Collapsed
"Albert!"
Linda forced the door of the study opened. Having those worrisome look on her face.
Immediately,
Peru jumped from his seat, spilling the tea on his suit. He was here all these while reasons he didn't open the door the whole day because Peru was here.
Albert he would never change.
How could he?
"Albert!"
He pulled the tea away from his lips and gape at him. And didn't notice the weariness in his eyes. His dark and cracked lips.
"What's wrong with you, Albert.
I don't understand you anymore.
You've changed."
"Albert, this isn't you!"
"What's this all about, you don't just barge in here and starts rambling.” he dropped the tea. And stare at her. Trying to put his body together.
She scoffed.
Staring dagger at him.
"Albert I know what am talking about, just look at you, you don't even care."
Peru settled his gaze elsewhere. Wiping his stain suit with a brown hanky. Pretending not to listen to the conversation. He doesn't wanna get involved in their discussion.
"Can you tell me why you're here, you can see that am busy"
"Very busy with this thing.. So busy you shut yourself out the whole day, didn't take breakfast or dinner. A whole day you were in here doing what? I forgot you said you were busy, very busy indeed. You forgot you've a family. So busy you don't care if we live or die, what are you after? Money, money and more money?”
She eyes wandered around Peru.
"You Don't even care about your family, about your sons, you weren't this kind of a person."
Albert kept shut without saying a word but he listened to her. With his head down. What was be after?
Money?
Was it?
Reputation, perfection?
"I think I will excuse...."
"Don't you know you were gonna do just that when I step in here. You. You're just one cunning bastard. I don't know why he held you so close. You deserve to be friends with my husband.”
“You should try telling him that.” he mouthed.
She points her finger at him.
The words hanging in her throat but she couldn't pull it out.
"Don't get Involved in my family am watching you. It's just a warning. Else I won't spare you. I swear I would ripped you apart. I'm not Albert and I won't care what's he gonna say or do at that time.”
She turned to Albert.
"What happened, what changed you. You could always go back to how you used to be, a father and a husband.”
“Its all too late.”
“Its never too late.”
“It is for me.”
He sighed and sip from the tea. Then dropped it back on the table. His eyes met that of Peru. He smirked and looked away.
“I can't reached Bruce for the past seven hours neither Dixon. I have searched and use all the men in this house and we still couldn't find them"
"Ask santus to help with the search"
"I couldn't find him either so I already called the cops,"
"Why did you to involve the cops, you could have let me handle this"
Peru stiffed when he heard the cops. She had called them they would probably be on his tail now. How dare this woman?
Ruin his plan.
She huffed-puffed irritably.
"That was all I could think of, I called you and you weren't picking my calls. You won't open the door either. Then I saw detective, Sean contact on my phone and I had to put a call through him. That was the only thing that came to me. A help from him, since my husband was incompetent.”
"And as for you Albert if anything happens to my sons I swear you'll pay cause you ruin them, I don't know what to do anymore. I've tried fixing this family but all you do is ruin it. You don't care. About us.”
She sniffed.
“Since you've chosen him over us, you're married to him now, go on and continue with your business, I'll go and find my sons. You're love him more anyway. You should have gotten married to him.”
"Lindane!"
“Stop this nonsense..” he wanted to talk but he was tied down. He couldn't say anything even if he wanted to, peru had shown him gun he held on his waist. If things go worse. She might end up getting hurt. And he doesn't want her to get hurt because of his foolishness.
He had been the cause of everything, reasons he always listened to what Peru says and do everything he ask. Because of the tea he was taking every single time.
“Lindane!”
He yelled her name again. Hitting his fist on the table, raised on his feet.
"Lindane.."
It came out very faint. Than he had expected. His throat got sored. His eyes spin. His head felt so heavy like he was carrying the entire problem of his head.
His feet weaken. He wobble. And quickly held the table for support.
And the next thing that came out of his mouth was blood.
Then fell back on his chair. Gasping for breath. He opened his mouth wide. Allowing air to get in into his lungs. He was having trouble breathing.
"Albert!"
She rushed to him.
He groaned holding his chest. Hitting it softly with his fist.
“What is wrong?”
“I can't breath.” he force the words out of his mouth.
"Are you so stupid, standing here, come help"
"Albert get yourself together” she run her hands over his chest. Completely confused on what to do. Blood pour out of it again.
She cleaned it off his mouth with her dress.
She panicked.
“What’s this?”
He groaned again gripping his chest tightly.
"Albert "
He couldn't hear anymore. The voice was going far away from him.
His blurry sight, saw tears streaming down Linda's face. He lift his hands and wipe the tears away from her face.
“Don’t cry for your stupid husband.”
And everything turned into darkness in his eyes as he shut them. His hands fell from her face.
“Albert!”
Dixon turned, hearing the sirens of the cops, how come they are here? How could have called the cops here? And they came quite fast. He wasn't expecting them this soon.
He sighed already having an idea who could have done that.
Linda..
It was her son already, Bruce life was at stake. She had to call the cops, if she hadn't what else could she had done.
She did what's right calling the cops.
