No students are hanging around. It's their recess time so it's okay. There is food prepared on a white cloth. Andrew smiled at her but she didn't smile back. She sat next to him.
"Get some water. I'm thirsty," said Lucy.
Andrew gave it to him so he drank it.
"What do you need from me? Do you have something to say to me?" Lucy asked in a low tone.
"Just like before. I just want to eat with you. Are you okay? Why are you lethargic?" he asked.
"I think I have a fever now. My stomach suddenly hurts." Lucy answered.

"Shall I buy you medicine?"
"No more. I have medicine in the bag, please take it."
Andrew took it and gave it to her and then she drank it.
"Thank you."
And they both ate together. She fell asleep on Andrew's shoulder without realizing it. She didn't care what Andrew would say, why she leaned on it. She was not feeling well maybe a fever and cold hit her this time.
Harris called Elijah when he saw Luke come to his office.
"Hello, sweetheart. How are you? I meant to leave Luke so you could be with him." Harris said.
"I'm fine. I was at daddy's house. I went since no one was home. Their baby girl is cute and looks like me." answered Elijah who was very happy.
"Really? Alright. I'll check later. Take care."
"Bye."

Harris is very worried about Elijah especially now that he found out that she is pregnant. If only it were possible, he would be with her every day and as far as he could see so that he could always monitor her. But he can't say no to the office when calling because sudden investors are coming. He knows that Elijah will be careful about the safety of their baby. He leaned back in his swivel chair.
"You can go, sir. I'm disgusted to see you look like you're uncomfortable there." Andre said.
"Damn you! You don't know how it feels to be a father." Harris shouted.

"I know because I got a woman pregnant when I was drunk!" Andre also shouted.

Harris gaped as he looked at Andre.

"What? Repeat what you said?"

"How did that happen?" Harris asked.
"I don't know. I just found out when I woke up that there was a woman next to my bed in the condo that we were both naked. I was hiding because she was going back to the house and claiming that she was pregnant and that I was the father. I didn't deny it, it's just that the speed is too fast. I couldn't stop the blessings from coming when I wasn't ready." Andre said.
"Who is the woman?"
"I don't know the name," answered Andre.
Harris shook his head.
"What are your plans today?"
"Of course. I'll hold her accountable. I'm not a coward and afraid of responsibility." answered Andre.
"It should be. Because you don't have to use the excuse that you're drunk and you don't know to run away from your responsibility." Harris said.
Liza's call made Elijah stop dancing with Princess. So he gave it to his father and he answered the call.
"Hello, Liza. What's wrong?" he asked.
"I'll say it later. Bye." Liza answered and cut the line.
What is the problem with that woman?
She went out for a while to wait for Harris but was not out of the office yet. A car stopped in front of her. The window opened and Liza looked out wearing shades.
"So?"
"Get in," Liza said.
"Wait."
Elijah went back inside and said goodbye to her father. When she got out, she immediately entered the car next to Liza in the front seat.

"Where are we going? I want to know what's wrong with you?" asked Elijah.
The car stopped. And Liza removed her shades and looked at her. Her eyes were swollen, obviously crying last night.
"I'm pregnant, Elijah," she answered and leaned on the car seat.
"What? How is that possible? You don't have a boyfriend, do you?" asked Elijah.
"Yeah. Nothing but I had a one-night stand with a stranger. We were both drunk." answered Liza.
"Why are you getting drunk? You're in trouble."
"My mom and I fought so I got drunk at a bar and woke up the next day in a guy's condo and we were the same so something happened. And I got pregnant which I was so afraid of. My parents will kick me out when they find out I'm pregnant and no man to represent this pregnancy thing," answered Liza who was troubled.
"What's the man's name?"
"I don't know but I know where to find him."
Liza starts the car and Elijah wonders why they stopped at Harris's company.
"That man works here," she said as she got out of the car.
"Really? You know this is Harris's company." Elijah said.
"Really? This is where I saw that man come in when I followed him."
"Come on. Let's go to Harris first and let's find out who the man you're talking about is."
Liza nodded.
She didn't knock and opened the door immediately.
"He's the man I'm talking about, Elijah." Liza pointed at Andre who was shocked.
"What are you doing here, Liza?" Harris asked.
"That man made me pregnant," answered Liza.
Harris was also confused by what he found out. The world is small for both of them.
"Is what she says true, Andre?" asked Elijah.
"Answer me? Don't make me look like a fool in front of my two friends. I'm not going to be a woman who just settles down with many men. I'm very..."
"Shut up! You're talking too much. I didn't say I ran away from you. I'm just here working. I'm not like other men. So you can calm down and don't cry." answered Andre.
"I couldn't help but cry because my parents would kill me if they found out," Liza said.
"You think I'll let it happen? Let's go. Let's talk at the condo."


