Mother and daughter

“Momma?”
“Yes baby. It’s me.” Mare pulled her into a hug again, patting her hair. Maeve had her head on her shoulders. Concealing everything, she wasn’t gonna let the tears flow, because it wasn’t just tears that would come out of it. It was more than that. Something she can’t let her see. Something she mustn’t know about her daughter, more reason she can’t stay with her for too long. It was her mother, right here and yet she can’t stay. It was just a few days left before she dies and the demon takes over her completely. Her soul would be trapped forever. That’s if it doesn’t die. And there was no going back. Dixon mustn’t know of the sacrifice, it would only get him hurt and worried sick about her and she couldn’t bare to see him this hurt. Because of her.

He had been a lot of help, she drank his blood every morning. He was feeding her, there was nothing she could do for Dixon, he does everything for her and she couldn’t do anything for it. Nothing at her, he brought her to her mother, a family she never thought she would see again. There she was in the arms of the woman she lost.
“My baby, you’re all grown up.”
They disengaged from the hug which lasted for a long time. The longest hug she had ever had.
“We’ll go come together.” Maeve shook her head.
“You don’t wanna go home with me?”
“No, I mean, once you’re fully treated. We’ll go home. Together.”
Mare smiled and touched her face. While stealing a glance over at the door. Where she could see their bodies leaned on the door.
“He’s your boyfriend now isn’t he?”

She blushed at the sound of that. She was still not used to calling him her boyfriend.
“Oh, look at you.” She nudged her arm playfully.
“I’ve always known you too would be together, you were so clingy to him then. Though you were just four. You never want to stay out of his sight. Every time we go visit.” She smiled at the thought. Stroking her hair softly.
“Look at you two now, dating. You own me a gist. You’re gonna tell me everything that happened and how it all happened. I want to be part of the life I missed for fifteen years.” Her eyes glistened with tears again.

“I’m sorry for everything that happened. I’m so sorry baby.”
“It’s okay.”
“It’s not okay. You survive all by yourself. You went through all that torture, all that hurt. Since you were four, You’re a survivor. And you’re gonna not die.”
She couldn’t hold back the tears. It fell from her eyes. She cried. She covered her face with her palm. Crying.
She knew.
She was aware of who she was. She knew. what she went through, how she thrive the pains.
The heartbreaks.
Everything she went through.

“I know baby, it’s not your fault. I know, you’re a fighter. For being alive this long. You’re not gonna die. You’re gonna live. I know.”
“Mom!” She cried. Pulling her into a hug.
“It’s okay. You gonna beat this baby. You’ve to come back to us. And we’ll get to live together again.”
Maeve nods, crying on her shoulders. She wiped the blood off her eyes. And sniffed.
“You’re gonna live ain’t you?” She pulled away from her and cupped her cheeks, Staring at her eyes.
“Yes. I’m gonna live.”
“Yes baby. And you won’t die, and they won’t get you, those bad men will never get you again.”
“Yes mom.”
“C’mon here baby.”
Beryl held the telephone, wondering who she was gonna call, the phone number she remembered. There wasn’t anyone coming forth, she need to hurry, get the hell out of here before the bastard comes back. Who is she gonna call for help.
Dixon, she had treated him so badly. And he never once hurt her, never once hit her or do anything to harm her all he did was love her. Nothing more but showers her with so much love.

All she did in return was hurt him and kills the love he had for her. There’s to be a way to get back to him. Go back to Dixon, beg him if she has too.
What if he had found someone else, and there was no place for her in his heart anymore.
She tape on the buttons. Putting a call through Dixon.
He picked up at first ring.
“Hello, who’s this?”
“Dixon.”

There was a pause, when he heard the voice. She sniffed into the phone.
“Dixon?” She called again.
“Beryl, what do you want?”
“I need your help Dixon”

“What for? I’m sure Roy is taking good care of you. You told me, remember, remembered what you said, should I tell you, I called you begging you Beryl, take me back. But what did you say, “to hell with you Dixon, don’t ever call me again or ask for help or anything. I don’t have anything to do with you” you said that to me, now I’m wondering why you’re calling me. Why Beryl? What help do you need.”
“Dixon please just hear me out.”
“I’m listening ain’t I?”
“He’s gonna kill me”!
“Who?”
“Roy, He’s a beast, he hurts me and do so many bad things to me.”
“You should tell that to the cops not me..”
“I can’t he would find out. He’s already here..Roy I’m..” the phone dropped from her hands.
“Beryl?” The next thing he heard was a painful scream.
“Beryl? Are you there?”
“Mind you business moron!” Roy spoke angrily into the phone. And hanged up.
He turned to face Beryl, who was sprawled on the ground. Holding her stomach.
“What do you think you were doing, calling him for help. You’re stupid beryl, just when we’re about to get the lottery for ourselves. You’re stupid. We’re at the point of winning.” He howls in her face.
She whimpers.
“I’m sorry.”
“Shut the fuck up, you ain’t sorry. Ain’t I good to you?”
She sniffed.
“Answer me!”
“You’re.”
“Everything is about to end. Just a few more days, it’s ending. And everything will go back to how it’s supposed to be.”
He hissed and kicked her feet out of the way.
“You ruin, you’re dead. You go nowhere, don’t even think of calling the cops, they can’t help you either.”
