Attack

“If you touch him, any one of them, I’m gonna kill you. I’ll kill you!” She growls.
Anika only laughs in reply.
“Sleep dear. A very long one and when you wake up, it will be over. You would be where you should be.”
And she blew air into her face, like magic, her eyes shut and she fell off the chair.
“Yes!” Roy screamed.
“We got her.”
“Gimme a high five.”
“This is it.” They laughed.

Linda was laying on the bed with the small portrait of Albert on her chest, she was not staring at it but had her gaze on the ceiling, but in her thoughts was on her late husband and the life, that is thereafter. And her life now and that of the family.
She sighed. Turning to her side. That was when she saw her phone ringing. She had placed it on silent, so she doesn’t get disturbed by the ringing tone.
The call ended.
Not up to a sec, the call came again. Reluctantly she picks up the phone.
"Hello ma'am Linda”
"Black?” She called to be sure of the voice. Since the number wasn’t saved on her phone. She sat up from the bed. And glanced sideways.
“Yes ma’am.”
“How are you?”

“I’m fine.”
“Sorry for your loss.”
Linda nodded. With a soft sigh.
"I have found her"
"Who did you find.”
“The girl, you asked me to find. You remember you told me to find someone.”
"Oh. I’d forgotten about it. Is there any need for that? I don’t want to find out any more. I’m just tried.”
“Well, I just found out she’s with your son.”
“You mean, she’s the girl with my son, I’ve seen her then, she’s his girlfriend.”
“There’s something else, your sons' life is at stake ma”
She panicked. Standing up from the bed. Her hands gripped the phone tightly. What could be wrong?
“You’ve to save your son, there’s a possibility that he’s gonna die.”
"It's not possible, what do you mean, he’s gonna die. He’s not gonna die. My son is not gonna die.”
No!

She cried inwardly.
"Hello ma'am Linda "
"I don't know what to say. I'll ..."
"I saw her. She came to the hospital. She was just like an ordinary girl.”
She cried out.
“I know, she isn’t an ordinary girl. I had to investigate more. Because I found out something was wrong with her. So I did more work and found out she was the demon, the demon-killing people around this town.”
“What, I found out something was wrong when I first saw her. I noticed it.”
She had been so blind not to notice, when she came to the hospital, she was looking innocent and strange and she had found it quite disturbing because that would have been the reason Dixon had allowed her in.
Oh, Dixon!

"I go there right now. I Am meeting with Dixon. Who knows what if she kills him.
"She has been there for long now. She couldn't possibly kill him now.?"
“She can’t kill him, she isn’t the one that’s gonna kill him. Someone else would. She isn't human. She isn’t with him right now, she had left, but they’re gonna attack Dixon.”
"How did you find that out "
"Through my ways"
Linda held her chest. Crying softly.
"It can't be Dixon "
"It can't be"
“What I’m gonna do, Dixon can’t die!”
"You need to call him and warn him, tell them to run away for now or hid somewhere safe this night. I found out about this while I was doing my search. And even at now, bad things would happen tonight.”
“You need to save my son Black. You need to help me. I don’t wanna lose another important person in my life.” She sniffed.
“Please Black. Please.”
“I’ll do my best.”
“Thank you.” She cried softly. And pulled the phone away from her ear. Standing up from the bed. She went through her drawers, finding a cloth to wear. She had to go to Dixon. She had to see him.

She ran back to the bed and pick up a phone. She place a call through Dixon but he wasn’t picking up. She called him again.
He wasn’t picking either. She got worried. And quickly slip her gown over her head.
Took her phone and car keys and ran out of the room. Nothing should happen to her son.
She won’t be able to survive the loss if anything should happen to him.

They were seated around the dining table, discussing, Mark who was supposed to be at work, didn’t go anymore. He stayed behind as they were all in deep thought. Thought for an answer. They had been on it for hours no and it was already late.
“I give up!” Eamon said throwing his hands in the air.
“You were the one who brought this idea you shouldn’t dare give up,” Green warned.
Dixon didn’t say a word. If he was thinking what they were thinking or his thought was on somewhere else. His eyes were glistening.
They had their lips shut when they saw his gaze. And said nothing else. If anyone was he hurting more than this, it was all Dixon. It was all him. There wasn’t anyone else than him.
“Dixon,” Mark called, placing his hands on his shoulders. They heard a sound outside the house. They snapped their heads towards the door. Expect Dixon, they weren’t sure he heard it.
“What was that?”
“It seems like a feet step, someone stepped on something.”
“What could that be?”
“There’s only one way to find out about that.”
“We’ve to go out there and know who or what is there.”
They nod in agreement.
“Who’s gonna go?”