Andre said goodbye to them. Harris just shook his head as he watched them leave the office.
"That's why he's been quiet for a while because there's a problem," Harris said.
"Even Liza. I didn't think that they would end up being together. Fate is really good when it comes to planning. He always asks for a woman that he can be his girlfriend, maybe cupid got angry and gave him two blessings." replied Harris.
"Life is like that, things happen that you can't stop from happening. Liza is kind."
"Yes."
Lucy woke up because her neck was hurting. So she got up and her eyes widened because they were still behind the university. She was about to stand up when Andrew pulled her.
"Don't stand up yet. How are you feeling?" it asked.
"I'm fine. I'm sorry. I'm still leaning on you. Are you okay?" asked Lucy.
"It's not just me. Has your headache gone?"
"Yes."
Andrew was the first to say goodbye to her because he said he still had school in the afternoon. So Lucy slowly walked out of school. She hadn't gone out yet when she saw Louella with someone at the canteen but she didn't even bother to see who it was. She just heard Andrew's voice so he was lying that he told her that he had an afternoon class. She felt like she was hurt without meaning to. She also felt disappointed, she didn't know why. She didn't want to explain it, but she seemed to be crying, maybe it was just a result of her headache. She won't be angry because he's going to visit Louella. After all, they don't have a relationship. She just gave it to him so that he wouldn't follow her one after the other, and just like that, she was hit. She went straight outside and looked for a taxi to take. She will not go home first, she will go straight to Sir Alfonso's house and sleep there. She didn't know why she felt pain. She should text ma'am Elijah but maybe not. A few minutes later she was outside the gate. She went inside after she paid.

"You're here, Lucy. Come on," said Camille.
"I came from university and we had school. When we got home, I went straight here." Lucy answered.
"Does Elijah know you're here?" Camille asked.

"No."

"Maybe they are looking for you. They will give you orders. But if you want to stay here. You can. What snacks do you want?"

"I'm full."

"Okay."

Andrew seems to be going crazy after finding Lucy. He was happy because she paid attention to him but he forgot to say goodbye to her and told her to wait for him to go home. He thought she would wait for Desiree.

"Are you okay?" Desiree asked him.

"No. Where is Lucy?" Andrew raised his voice.

"Relax. You don't have to shout. Where have you been? Are you flirting again? Call her." Desiree ordered.

Andrew had been calling for a while but he couldn't reach Lucy.

Elijah is already outside the building waiting for Harris and Luke. Liza must have left because her car is no longer there. Her classmates got married. There is no stopping them from planning to build their own family. Camille texted her just before that Lucy was at her father's house and Lucy also texted that when Desiree looks for her, tell her to come home to them, especially to Andrew. Elijah just shook her head, he didn't know what had happened to them.

"Let's go," Harris said.

"Where's Luke?" she asked.

"Mrs. Acosta took overtime. And you're at home first because you're pregnant. We haven't even been to the doctor for a check-up yet." Harris said.

"Maybe I'll be bored there and I won't be with anyone," answered Elijah.

"I was just at home. I worked from home. You want to be watched for twenty-four hours.." replied Harris.

"I'm touch. Thank you."

"You're welcome."

When they arrived at the house, Desiree was not there, only Andrew was outside the gate leaning against his car.

"Good afternoon."

"Good afternoon. Why didn't you come inside the house?" asked Elijah.

"No one at home. Hasn't Lucy come home yet?" Andrew asked.

"Lucy went home to the province. I don't know when she'll be back," answered Elijah.

"Lucy came home? Is there a problem with them?" Harris asked.

"Yeah. She texted me but I'm not if there's a problem." Elijah answered looking at Andrew's reaction.

He was very sad and bowed his shoulders as he said goodbye to both of them. She was amazed at Andrew's feeling's towards Lucy. She didn't want to lie but Lucy need a break from this man. He was so in love maybe and forgot to take a break. Elijah couldn't tell what this Andrew wanted to happen. Whether he is still cheating or not. Sometimes the male brain is incomprehensible. So he entered the house first.
Lucy was in the room now just after Desiree called and asked where she was. She's not used to someone looking for someone else even though she's considered Desiree's friend.
"What would you like to eat, sweetheart?" Harris asked.
"Anything. I'm not craving the food I want to eat today. Just whatever you find in the fridge," answered Elijah.
"Okay."
Elijah left for a while to take a shower. A few minutes later he lay down on the bed after getting dressed. He didn't realize that he fell asleep. Harris heard a voice that woke him up.
"Let's eat. Did you sleep?"
"I think so. Is it cooked yet?"
"Yes. I waited for you to wake up a while ago. But it took you a while to come down so I came here. Then I saw that you had fallen asleep." replied Harris.
"I'm sorry."
"It's Okay."

"You shouldn't have bothered to cook. I should have gone to sleep." Elijah said.
"You can't eat. Our baby might get hungry because of what you're doing."
"Sorry. But I'm still full."
"Just eat a little."
