Chapter 45

.As I exited the company, a surprised look appeared on my face when I saw Karen leaning on her car.

"Silvana!" She called out, waving at me. I smile slightly as I walked over to her. "How come you are here? You didn't tell me you were coming."

"I did, check your phone." She replied and I checked my phone. Like she said, she sent a message saying she was outside.

"I must have missed it." Mumbling, I put my phone back in my bag and faced her fully. "Where are we going?"

"To eat the dinner." A smile spread across my face and I happily got into the car after telling one of the company drivers to drive my car home. Karen also got in the driver's seat and we were out of the company in a brief.

About thirty minutes later, we arrived at a five-star restaurant, which Karen recommended. We went in and as we settled in our seats, we heard whispers about me on the table close to us. The girls there seemed to have recognized me from the article, and Karen suggested that we go to another restaurant, but who cares. I am here to eat not to care about them, and also, what's the probability that I won't be recognized in the restaurant that we go to. I insisted on eating here and she agreed. A waiter approached us and took our order. Karen ordered for chicken and chips while I ordered for rice balls, we topped it all with a wine.

The waiter returned with our order and I couldn't help but salivate at the sight of my food. I began eating without wasting time.

"Are you that hungry?" Karen asked with a chuckle as she started eating too.

"Guess what? I just broke up with my boyfriend."

I stopped eating to look at her. "Which boyfriend? I thought you already broke up with him."

"Oh, not that," she waved her hand carelessly, "I got a new one after him, but we broke up this afternoon."

"What!" My eyes widened, almost falling out of its socket. "In the space of how many months?"

She shrugged. "I know, right? But I decided not to get into any relationship for the time being."

"Really? That's great." I dropped my spoon to clap for her. Not too loud though since we were in a public place.

"You made a good decision." I gave her a thumbs up and she chuckled, fanning herself funnily. I chuckled at her silliness and went back to my food.

"Look we have here." I stopped eating once again at the sound of that voice. Karen did the same and we turned to see Esham approaching us.

"Ugh. It's that bitch." Karen rolled her eyes, and returned to her food, but my eyes remained on Esham who was now in front of us.

"Can we help you?" I questioned, hoping she would get rid of herself, but that thought is surely impossible with her.

She snickered, folding her arms under her small breasts while trying to push them up. "What can a slut possibly do for me."

The loud clanking of ceramic made us look in the direction of Karen. Karen's face flashed with anger as she took a tissue, wiping her mouth with it and before we knew what was happening, she shoved the tissue in Esham's open cleavage.

"What! You bitch!" Esham leaned in to hit her, but Karen was faster; she stood up and pushed her instead.

"Ahhh!!!" Esham yelled as she fell on the floor in a loud thud, attracting the attention of the other diners.

"Between you and her, who looks more like a slut! Look at you, dressed like you were brought out of a slut house!"

"How dare you?!" Esham yelled more like a cry and Karen took a step closer, ready to strike, but I stood up quickly and held her hand. "You don't have to."

"Of course, I have to! This bitch here doesn't know her place and I would like to show her!" Karen yelled to my face before turning to Esham. I sighed, knowing her anger was valid. I was pissed too, but I didn't want to cause a scene.

"Who do you think you are to call her such names, and how dare me? How dare you to! You are nothing but a sly bitch who goes around sneaking up to men that are not yours!" Karen shot at her and roughly pulled her hand away from my hold. She picked her bag on the table before turning back to me. "Let's go."

Not wanting to disagree with her cause she is really angry now and needs to get out of here before she explodes, I nodded my head and we turned to leave.

"It's not my fault that she is slutting up to James, she even lied about them dating!" Esham's voice halted us in our track. This time, the anger I was trying to hold in burst out. I rushed over to Esham and pounced on her, transferring all my aggression and stress from the past few days to her, without care of what would happen next.

By the time I was done with her, her face was in ruins. I stood from her walked out with Karen after calling an ambulance.

"Are you okay?" Karen asked as we got in the car.

"I'm fine." I replied simply, and looked out of the window, closing my eyes.

"You're not at fault. She deserves it." I heard Karen say, but I ignored her. Soon, she started the car.

"We are here." I opened my eyes for the first since the ride started. I looked at the window and realized that we were already at my house.

"Thank you." Mumbling, I took my bag and exited the car.

"Have a good night rest, okay?" Karen said from the car and I nodded. She drove off after.

I exhaled and slowly turned to the house, but I had no interest to go in. So, I slowly turned away from it and went into the street, deciding to take a walk. I don't know how far I went, but when I finally got myself, I realized I was at a park.

It seemed unfamiliar but I still settled down on a chair. Exhaling, I relaxed on the bench, and looked down at my hands which held my bag. I released an exasperated sigh, as the reality of what I did at the restaurant dawned on me. I had beaten Esham up, and it would surely hit the headlines tomorrow. Once again, I had done something that would ruin me.

Ters slipped out of my eyes at the thought of getting bashed again tomorrow. Why didn't I just hold myself together. Why did I have to react?

"Why?!!!!" I cried out, and I was about releasing another round of tears when I saw a well folded black handkerchief, and then a hand. My eyes moved from the hand to the face of the owner and a gasp left my lips when I saw who it was.

"James."
