Chapter 40

KYRA

I exited James' company, with my blood boiling in anger. How could James reject me because of that sly witch. He thinks I'm joking when I said I'm never letting him go. I should have come back sooner after receiving his silly breakup message, but I was too busy with work. I only had a chance to come back to the country last week, only to see him messing around with that bitch.

"Are you okay?" My manager asked as I got into the car. A scoff escaped my lips, and I rolled my eyes. "As if."

Dropping my designer purse beside me, I spoke up. "About that Silvana girl on the news with James. Find out who she is? If she truly had a divorce... everything, and also get someone to watch her every move."

"Okay." My manager nodded

"Let's go." I urged and she started the car, driving out of the company.

"What's next on my schedule?" I asked, as I leaned back, relaxing on the seat.

She was silent for a while before speaking up. "A shoot for Derave couture."

I said nothing and closed my eyes, but it snapped open when I got an idea. I took my gaze to my manager. "You know what? About the article, fuel the comments under it." I told her and her brows creased into a confused frown. "How?"

"Get people to do it or something!" I snapped and closed my eyes, a smirk drawing on my lips. Silvana - you will regret getting involved with my James.

After the shoot, I headed back to my mansion, still fuming with anger, and when I got there, I poured myself a glass of wine, and as I sipped from it, the scene of how James didn't seem moved when I faked my tears made me angry, because the James I knew would rush up to me and pamper me while trying to calm me down. My hold around the glass tightened as I thought about it.

The blaring of my phone brought me out of my thoughts, and I checked to see my manager calling. My face twisted into an irritated frown. Why is she calling me when we just departed a few minutes ago?

"Why do you want to?!" I snapped as I picked.

"Actually, I found out that Silvana is really divorced. It happened a few months ago." She said and my eyes flickered. She is divorced? Interesting!

"What else?" I asked.

"That's all I could find for now. I will dig more and report to you."

"You should have just reported to me at once. Do your work well, will you?!" I snarled, and hung up at once.

A smirk pulled to my lips. That bitch. How could James leave me for a divorcee? I scoffed and gulped down the whole wine. Welcome to hell, Silvana!

REED

I giggled happily as I scrolled through the comments through the hateful comments bashing Silvana for visiting a hotel with James. The insults were mainly against her, with people calling her slut and every derogatory name anyone can be called. As I read through, a chuckle escaped my lips at the outrage, feeling a sense of satisfaction. Keeping tabs on Silvana was surely the best thing to do.

I was about to take a sip of my coffee on my desk when my phone rang out with Xander's name flashing on the screen. I answered on the second ring after taking a sip of my coffee, "Hey, Xander. What's up?"

"Hey, Reed. I just saw the article about Silvana and James. Is that what you're doing?" Xander asked, his tone laced with amusement.

I laughed out loud. "Of course. Did I do well?"

Xander chuckled. "Man, you're a genius. I love this. Silvana is on fire right now. I heard the board called for a meeting concerning this."

"Really? Are you attending?"

"Nope, but I have business there, so I'm visiting the company. You did good, Reed. I can't stop laughing while reading the comments against her." Xander said, laughing while saying the last part.

"I know, right? She believes she is on top of the world, it's nice to bring her down."

"I completely agree," Xander said, "I mean, who does she think she is, sneaking around with James like that? She deserves all the backlash she's getting."

I nodded even though Xander couldn't see me. "Exactly. Just do your part to get back the company."

"I will, Reed. Just keep watching her while I do my thing."

I hummed a reply and as we wrapped up our conversation, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. This is just the beginning of a beautiful game, and I'm ready to play dirty. I took another sip from my coffee, feeling invigorated and ready to take on the day.

Just then, the door opened and I looked up.

"Babe." A smile lit up on my face when I saw Esham walk in. "You never said you were coming?" I dropped my phone and faced her completely as she sat on my lap.

"I wanted to surprise you. Let's have lunch together, or are you busy." She wrapped her arms around my neck and her eyes moved to my phone.

"Oh, you've seen it?" She said when she saw the article.

"More like I'm behind it." Her eyes widened, and she looked at me, surprise evident in her eyes. "You did?"

"Of course." I moved my eyebrows.

"Oh my! You're the best!" She exclaimed and pulled me into a hug. I grinned as I hugged her back.

We stayed in that position for a while before we pulled out, and Esham sighed. "I was thinking of ways to get back at her for embarrassing us at the party, but when I saw the post, I was so happy that I was willing to thank whoever the poster was, not knowing you were behind it." She said and I laughed out at her silliness, pecking her lips.

"You are the best."

"I know." I smiled and kissed her hard. She moaned out, her moans which sounded like music to my ears.
