Maeve came out of the ward, after putting Mare to bed. She had slept off after their discussions. She saw him, lost in thought. His head leaning on the wall. What was he thinking about.
“Are you okay? Dixon! Dixon.” She shook him a little and then he blinked and jolted off the thought that he was.
“Hey.”
“What are you thinking about, I’ve never seen you this lost in thought.”
“I was thinking about someone, I shouldn’t waste my thinking about it. How is mom?”
“She’s sleeping.”

“Come, Let’s go.” He took her hands. And they began walking away from the ward.
“Happy? You got to see your mom, do you want to come back tomorrow?”
“I don’t want to.”
“Why? She’s your mother.”
“I don’t wanna see her again.”
“Why do you say that?”
She stopped walking and held his hands, and took them to her chest.
“Just trust me. I’ll let you know when I wanna see her and talk to her. For now. I don’t want to. I just wanna be with you.”
“Maeve...”
“I’m fine.”

She kissed his hands.
“Trust me. Okay?”
He nods and pulls her into a hug.
“You’ve got my trust big time.” He kissed her hair.
“Ain’t you two so sweet.”
They disengaged. Spun around to face the intruder.
“Mark!” The unison.

Maeve smiled at her, while Dixon glare at him. Wondering why he was smiling at Maeve and they were both smiling at themselves. They just got acquitted about a day ago. Or is there a secret between them that he doesn’t know off. He was capable of anything. With the mischievous smile he had.
“I didn’t thought I was gonna see you guys here again.”
“My mom is here.” She answered.
“Your mom,”
She nods.
“Mare Cartel, down at the ward over there.”
“Mare Cartel is your mom!” He gasped. With a hand over his mouth.
“The one time billionaires. You’re Maeve Cartel the daughter. Oh my! What a coincidence.”
“Do you know my family?”
“Most people in this town does. He basically runs this town then. Because of his money. He was..”
“That’s enough. She doesn’t wanna know.”
“Sorry about that.”
“You should know the things you should say and the ones you shouldn’t.”
“Fine. I already admit. I’m sorry. Mr grumpy.”
“It’s fine.” Maeve smiled, holding Dixon’s hands.
“We should go.”
“Yeah right, lets go babe.”
“See you another time Mark.”
“Take care Maeve.”
“You too Mark.” She smiled and pulled Dixon along with her. Because the glare he was giving Mark, she was scared he would punch him or starts a fight with him.
She pulled him out. Till they were out of the hospital.
“You seems close to him. You don’t even know him. He could hurt you. You can’t be friendly with everyone you see.” He emphasized as he ignite the car. Driving out of the hospital.
“He doesn’t seem like a bad person.”
“You won’t know. He would probably hide this bad side away from you since he’s obviously into you.”
“He’s into me?”

“Can’t you see the way he looks at you and smile. Like a a chicken.”
Maeve chuckled silently. Seeing Dixon jealous was sweet. She watch him from the side she was.
Smiling.
He throw a glance at her.
“Why are you smiling?”
“You look cute.”
He chuckled.

“What do you know about being cute.”
“Because of the way you’re acting right now.”
He smiled and looked away.
“Where are we going?”
“Home.”
“I don’t wanna go home yet..”
“Why?”
“Let’s go out on a date. Let’s be together tonight. Watch a movie.”
He turned and stare at her.
“Thought you were tired and would want to have a rest.”
She shook her head.

“Let’s go watch a movie tonight.”
“You’ve been so clingy recently. And besides you never did enjoy watching movies at home.”
“I do. Just don’t show it.” She replied. With a roll of eye.
He shrugged.
“If you say so.” He drove the car. Going somewhere they could watch a movie and chill afterwards. She shut her eyes. It was three days left. Today was gone already. After three days she would disappear from here, from Dixon’s life. It would be devastating for him. She never thought she would leave him so soon. She would never had fallen for him. She won’t have been so clingy to him. Now leaving him hurts more than death itself.
She sniffed.

“Are you okay? What are you thinking about. Your mom. She’s fine.”
“I know. I’m just.. I’m fine.”
“You don’t seem fine to me.” He reach out and touched her forehead. Feeling her temperature.
“You seem fine.”
“I’m fine.”
He pulled his hands back and continued driving.
“We’re almost there.”
She nods and looked away. She can’t tell him of the sacrifice and she hopes, he doesn’t say a word about it as well. Else he would wanna do it. She doesn’t want him to get so worried because of him. He had a life she doesn’t. She only began thinking of such when she met him. He would live well without her. Could find another soulmate. When she isn’t there. All she asked for was that. He doesn’t forget her so soon.
“Here we’re.”
