Going to meet her
Another day had passed, he was still on the clothes from yesterday, the pizza he ordered, was staring back at him. He couldn’t eat even a slice from it. He had to distract the detective tailing him. Yesterday. He wasn’t safe anymore. And he doesn’t know if she was okay. He wanted her here. He was stupid, he had accept that. Right now, he needed to see Maeve because he’s going insane.
“You’re really going insane.” The sing song voice came again. This time from the pizza.
He almost cried.
“I keep hearing voices. What’s wrong with me?”
“Everything is wrong with you.”
“I agree with you on that..” he exhaled and rolled his eyes over to the clock. He had to see Eamon today with the lawyer. He sighed and just stared at the clock. For over five minutes as it tick tock.
And he didn’t hear anything from the flowers or the pizza. He was getting late to see Eamon. With everything bothering him, he couldn’t find her, he wasn’t so sure he could leave the house. But he had to be there for Eamon, and had to talk to him as well. Maybe just maybe, there would be a little ease with him.
He forced himself of the couch, his jean falling from his waist, he let it drop, to this feet, where he took them off completely, remaining just his shorts. He took the pizza along with him. Dumped them in the trash bag, fill up a glass with water to the brim and chugged down. Wash his face with a towel and wipe them with a towel.
Before he walked back to the couch and wore back the jean with his belt.
Tucking his phone in his pocket, and taking the car keys from the table. Staring briefly in the mirror.
He looks like shit!
“Something is definitely wrong with you? Tell me everything about it before the lawyer gets here.” Eamon said just as he took his seat in front of Dixon. Dixon gawped at his bruised lips. Bringing back the thought he doesn’t want to dwell on.
When he was thrown into prison, he was mocked at laughed at, not just that he received a whole lot of beating, maybe, he thought the reason he was hated so much in prison was because a rich man son, the man everyone knew. He was not just that man son he was a star. On his own.
Nobody believed that in jail.
Anytime Linda came visiting there was either he had a swollen cheeks or a stab wound. She thought he wouldn’t survived in there. She requested he should be transferred but it didn’t worked out. He’d to stop her from visiting, because he couldn’t bare to see the pains in her eyes anytime she looked at him.
And only when he learnt to fight back, it stopped and then he knew someone was working behind closed door, so he doesn’t get transferred and made Buka. The dreadful criminal in prison always on his tails.
And he was seeing Eamon with a bruised lips. He knew what he went through in there.
“Are you okay?”
“Don’t tell me you’re thinking about this...” He touched his lips.
“it’s nothing, just a little fight, that’s all.”
“You’re sure about that.”
“Of course.” He chuckled. “So what’s up with you, this wasn’t the look you had the last time you came here. Is it...Her?”
Dixon looked at him.
“She left.” He reply simply and lower his head.
“That proved why you’re like this, you like her don’t you?”
“It’s not that, I would know if I liked girl, it’s kind of complicated. I felt empty, like this isn’t me, I keep hearing voices, from every corner. The flowers talking to me, pen, water, pizza, everything. Ever since she left. Like am insane.”
“If you don’t like her why feel this way, or do you feel guilty?”
“I think that’s it. Because I didn’t stop her when she wanted to leave. I could have stopped her but I didn’t.”
“Have you seen her?”
“I’ve searched everywhere I could possibly think she would have gone to but still can’t find her.”
“Maybe she’s with a friend or her parents or something.”
“She’s different, when I mean different, I mean very very different from other girls. She’s naive, she’s doesn’t know a thing about the town, she’s....” he paused and sturdy Eamon curious eyes urging him to go on.
“And she’s so cute.” He smiled.
“You just smiled and you’re still smiling. And you were saying, you don’t like her, that’s bullshit brother.” Eamon laughed.
“I don’t know, I’ve been so confused, this past days had been horrible for me.”
“You weren’t this crazy with Beryl. I would love to meet her someday..What’s her name?”
“Maeve.”
“Is she pretty.”
“Very pretty, and even more prettier when she smiles.”
Dixon couldn’t help it the smile as it appears on his face. All he could see was her face, smiling at him. He was grinning so stupidly in front of Eamon, who held his laugh in. He forgot everything, and he thought she was here, with him. That he could see her. Smiling so brightly at him.
“Mr Dixon....”
“You were saying...”
“Shut up Eamon!”
He left the prison with the lawyer, who arrived a bit late, there was possibilities of Eamon getting out very soon, and the case was opened for a reinvestigation.
“Thank you so much. Lawyer Nate”
“You don’t need to thank me yet, until he gets out of there.”
“At least you did offer to take the case, other didn’t want to get involved in it. That only am grateful.”
“It’s alright, I’ll keep you updated.”
Dixon nodded and watched him walked briskly towards his Mercedes Benz. And got in. He waved at Dixon and drove out.
Dixon got into his car and was ready to drive out of the parking lot when a call came through his phone. From a unknown caller. Who the hell is this caller. He slides the answer icon. Placing the phone in his ear.
“Hello, Who is this?”
“Dr. Green. I don’t know if you recall. We met sometime ago. You too me in your car, in search of a girl.”
“Dr. Green?” He thought for a while.
“I remember now, just been in a lot of thought lately.”
“Do you mind coming over to my place there’s something I would like us to talk about..”
“Well, I’m heading home now, send me your address. I don’t have much to do beside.”
“Alright. I just did.”
He checked his phone and saw the message.
“I’ll see you in ten, it’s close by.”
“Alright.”
He hanged up, and drove out of the station, towards the address Dr. Green gave him.