“I’ll..” Eamon said, standing up from the chair he sat. He took the mop stick by the kitchen door and walked out.
“I don’t feel safe.”
“Neither do I?”
“Argh!” They heard his screams. Dixon jolted up from his seat. He wipe his eyes and glanced around. Everyone was alert now. Upon their feet.
“What’s is going on?”
“Seems, we’ve been attacked.”
“What? How?”
“Find something to protect yourself. And fight with.”
They marched slowly out of the kitchen. Eamon was groaning on the floor, with his hands on his head. Dixon runs to him.
“Eamon,” He whispered.
“Run, Dixon!”
“What.”

Something hit him on the back of his head. He fell face down on Eamon, groaning in pain. His head was hurting. Lifting his head to look at the person who had attacked him. He was still standing over him with a long, thick wood.
Over his face was a mask.
“Who sent you to us!”
“You won’t wanna know.”
“Who?”
“Well, I guess you must be Dixon.”
“Who the hell are you!”

“I’m someone you shouldn’t know, but I’ve got a message for you. From the one who sent me to you.”
“What message?”
“Anika sent me to you, to kill you since, with your death, it would be easier to have the girl killed. So she orders for your death. And that your little one is with her probably, she’s gonna die too, she’s gonna kill both her and the demon in her. That’s the message.”
“She won’t dare.” Dixon snarled.
“Well, she already did.”
“Leave my brothers out of this.”
They were all on the ground, as they were being beaten by three other, hefty men.
“I would have, but I don’t want to.”
He whacked Dixon with the weapon he brought, hit in on the head severally. She couldn’t be dead right, she can’t be dead. She can’t be dead!
He kept on hitting him.
“STOP!” Eamon yelled, standing up from the ground and pushing the man away from Dixon.
“Dixon run, leave here!”

He wanted to run, but he couldn’t, he could barely stand up on his feet. Eamon fought with the man, who was bigger than him, but he was able to hold him quite well.
“Dixon go!” He yelled. The bigger man was getting pissed.
Dixon stood up, blood was dripping down from his head.
“I’m not gonna leave your guys.”

“We’ll come right after you, now go!” He punched him and kicked him in his groin. He staggered backwards. This could give him a few time. He turn to Dixon.
“Go please, think of Maeve, you already know where she’s, you’ve got to save her. Don’t listen to his bullshit. She’s still alive and you know that. Go now, go save your girl.”
“Eamon!” Dixon whispered. He turns to the door about to open it, when he looked back and saw him being stabbed on his back, and another cut that slit his throat.
“Eamon!” He yelled. Dixon was running back to the man but someone grabbed him from behind and tossed him outside the door. He fell, without being able to see who did that to him. He was lying outside the house, his heart beating so fast in his chest. He didn’t know what to think or say.
“Dixon, oh my gawd.”
Dixon looked up.

“Mom,” He cried, she crunch to her knees and hugged him. Crying on his shoulders.
“They are still in there, I’ve to go in.”
“Don’t worry, they will be fine. Get in the car, let’s get out of here.”
“No, the other are in there.”
Just then, Green and Mark came out, Green could barely walk, Dixon stood up, and ran to them.
“Let’s go. Mom, bring the car here!”Dixon yelled. Linda ran back to the car and drove it closer to them. They got into it. And she drove away.
“I’ll drive to the hospital.”
“No, you can take them but not me.”

“Dixon Don’t be stubborn. You’re hurt, you could have died.”
“I need to save her, I need to go meet her.”
“She can take care of herself. She isn’t even human!”
“Mom! Ah my head.” He covered his face and cried into them.
Eamon, he died in his stead.
How could he do that, why did do it? He felt so horrible. So horrible and useless.
“It’s not your fault.” Mark said. His breath was heavy. Dixon turns to him.
“Don’t say any more words.”
He exhaled. And lean on the car seat.
“Drive faster.”
“Am on it.”

“How did you know? How come you came here? And who was that man.”
“Relax Dixon. That’s why I’m your mother. I can’t afford to lose you.”
When she didn’t hear anything from Dixon, she throw her head backwards and saw that he had passed out.
She increased the speed on her car, driving like crazy on the road.
