Chapter 11

SILVANA

It was already getting late, so I left the company, but what I saw when I got home made me mad. Xander was sitting on the couch with a lady who was almost naked on his laps. They were kissing.

"What do you think you're doing?" I asked and they stopped kissing, turning to me.

"Oh, you are here." Xander chuckled, and I scoffed. "I asked you a question."

"Oh..what do you think we are doing? Obviously kissing. What? You wanna join." He sner and the giggled, pecking his lips.

I frowned in disgust and spoke up." Do you think you can do this?"

"Why not? It's my house." He smirked.

"Your house?"

"Yeah." He nodded and I chuckled in disbelief.

"Your house? Have you forgotten...this is my house, not yours. I don't even think you should be staying here."

"What are you getting at?" He frowned, and I took two steps closer to them.

"What do you think?" I raised my brows. "You shouldn't even be living here in the first place, but I allowed it, and what did you do? You couldn't take care of the house. You sacked all the maids, the drivers...the house even looks, abf and what? You want to continue staying here? I don't see the need to." I said, shrugging.

"You are not thinking of sending me out of the house, are you?"

"Glad you got it right, you should be getting your things ready to leave."

"Baby, what's she talking about? You are not leaving, right?"

"Get off me." Xander yelled, and pushed the girl off. I chuckled as she fell to the ground.

"Xander!"

"Get out!" He yelled at her and she glared at him before wearing her clothes well. She glared at me before walking out of the house.

"Ouch! Don't break the door!" I yelled after when she shut the door loudly.

"Do you think this is a joke?" I turned back to Xander with a smile.

"It isn't."

"Wow. I know see why your husband divorced you, you are of no use."

"Right. That's why I can't be of use to you, so leave the house." I smiled, but it vanished immediately. I began walking upstairs.

"You will pay for this, Silvana!"

I stopped walking immediately. I turned around, cocking my head. "How? It's my house." I smirked and turned around. He continued yelling, but I didn't stop this time. He can destroy his voice box for all I care.

_____

The next day, I met with James. This time, formally and we agreed on terms and conditions before signing the deal, though he didn't seem to have any problem with it. It reduced my work though, as I thought we would have to go on and on to be on same term. I was grateful it didn't happen that way.

The day went on quickly and I was already on my way home when my car failed me. It suddenly stopped on the road. I tried calling my repairer but he didn't pick, so I decided to take a cab.

I sighed loudly as I stood by the roadside while waiting for a cab, but it never came. It was already getting really late, and I was starting to feel uneasy. Worse, the sky became cloudy, and I knew it was gonna rain soon.

Ah. I can't believe this I happening. I moved closer to the road to look ahead for any cab, there was none, and soon, the rain began pouring.

I was already rushing to my car when a car stopped beside me. I stopped and looked at it as whoever it was whirred the window down. The window soon came down and James's face appeared.

"Get in." He said, loudly and I batted my lashes.

"Come on." He yelled again, and I opened the car door before going in.

"Are you okay?" He asked, looking at me.

"Yeah, thank you." I nodded and he sighed out.

"Why were you in the rain?"

"My car suddenly stopped and my car repairer didn't pick so..."

He sighed and, suddenly moved closer to me. My eyes widened as he did my seatbelt. He withdrew when he was done and I breathe out, as he brought the car to life, driving away.

"Where are you going?"

"Taking you home." He replied and I mumbled a 'thank you' before wrapping my hand around my body. My clothes were wet from standing in the rain for that few moment, and I was also cold. He seemed to notice, caused he reached out to the back seat to take a jacket, and dropped it on my laps.

I blinked, staring at him. That was when I noticed he wasn't putting on his suit jacket from earlier. I continued staring at the jacket without do anything until his voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Put it on, will you?"

"Oh....thank you." I mumbled and put the jacket over me.

I gave him directions as he drove, and finally, we got to the mansion.

"Thanks for the ride." I told James as I made to get out of the car, but my phone chimed. I checked it to see a warning alert of a foggy road because of the rain.

I looked ahead of the road and sighed.

"Is something wrong?" James asked, and is showed him the phone.

"Ooh..."

"You wanna come in...till the rain stops?" I asked nervously.

"Are you okay with it?"

"I guess." Even though I wasn't quite comfortable, it's my fault that he is here, so I have no choice.

We came out of the car and I was already going in when he draped an umbrella over my head. I looked at him, and he smiled. I smiled lightly.

"Make yourself comfortable, I will be back." I told him when we got inside. He nodded without saying anything. I dropped my bag and phone on the table before heading upstairs. I needed to change my clothes if I don't wanna catch a cold.

I took my clothes off immediately I got to my room before entering the bathroom. I made myself a warm bath before getting into the bathtub. I spent few minutes there so as not to keep James waiting before getting out. I wrapped myself with a towel, before walking out.

"Oh my gosh!" I gasped in shock when I saw James by the door.

"What the hell are you doing here!”
