A Kiss

Dixon took her home, so she could get dressed, he’d planned to take her to a place of solace. The place he loved going. Where he finds peace. while she was at it. He hurried to the kitchen to prepare some foods and dessert for them. Which he had to take with them. But the kitchen was a mess. He had to start wiping and cleaning, and washing the dishes he’d abandoned for days.
Fixing everything in the perfect order. He took his apron and wore them and then his hand glove. Throwing out the trash into the trash bag. He filled it up and took it out of the house. Into the street and dumped it on the waste bin.
And went back to the house.

He opened the door and saw Maeve standing by the TV set. He blinked and rubbed his eyes. Maybe he wasn’t seeing so well or what the hell was she wearing.
“What’s this?”
“Dressing..”

“I mean the....what the fuck!”
She wore a long black gown, and a skirt and tucked the gown into the skirt. She wore his face cap, and his sneakers.
“How did you learn to dress like this?”
“Green”

“He told you to dress like this.”
“I just dressed up like you said.”
“Who dress like this except if he’s gone nut”

“How would I know.” She shrugged.
“This isn’t dressing but madness.”
“Oh!” She made a teary face. Following Dixon to the kitchen. She sat on the island with a sad look. Dixon turned to her.
“Change that.” He ordered.

“How?” She asked, like she was gonna cry anytime soon.
“Take it off. You could leave the gown.”
She jumped down from the island. And was about pulling off the skirt.
“What are you doing?”
“Taking it off.”
“In here.”

“Where else.”
“You shouldn’t do that in front of me.”
“Why?”
“Go to your room. Everyone needs a privacy.”
“I don’t need one.”

“Do you even know what a privacy is?”
She shrugged. And pulled the skirt off. Dixon shook his head.
“Do What you wish Maeve, do just that.” He whispered, taking a pot from the cabinet. turned away from her, with a sigh. So much to learn. Teaching her would be so so long, and tiresome, he might not survive it.
“Ms Teresa.” He exhaled.

“I need you more than ever.”
“You’ve Green now.” She said in his ear.
“Jeez.”
“Don’t sneak up on me like that. It’s scary. Besides Green is a man, I can’t let him touch you.”
“Really?” He nods.

“And if he did touch me?”
“I’ll crush him..” she chuckled with the way he squeezed his face. And curled his hands into fist.
“I won’t let anyone touch you.”
She smiled at him a and hug him. Wrapping her hands around him, snuggled into his chest. And shut her eyes. He hugged her back smiling, she was enjoying every scent of him. Dixon, she doesn’t want to leave him, ever again.
Right now, he’s trapped with her, in this house and in her heart.
“I’ve to prepare something, we’ll need to eat when we get there.” He said cause she wasn’t letting go of him. Her eyes were still shut.
“I’ll teach you how to cook.” She lifted her head to look at him.
“I don’t want to.”

“Okay, Sit and watch me cook then.”
“I don’t want that either.”
“What do you want?”
“We cook together.”

“Right.” He chuckled. And hugged her a little more. It was getting quite late. And he doesn’t want them to arrive there that late, they won’t be able to see the sun set.
She disengage from him. And stood by his side. He twirl her around to face him. Removing the face cap.
“You shouldn’t hide your pretty hair.”
Her cheeks flushed. And she look away from him.
“Let’s start.”
“Yeah.”
They were in it, for a an hour. With Maeve painting Dixon face with the flour, running around with the ketchups, spraying the ketchups on him. He chuckled, trying to take it away from her hands. She ducked from his grip, and stuck out her tongue at him. He glare playfully at her. And returned to arrange the meal and dessert they made. Into a box. She really did help, turning the kitchen upside down, the wall were either filled with ketchups or flour or oil or cream. She was a great help.
“C’mon, We’re almost late.” He held her hands pulling her along out of the kitchen.

“We need to get changed. I’ll go freshen up while you do same, I’ll pick out the dress you have to wear..”
“Isn’t this good to go?”
“To go where?”
“With you.”

He chuckled. Pushing her into her room. And shut the door. He walked to her wardrobe and fishing out the dress he liked and dropped it on the bed. She was in the bathroom, he walked out quietly. He should as well get change.
Maeve span around in the mirror. She looked so different from before, and sometimes she wonders if this was truly her. She touched her face. This was her?
“Argh!” She felt a sharp pain on her chest. It came again. With force, pulling her down her knees, she groaned. Holding her chest. Her hand was black. And her long nails came out. She fell, hugging herself.

What was this?
The full eclipse was near, the sign. Green talked about, this was it?
Sign of death.

“Alien!” Dixon called.
She wanted to answer but couldn’t, the pain was suffocating.
“Ain’t you done yet?” He asked.
She sniffed.
He opened the door to her room.

“Alien!” He called. And saw her hugging herself at the corner of the room. He rushed to her, hunkered down beside her.
“Are you okay?” He asked, completely worried.
“Maeve..”
“Argh!” She screamed. He hugged her immediately. Drawing circles on her back.
“It’s okay.” He cooed
“You’ll be fine.” She hugged him tightly.

Dixon drove out of the house. With Maeve, sitting at his side. She’d been so moody ever since. He found her in the room, in pains. She hadn’t said a thing about what happened in there, she didn’t look at him, either. He was worried, for her. He hope, what he planned for her, would help lighten her mood. Make her smile a little. He wanted to help. Just do something.
“You want some dessert?” He asked.

She shook her head in negation. Without even looking at him.
“Ice creams? We could go get it.” She didn’t reply. With her eyes still on the road. She didn’t move or say anything.
“We’re almost there.”
He wanted her to say something, but she didn’t, he wanted her to talk. Like she always do? Smile at him. And laugh. But she wasn’t doing any of that.
Park the car and came down from it. Walked around to open Maeve’s door, she came out. While he walked to the boot to take out the box and cloth he brought.
“C’mon.” He urged.
“It’s almost sunset.”
He held her hands.
“It’s fine, okay.”

She nodded. He interlaced their fingers and began walking away from the car. They were going towards the rooftop, of a small mountain. Reaching he spread the cloth on the ground and they sat on it. Watching the sun set.
“Beautiful isn’t?”
“Yeah..”
“I do come here sometimes, have some peace and quiet.”
“It nice. Here.”
“Wait here..” He said, leaving her side. She seems so interested in it. This was her first time seeing something like this. Amazing it was. She smiled. She wanted to here again. Sitting down like this with Dixon.
Speaking of Dixon, she turned and saw him, coming up with a guitar.
She raised her
brow at him.
“What’s this?”
“Something you would love..” he smiled. And began playing the guitar.
“I made a song for you.”
She smiled.
“Hope you love it.”
She wanted to hug him, right there and now. But was restricted by the guitar. He continue playing while humming a tone.

🎶You’re so beautiful...🎶

He began singing, Maeve smiled. He sang so beautifully, she was so amazed and didn’t know what to do but stare at Dixon as he sings for her. She sniffed, feeling so emotional. She didn’t want to let it spill, else blood would fall out of it.
He stopped singing and played the guitar for a while then stopped. And kept the guitar aside. She jumped on him at once.
Didn’t mind if it was suffocating.

“You like it?”
“I love it. I want it every single day.”
He laughed, lifting her off her feet and spin her around. She giggles in his arms.
“I don’t mind singing for you every single day.”
He dropped her on her feet, and held her close to him. His hands wrapped around her waist.

Her b**bs were touching his chest. He held her chin and slowly lower his head to her lips.

And embrace it in a sweet way. Maeve blink. Having not an idea what he was doing. He pulled back.
And went for her lips again. Slowly this time. He bite her lower lips. So he could have access to her mouth. And she opened up to him.
He kissed her.
Her stomach knotted. And she curled her toes. Whatever he was doing she didn’t want him to stop. Like he was touching down her soul. He wasn’t in haste, but moved slowly. Working magic to her heart.
